When you think about it P5 is pretty subversive as a Japanese game. Most JRPG characters are heroes who must fight because iof fate or circumstances. My guess is that Feb 2015 was the planned Winter 2014 Japanese release date along with the concert. Then at TGS 2014 with Sega replacing Index and the P4D dev and additional PS4 port issues they were probably aiming for July 2015 but by the time the concert rolled around they had to have know that they were not going to make that date and decided to aim for the 20th anniversary in 2016.
