I love the VC units and their theme, but I really hate how long you have to wait between fights.

I get that they're all about playing the long game, but it's pretty annoying to wait 10 turns to make a province ~50% vampiric corruption, then take it, then wait another 15 turns to take the next one and so on and so forth.

I'm in love with it. It can seem overwhelming and a little bloated; but if you imagine it as a tool for seperate god-themed armies it becomes easier to handle. Plus a lot of units for the same god are found in the same building trees.

It also helps to break up the Norscan maruader monotony with huscarls and berserkers.

Hord factions are just too numerous and boring
Settlements just don't work with daemons.

So here's a simple system they could use:

> Daemons are one single faction.
> They have only one settlement in the northen waste and can't get any other.
> It's a huge portal with a gigantic garnison (it would be extremely end-game for any other faction to destroy it)

> Daemons can't produce weatlh. At all. They also can't produce troops directly.
> To get wealth (which would be chaotic faith) they must use agents (They start with two in the empire and can get others).
> Those agents can use actions against cities without any cost. They can also deploy and raise chaotic corruption.

Im on turn 138 and Archaon spawns, instantly declaring war on a vassal of mine. Turn ends and the cutscene with Archaon should be playing, instead it shows me the diplomacy screen where i should declare for the vassal or not. After that, movement, saving and going for the next turn is locked and i cant do nothing but load for the last autosave. What do?

From what i remember of many documentaries and ancient history class, Rome slowly started to lose infrastructure and lost land due to being unable to properly manage it, the west and the east split and the armies of the western roman empire became less organised and the empire could not afford the large volumes of men and equipment. Yeah, but unlike in WHFB, the battles are not the central point of the series. In I&F the battles are more of a background to the what's really important: the incest and the backstabbing, something a TW couldn't properly realize without a complete overhaul of it's diplomacy system.

Is it just me or are VC kind of boring in battle? Only unlocked units up to Grave Guard/Black Knights/Vargheist tier so far but I'm just not finding their general strategy of a slow moving infantry meat grinder + general casting magic to be a very fun base for battles. The monster units seem to have very specialized uses, bats seem like they should be the counter to enemy missile cavalry or archers but even if I have the whole of a melee army distracted with my troops my bats don't do much more than distract missile units while dying, and vargheists are too expensive to put in too many risky situations.

It's like X-com, except slower and without any semblance of fairness, min/maxing is necessary to progress and even then most missions will still be largely up to chance. Cult of the Possessed is especially meme-tacular as mutations can completely fuck your most important units late game (like getting arm mutations on an archer, which removes their ability to use a bow). Hey guys, I need some advice for chaos.

I'm having trouble decide which chaos warriors to go with. I know that great weapons are good against armor, halberds against large, and regular guys are just .... regular.

Are any not worth getting? Someone once said that going pure halberds was the best because they are the most jack of all trades unit, but then I also read someone who thought regular chaos warriors were the only ones that were worth it. What about great weapons? Should my armies have a few of each or not?

When and why would I go chosen? They seem to be twice the cost but not nearly twice as effective as regular warriors...
