Beth did some file structure changes amongst other things with the last few patches, since they're constantly fixing various bugs and shit, plus getting the game ready to accept the upcoming DLC. And the last patch came out yesterday or something, and a few of my mods went to shit after it, so there's a good chance one of those patches fucked your mods as well.

And of course most mod devs can't be arsed to update their mods to new patches.

They might be old, made either before the CK was released or with an early version of it. But if you're sure a mod should work with your version of the game, and it doesn't, then it's likely a problem with your configuration files. Which is something that also may be changed by a patch.

Hmmm, some ideas:

>Fluted barrel (light weight but very basic. fluff into-mechanics wise, it actually has a lower rate of fire because higher firerates would melt the already degraded metal)

None of that probably makes sense in real life but, that's the best I got.

I'd even suggest a "recoil+shrouded barrel" but I don't like weapon mods that are straight upgrades.

Random suggestion: receivers should be based on ammo calibers, with larger calibers reducing magazine capacity.

I just began the game last week, since now there's only one DLC left to go, and it comes out this month. And since I've got an actual life outside of vidya, with a job and all that other despicable normie shit, that leaves me with rather limited time for playing. Which means that I'm able to take my time getting through the game, and by the time I'm finished with the main story and whatnot, Nuka World should be out and I'll have a single playthrough to cover all the content. And then I'll probably come back to the game in a few years and do another playthrough with whatever is the biggest and best total conversion mod at the time.

I'm so fucking mad we don't get holsters and the like. It's so jarring. It was even acceptable in NV or 3 where your gun would vaguely float somewhere near your hip or back, at least it conveyed that you were carrying.

Boys we have some pretty great mods coming out lately.

First is Xanders aid: which is a full length quest mod with a new area to explore new items and a new weapon.

Next is RePerkification: Which condenses the ballistics into 1 perk again and adds new ones with some rebalances and new vegas style perks.

Third is Rapture: Someone is basically recreating bioshock underwater with new assets and it looks really fuckin neato so far.

Then obviously we have trainwiz's mod to look forward to and this mod called "LikeNewVegas". A new mod called "Carbot" which adds working vehicles to the game. A better hand to hand mod called "Kicks Of Fury". Things are looking up for mods gentlemen, and nuka world isnt even out yet.

I just need to compile all of my mods and add them to fogmods.

If you just run to the junkyard right by Olivia you can get a Fatman, a mini nuke and Power Armor before even going to Concord.

The fight in Concord is already trivial at level one, but instantly one-shotting the Deathclaw with the Fatman makes it even more of a joke.

Not very, and the sounds are a bit shit, as this is the shitty basic version from the ingame modding list. The glow is cool though, and something few mods for older games have bothered with. I don't into modding the game properly until all the DLC is out and updates slow to a trickle.

The Nexus version I believe can be crafted, and they have the option of being powerful, but not OP.

I wouldn't mind something a bit more 'official' looking, but no one seems to have ripped the Force Unleashed lightsabers yet.

Heck, the new way dialogue is set up is SO much easier to use than Skyrim's, the four-dialogue-option thing is just ultimately a small complaint I have in a long list of things I actually like.

Also, not sure if you'd know this, Trainwiz, but do you know if it would be possible to make various heavy weapons benefit from other damage perks?

Like how Rocket and Fatman Launchers get boosts from both Heavy Gunner and Demolitions expert, but what about making it so Miniguns and Gatling Lasers benefit from Commando and Heavy Gunner? Or Rail Rifle and Gauss Rifle also benefit from Rifleman in addition to Heavy Gunner?

I sort of feel like this double boosting would do great things to let heavy weapons feel more worth-it.

I could never do this in any game.

As bad as I may find a game's mechanics(tough I actually enjoy Fo4's quite a bit), I've never seen any mod that overhauled a game that didnt suffer from massive feature creep, terrible script bloat, and balanced that makes the vanilla game look good by comparison.

And its all games that have mods, period. Overhauls and big game changers are always just so terrible.

From the get go I might just be an oddity, but I support the split as a New Vegas fan. I just don't like Fallout 4. I don't shitpost about it, I'm not going to and haven't tried to convince anybody of why I think it's bad, but I don't like it and when I want to talk about Fallout I don't want it to be a majority discussion. It becomes boring for me. I'm sure I'm not alone in this either.

My question is why is the split such a bad idea? I think it would be wise to fuse back together in the future but right now Fallout 4 is very much alive so it drowns out discussions of the other games. It's similar to why Bloodborne split from Souls when it came out.

not him but Jackson chameleons are an invasive species in some states as well. Like Hawaii. I'd catch them all the time. Tarantula hawks on the other hand have a very niche place in their ecosystem making them harder to spread. Cazadores would probably spread easier if they reproduce the same way as Tarantula Hawks because they have more room, but there aren't a lot of large arachnids for tarantula hawks to prey on outside of their environments.

I'd have liked for some boars and shit to be in FO4 though. Some more mutatated fauna, and not the same shit we've seen.

Hubs with spokes are good if you're running around to merchants fairly regularly. Starlight, for example, has the Diner nearby with the two merchants plus Trashcan Carla stops there. Covenant can be good too.

Useful if you're farming for caps or doing a lot of settlement building and need to buy shipments. Having some provisioners engaging any random encounters that spawn nearby can be handy, especially if you're running another mod that increases spawns.

What Bethesda provides are large, highly configurable sandboxes filled with assets and one of the best 3d character creators you can get in a videogame married to a gameplay vehicle that allows you to interact with and manipulate this sandbox. they cap this off with a game engine that allows for constant infinite play in this sandbox.. This is what they have always provided consumers since back in the Morrowind days.

I think things like characters or story comes second to making a highly configurable consumer sandbox for Bethesda and that's reflected in their writing. Bethesda's characters all come off as stereotypes and archetypes because they aren't the focus of a Bethesda game, the world itself is the star here and characters only exist to sweep players from one scene to the next showcase.

The point of fallout 4 isn't the shitty story or shallow as a kiddie pool factions, the triumph of fallout 4 is that they have very neatly married together modding and the gameplay giving you these settlements you can build and put together. Where before players had to learn the techincal underpinnings of the game to create something or rely on others to make creations for them to download and explore they can now do modding 'in engine', and this is a reason why most of their DLC content post launch is either more assets for settlements or a showcase of what they themselves have created.

What perplexes me is the people who play these games on console. They're stuck with the secondary focus and have access to none of the primary features of Bethesda games. I mean they kinda got some of it with fallout 4 but they are still wrestling with console limitations. I guess Bethesda does a good job of world creation if console players can be enthralled by just Bethesda's creations

Mirelurks were probably one of the cooler new creatures imo. I'd like to see some more of the older stuff as well, like Floaters, Wanamingos.

I wish they'd make more mutated things. Maybe the monster squirrels from the concept art will be in Nuka World! I also would be surprised if Centaurs weren't in Nuka World somewhere. Perhaps Super mutants decided to join the raiders and keep the Centaurs as pets / remnants of Masters army.

You're comparing a game that just had its creation kit released a few months ago with a game that's had a full life of mods available. AND had its share of slutty, inane, and overhaul mods.

I think you're just here to shitpost though because a NV fan would have taken my concession that Bethesda focused on building the engine, the assets, and the foundation for the game, While obsidian used that engine in order to develop a deeper and richer story at the cost of a more dead and empty world with drab empty streets full of rubble.

New Vegas only exists because Bethesda created the framework that allowed Obsidian to showcase their own version of the world, which is my point.

Well I imagine Fallout Aztecs being expansionistic, always conquering to take slaves to sacrifice to some sort of post apocalyptic god, maybe a rogue AI that needs fresh human brains to compensate for the degrading technology of it's CPU, or a Master-like mutant that needs a steady source of fresh biomass.

They'd need some degree of societal and technological capability to do that, and the Aztecs weren't technologically backwards, at least relative to the other regional powers prior to the European invasions. Certainly not a bunch of regular tribals fighting with spears.

Being expansionist/slavers seems more raider than tribal to me. Most of the tribals in Fallout so far have been shown to pretty much keep to themselves, mainly because they don't embrace technology.

Here are most of the weapon mods I'm using in my current playthrough. All are balanced pretty well, most of them are thematic and in-line with concept art and lore. "That Gun" and the Alien Assault Rifle might not be, but they are both unique. Some of the melee weapons are a bit too clean and polished, but most of them are pretty good.

If you don't like at least some of these mods, then you're clearly going to have to start modding yourself, in order to bring the rest of the community up to your standard.

Realized I didn't need a few of the full dialogue options and cut a few weapon mods I uninstalled (Was wondering why I never found them, learned they're only through console.)

I get a CTD every 10-30 minutes. Screen goes black, everything shuts down. Which sucks, because I was playing F:NV with 80+ mods with no CTD's.

Far Harbor was originally going to have thrown Knives, hatchets, harpoons, buzzsaws, electrified harpoons, and explosive harpoons, and they worked as grenade, but you could retrieve them.

There is also a ct compound bow in Far Harbor files, don't think its fully functional through, just textures and a few sound files, not even sure if the mesh exists.

One thing that kinda pissed me off about settlements is that there wasn't any kind of attempt made to tidy up after the settlers moved in. they could have done it over time, have the trash picked up, the holes in the wall boarded over, the streets swept and cleaned.

It's not even just that. Enemies beeline towards you with no regard for the fact you're holding a long range weapon. They don't try and cut line of sight and sneak up on you or anything.

Also there needs to be shit like if you get hit, your pullback is reset on the bow. Meaning it's literally impossible to use that shit in a melee fight.

The overpass he's sitting on requires the Behemoth to move past in order to gain access. I think it's the Car Fort near Sunshine Tidings. In order to get to the player, the Behemoth has to move all the way to the Gunner Camp near Walden Pond, then get on the overpass there.
