Rather new to the WoW scene here. I was thinking about picking the game up because I've always liked the legion thing and demon hunters seem baller.

The only MMO I've really played is FFXIV, and I know in that game you can still access all the vanilla content in the expansion via level sync. Is that something I you can do in WoW too? I read how you can only be one class per character so it initially drew me away, but I figured I'd pick up WoW and all the expansions since there's gotta be a ton of content by now.

When you make your character you pick a race and a class and that class it what that character will be forever. Classes do however have multiple specializations that usually play differently from each other or fill different roles. It doesn't hurt to make multiple characters to try more classes, it just takes more time and energy to level up and learn the class.

You do not have to go through the entire game as you do with the Main Story in FFXIV. The only thing that is current expansion content, you really are just leveling through prior stuff.

The only thing different is they have weekly events that are scaled versions of previous expansion dungeons for gear/cosmetics/mounts.

All the old raids can be done at the levels they were intended, However being raids they require at least 10 people to do at that level OR you can just get to max level and solo it. The guild thing someone mentioned was for people who like to raid old content so they cap themselves and turn off experience at the appropriate level in order to preserve the challenge of the original raids difficulty.

Eh, that weekly thing sounds intersting, but I can't really see myself enjoying the game at this point. I guess I just figured since Blizzard has so much money they would implement a better, more intergrated way to access older content that you paid for. Although on the other hand, if all the previous expansions are bundled together and you're really only paying for the newest then I guess it's no real big loss.

I'll do some more research before I truly dive in. I like MMO's and all but I have to see if WoW can hold my attention long enough for the next expansion of FFXIV to come out before I go back to that.

Are the class quests like that actually gone now? Haven't leveled for ages. If they are then it's a shame because they were pretty cool quests. They could have just kept them in and allowed said quests to let you earn your demon a few levels earlier than normal.
