the reason the tank explosion damage nerf was carried through was because of the rampant spawn room killing and how people were complaining half the time they couldn't see what killed them. something that could have been easily fixed by moving spawnrooms and flags underground where the crazy powerful tank explosions (and also pre-radius-nerf dalton for that matter) are a non-factor, but instead they opted to make tanks less powerful and as a result tanks are just not scary anymore. i can't count on the fingers of my entire family the times i've eluded a tank by jumping around it while slowly placing enough bricks on it to send it to a different star system, whereas before the nerf it would just smartly place a shot under my feet and gib me like the squishy C4 medic i am. seeing a 2/2 tank come around a corner at a tech plant isn't the magical OH SHIT FUCK moment it used to be, instead now you just duck behind a corner and wait for the inevitable c4 fairy/AV mana 2 hexes away/mlg decimemer to deal with it. or just whip out your own (free) AV mana turret or any of the other 20 tank counters available to infantry
