Then why do the digital versions of a game cost more? You're just going in circles. I don't care about paying more for a game if it's marginal. If you wanted to buy Fallout 4 on steam at base prices you will be paying 80USD => 105AUD. That's nearly double the price compared to going to a physical store, and doesn't make any sense.

Steam isn't making Bethesda sell there games for more money, many other studios raise there prices slightly, but that's to be expected. Moore used to be a ranger and is a hardline soldier. She might seem cruel but to her the obvious solution is to neutralize the problem so it doesn't become an issue down the line. This is pretty much exactly because she saw the same thing happen with the BoS.

The NCR brokered a "peace" with them and it led to the Brotherhood staging surprise attacks on NCR territories. One such attack led to Moore surviving an injury so grievous it relegated her to, basically, a desk job.

Moore understands long-term results, even if the means to achieve those results make her unpopular.

Fallout 3/NV DLC is definitely just tacked on story lines. F4 DLC is tacked on mods. Dragonborn was pretty good for what it was though. With the exception of no real role playing choices in it's main quest. In fact, Skyrim has very few role playing choices within quests. The most roleplaying is simply which quests you do and which you ignore outright. Fallout 4 follows that trend, hopefully they break further away from that in future games.

There's no difference between hunting a fellow dragonborn and hunting dragons. Which was the entire face of the dlc. There's really nothing inherently magey about the dlc.

Also assassinating the Emperor is an optional thing and everything important to it would be going on in Cyrodiil which is a huge can of words that is best left unopened. Furthermore Bethesda has a habit of leaving the full consequences of player actions to be vaguely explained in sequels.

Alright, here's the finalized superheated saturnite fist. I adjusted the color to match the original, and the glowmap to make it a bit less dull. It has a legendary effect that burns you when you wield it.

Gonna drop the pile driver for now, as interesting as it is the animation just doesn't work well enough.

for instance
-Lockpicking and hacking in Fallout 3 and NV worked on a 1-100 skill.
-Only ranks 25/50/75/100 mattered
-In a 1-100 skill system, 2 should be better then 1, 3 should be better then 3, etc. etc., it was not
-Thus turning it into a 5 ranked perk, where ranks 1-4 are the same as 25/50/75/100 makes sense, since thats how it always operated


Another example
-All weapon skills worked on a 1-100 system
-Every 5 points got you around a 3.5% increase in damage
-Most people did such low base damage that a 3.5% increase wouldn't even register on the pipboy
-even after increasing the skill by 20 points, and getting a 14% damage increase, the overwhelming majority of guns would only get 1-2 points of damage more
-This made leveling up your guns skills feel really weak and shitty
-The devs couldn't just add a whole shit ton more damage per rank, as that would make an already unbalanced game even less balanced
-thus, effectively cannibalizing the skill upon itself, by lowing the range, and combing points together to get larger bonuses makes sense
-Resulting in the 5 ranked perk, where each rank grants +20% damage(an INCREASE from the 14% from previous games), and adds something else like stagger, disarm, cripple, throwing arcs. etc. etc.


Not only is what they did in Fallout 4 the logical result of a failing skill system whose meaning had largely been negated by the increasing introduction of player skill into the mix, it also allowed Bethesda to merge down the ugly as fuck skill interface of Fallout 3/NV into a far cleaner perk tree thats easier to navigate.

On top of this, the removal of skill got rid of terrible illogical senarios that past games had such as
-1 charisma(no one should like you)
-100 speech(everyone does what you say without quest because your so good at convincing people
or
-1 INt(dumber then shit)
-100 science(smartest guy in the world who can answer any quest)

Not really. Because when you have a perk based system instead, that just means you have to lock it behind levels instead. So you can't do super specialized builds that have say, high unarmed at the expense of everything else by level 20. That sort of fun Min-maxing is gone. Every build is standardized and kinda boring to be honest, especially now that you can boost your SPECIAL as high as you want.

No, instead you can just max-max everything in this game. You shouldn't be allowed to min-max everything, but you shouldn't be handed everything on a silver platter either. There's very little downside to any specific build since you're at most two or three levels away from being competent in another field. You needed SPECIAL points to get perks in NV too.

You start with 28 points. In the older games it was 40 but this was basically unchangeable, maybe with intense training here and there. So let's say 47 points total.

In FO4, by lvl.26 you can have 9 in all stats. By level 40 you can have 9 in all stats AND a healthy mix of around 14 perks.

Like I said, the system isn't bad per se. It needs a level cap and more cost to level up special.

Since forever, for the same reason birthsigns were a terrible idea.

Traits, like birthsigns, tired to give you an extra bonus, with some sort of detriment to that bonus.

However, in practice, traits/birthsigns fell into one of three categories
1. So overpowered it made the game piss easy
2. So weak they didn't matter past level 5
3. So bad they could make the game unplayable.

All this did was encourage meta-gaming since people didn't want to pick one of the ones that could break your game, and thus restart 10 hours in once they found it out.

On top of the lack of balance they had, the fact they encouraged metagaming, the fact that they often ruined people's playthroughs since you had to pick them before you even knew how the game played, and the fact they could easily be converted into perks, or other powers, and given a less bonus, in exchange for removing the negative, making then changeable, or optional, and giving the player the ability to pick them only after the player knew how the game works, there was literally no reason to keep them around.

Which is why every half decent RPG has thrown them out, and why games like Pillars, that keep them in simply for the sake of "DATS THE WAY IT USED IT BE!" have all the same balancing problems.

Traits are nothing but utterly blind traditionalism.

Hell, I cheated myself to level 100, 10INT, and got the INT bobble head ASAP, and even with 11 INT, playing though the whole game + all DLC released so far, I have only gotten enough EXP to have gotten me to level 93, had I started at level 1 with 11 INT, with a lower INT, I would probably have only been in the 80s by now.

And even at the level of 138 I am at right now, with over 1400HP + the marine combat armor + all the toughness perks, a small group of charred feral ghouls can tear thorugh my HP like butter.

Having super high HP in this game isn't really a problem since enemies will always be able to damage you

Not him, but I feel like a "soft" level cap is optimal. At least in a single-player game. After hitting level cap you only have to acquire the best gear you can find. I feel that once you hit let's say, level 50 you should start leveling MUCH slower but still continue to level.

The problem with fallout 4 is that by the time you reach 50 you have already become death destroyer of worlds. That's one reason I loved NV, the level cap was so high I rarely hit it before finishing a playthrough.

If I can chip in my own thoughts on level cap:
I'm restarting to fallout 4 game partially because my SS has gone past level 80. He had top-grade gun upgrades, maxed out damage boost perks...

And the only things in the wasteland that weren't damage sponges even against an automatic combat shotgun or scattered laser rifle with the explosive legendary effects were ghouls, and even those were shrugging off a lot of hits given they should have been taking several hundred points of damage.

I used to think a lack of a level cap was okay, but the things is, the power goes both ways, and soon fights against everything become long, painful slugouts that make loading in a savefile painful.

For ideas for a 'soft' levelcap system, there's always the ESO or Guild Wars way, which is, you stop gaining actual levels, hit points, etc. but you go get points for skills and such.

Of course, the trouble is, ESO and guild wars involve the player having a limited selection of active available skills at any given time. so it might not work out so well here.

There are few mods yet since FO4 still has DLC to finish and Bethesda keeps fucking shit up. My guess is that there is also a lack of interest and/or time from Skyrim modders to also work on FO4.

Even with FO3 and NV it still lagged behind Skyrim and with the """remastered""" edition coming out the chances of mod creators making FO4 mods are pretty slim.

My guess for the canon ending will be Minutemen win, BoS get some tech, supplies, and recruits from the Commonwealth, maybe use the Prydwen to clear some of the bigger danger spots along the route between D.C. and Boston so trade is easier, then they will fuck off back to the Capital Wasteland, maybe try to take the Pitt from their ammo manufacturing abilities, then start heading south into the Broken Banks.

The Institute's great crime is the super mutants, which the game tells you is a top secret project not even many of the department directors new about, and that many of the people on the project disagreed with and tried to get stopped.

On top of that, they have replaced all of about 5 people with synths, and all but Mayor Mcfgt has been shown to be better people then the people they replaced.

Beyond that, they have basically tired to just stay out of everyone's way, and recover escaped synths so those synths can't do harm like Gabriel.

Most of the people in The Institute are shown to be sympathetic to the plight of the wastelanders, even if they do nothing to help.

I'm having an odd issue in New Vegas.
I'm losing 30 rad resistance a second whenever I load a game, and taking constant health damage.
I've run the disable Sierra madre cloud scripts, taken antivenoms, hit up the doctors, and used mod given auto docs.
I cannot sleep or wait due to the health damage, and I am pretty quickly killed if I swallow something with rads.
But, if I walk into a rad area, its not a pain and I can survive just fine at my proper rad resist level.

Is there anyway to check for running scripts in new vegas and see if it just has a modav set from getting armor off that is running at one second intervals?

I've tried player.resurrect 1 and dispellalspells to see if that would work for any temporary effects as well.
