I really think this expansion heralds the beginning of the end of Hearthstone. Card design and balance is nonsensical and all over the map with apparently no basis in the current state of the game (or even the state of the game 3 months ago). Then you get shit like Pompous Thespian eating up slots in what should be a premium-only small expansion.

Something is seriously broken. The card design is shit, the balance is shit, the imagination (or what's possible in the tight space they've limited themselves to) is shit, the absolute refusal to change anything is shit, the condescending talk like it's the players' fault when we play their shit metas is shit.

I love the game, but jesus fucking christ I'm so tired of hoping for things to get better and they only get worse.

Whenever Yogg casts a targeted spell, the plus or minus ev is decided by how many minions there are on either side of the board. Since most of the targeted spells have negative effects, it's better expected value to use Yogg when your opponent leads on the board.

The other, non-targeted spells are for the major part positive effects. So yes, playing Yogg on an empty board is +ev and playing Yogg on a board where opponent leads is extra +ev. Playing Yogg while you lead on the board is risky and probably a coinflip or someshit.

here's the dirty secret about warriors, at least for a midrange deck like mage
they're not actually that intimidating when they don't draw fiery war axe
wait until you queue against a warrior who doesn't get their war axe, and pay attention to how easy it is for you to style on them

it's just the same old coinflip RNG as always, it just happens a lot earlier and more obviously than in other matchups

I have a fun idea for priest. Cards that remove limits on max health, have multiple cards with this effect so you can build a consistent deck around it.

Your hero can heal past 30 and your minions can be healed past their max health (visually, they're always shown as "damaged," you can heal them infinitely for as much health as you can.)

It's a poor man's zoo that shits out cheap spells instead of cheap minions and relies on arcane missiles/flamewanker rng instead of juggler rng. Unlike zoo, it doesn't even require proper placement of minions or proper sequence of playing, just hoping you get a good opening and topdeck enough burn for lethal. Paladin vs. priest is a retarded matchup ever since Entomb was introduced.
Want to murloc the shit out of him? Nope, entomb on murkeye or warleaders.
Want to play tirion for n'zoth later? Nope, entomb.

Previously you could always just murder him with tokens and quartermaster once he was out of juice and not even play tirion, now you'd have to tech in Justicar specifically for this one matchup and just keep pressing hero power until you both die from aneurysm.

So it's better to just pick secret paladin and so remind priest shitters that paladin is only the second worst class in standard.

N'Zoth paladin is like one or two favorable matchups for priest from the decks that matter at least a bit.

You can press the button as long as you want, but he heals for 4 every turn, so without Justicar it's still mostly a pointless exercise because after a couple of turns he'll just wild pyro + pw: shield. And playing big threats usually hurts you more than him.

Truesilver is the only one doing any heavy lifting, the other two are mostly just reach. Also it's really not even a viable Pally arena deck if it doesn't have at least 1 weapon. Having 3 is great, don't get me wrong, but none really stand out.

He's actually a legendary Doomhammer. Before cancer got to the Shaman class, their finisher/win condition was actually Doomhammer OR Al'Akir, with the latter being the preferred choice. I guess midrange Shamans of today need to go so fast that an 8drop doesn't fit, but that's really the deck that could use Al'Akir.
