There is a significant cost of investment in building frames. In fact, when I started out, I was one of those players who just wanted a frame who I knew would be good, and it wasn't until I got tons of play that I began experimenting.

Technically true but practically useless. Some frames are better at certain roles than other frames, some frames are better for sortie-level content than other frames, some frames are widely agreed to be shit by the community. All frames are equal, but some are more equal than others.

At the end of the day, you're ignoring one very simple truth: players are CONSTANTLY asking frame questions on /wfg/. Clearly there is demand. The frame guide is meant for those people who actively want guidance on how to build frames; if people don't want guidance, then they simply won't use the guide or ask questions about it on /wfg/. One big reason I made the guide was because I got sick of seeing the same questions asked over and over again, and often the asker got bad answers or no answers. Frame guide exists as a resource. Telling people "no you're playing the game wrong, the CORRECT way to play this game is to figure out everything yourself! (despite the high cost of entry)" is as silly as saying "my way of having fun is the right way and yours isn't."

by the way, there IS a modding guide included in the frame guide, and one of the reasons I gave build guidelines instead of mod-for-mod builds is to encourage learning

your linework is sketchy, and the line weight is inconsistent.

your body construction and proportion is all off - she looks like she has dwarfism, or is otherwise four feet tall. the hand is a mess and the finger has no joints in them.

the pose is also a mess - the shoulders are straight (and misaligned with the body) but the rest of the body is rotated. I know it's a shortcut you see in a bunch of illustrations but feet don't DO THAT.

The face has zero effort put into it. eyes are unequal size, the nose is a bump, the mouth is a line. Stop that.he hair is probably the best part of it, and it looks like the reason that is is because you drew it while referencing your potato, but you didn't do that with the face? why not?

Conclusion: first off, pic related. save that shit somewhere and read it until you have it memorized.

Learn anatomy with respect to how proportion and how the body is put together. make as few lines on the paper as possible. if you feel yourself sketching you're fucking doing it wrong. keep that shit sharp, too, I can see the pencil dulling in places as you went.

reference what you're trying to draw for fuck's sake. if you want to draw a hand holding a thing, look at a picture of a hand doing what you want to draw.

Better than everything else I've done. Believe it or not, I've actually been practicing my anatomy (albeit, without much luck) since April. I used to draw bodies much too long (pic related). I did realize that the drawing seemed stocky, but when I attempted to fix it, I realized it was the torso and not overall height, and erasing that would've ruined the whole thing. The face is actually an improvement, because I couldn't draw faces period (only shitty anime ones, but that doesn't really count) and just left it blank (again, pic related). I was focusing more on the jawline than anything, because I had no idea how to make a feminine face that wasn't the typical anime head with a diamond cutter chin. Thank you about the hair though, I was stressing over it a bit (that's how I messed up the eye, I fucked up the little strand by the face and nuked the left side of her face because I forgot to clean off the eraser and just gave it s big black smudge. It was probably fucked up from the beginning, not very good at small details without zoom.)

Considering this is one of my few non-anime drawings, a 6/10 is pretty good. I was moving away from it because it got super same-facey and tired. If I had a drawing tablet to be able to zoom and erase immaculately, it'd be a much better product. Stuff like the face is the byproduct of pencil smudiginess; if I try to be detailed with something small like that, it ends as a black blob.

I also have a question about how I shouldn't "sketch" my lines. Obviously I don't want it to look like an actual sketch, but if I try to do long, singular lines, it comes out wobbly as hell and looks bad. Also, do you happen to have a guide for more realistic noses? Mine look like trash.
