Sun Princess Ring shouldn't exist, but every hp regen spell should tick for 2 more per second than they currently do.
Blessed weapons should scale their hp regen with faith, and tick faster for a few seconds if that weapon is used to actually hit something. Blessed weapons should also retain their ability to be buffed.

Their running attacks are the slowest in the game, are reaction-parryable, have a rail-thin forward vertical hitbox, have no tracking, can be avoided (and punished) by strafing, force instability frames during their startup and leave you at a frame disadvanatge even if they hit.

R1s are slow and have a terrible swing arc.

Basically every attack in their moveset leaves you open to being easily punished if you attack first and take so long to wind up that the other player has time to roll away thrice and then regen all of the stamina from those rolls before your attack has even come down. You can't stay close and maintain pressure because of their slow speed, and can't open with attacks or initiate aggression because nothing you do is safe or dangerous.

Long reach, fast, high damage.

The moveset was basically incredibly good and outclassed most other things. It was also the best weapon in the game capable of shieldpoking, and the only weapon with a shield-piercing R2 (also the best shield-piercing R2) that was also a turtle weapon.

DaS2 had one really overpowered medium shield with the stability of a greatshield, 100% physical block and high defense against every element and you could pair any good turtle weapon with it to become unstoppable.

Dark Souls 2 runs literally twice as good, and desu, Dark Souls 3 doesn't look that much better than it aside from some extra fancy here and there.

They could literally have just made Dark Souls 2 with better animations, no shitty tile texture fuckups and some decent lighting and shaders and it would've went over just fine.

I feel like BB both runs and looks better than DaS3. It's noticeable when playing both on PS4 how different they look and feel despite the same engine.

Because the game throws around the term poise as a general catch all for "resists stagger" and is utterly nonspecific as to whether it interacts with the numerical stat called "poise" or whether it can be interrupted at all.

Technically a few things can interrupt perseverance, like grab attacks, backstabs, parries and certain pve attacks.

The WA from claws and 2kat can also interrupt perseverance, but only if it headshots.

Just reached the Iron Passage, did the devs not consider the player having fun to be a factor in this level design? The entire tower of Brume so far has had its brilliant aesthetic ruined by tedium, the only close to interesting thing was luring mobs into barrels.

I've heard the DLC bosses are worth it but tempted to just slog on through the original content and shelve it. Currently despawning the enemies so I can run to the smelter, it's basically anti fun at this point. I'm not even sure if I'm just being a pleb, I platinummed Dark Souls years ago and never felt like this.

Is it worth the tedium? I'm getting pretty bored of killing bosses with ease but dying 20 times on the way in because the enemy positions are too boring and packed to pay attention to.

Iron Passage is one of the 'optional' co-op areas of the DLCs designed to be played with multiple players. It's thus designed to be unfun and it shows. You don't need it to 'beat' the DLC, and beating Magic Smelter only gets you a Magic Smelter Sword and a faux Father's Mask.

Those areas were designed yo be challenging to say the least. You can just speedrun your way to the end of Iron Passage. Yeah, those faggy sorcerers will cast PWOP to slow you down, but just spam roll through their rooms and you should be fine. As for whether or not its worth your time to do I would say for most people its not because the blue smelter sword caters to a very specific type of build, and you get a shitty piece or clothing to wear for all your troubles

There's one of these areas per DLC. Iron Passage is the second worst of them imo, the worst being horsecock valley in Ivory King. If you know how too you can safely run past most of the areas but it is a chore.

Iron Passage is "meant" to be played co-op, where one or two guys rush through the gate with the switch (or just stand by it and walk through when the switch is pulled) while the others go down the bottom path.

And the Magic Smelter Demon is basically just a gimmick boss. The original is not that hard to begin with, but the devs thought it would be funny to just re-package the boss and tweak the timings on his attacks to fuck with people who were used to the first one. It's only really "worth" it if you want the Aged Smelter Sword (and possibly power-stance it with the fire variant for the lulz), otherwise it's optional and the boss is nowhere near as fun as Fume Knight and Alonne.

I was fresh out of things to spend souls on anyways so it's not really a big deal. I won't actually have a use for those souls until the dlc and just clearing through new content on this NG cycle is sure to give me all that I need.

That's what the summons are for. Summon the two NPCs, have them tank and draw aggro, and run like a pussy to the next drop-down while the enemies are distracted. They have Estus and can heal during lulls, and you can just BC them out once you reach the fog door so that they don't fuck up the Smelter Demon fight for you.

If you hate this area, I can't imagine how you felt about Cave of the Dead.

Um....why is no one using this? I just picked it for my new meme pyro/str build and it's fucking bonkers. The weapon art L2 super smash can tank like a million hits and slam people, fully aimable.

It's infinitely superior to that Dragonslayer Axe thing with the slam that is locked.

It's also got low as shit requirements. You can 2 hand it with just 19 STR. I'm at SL30 in the woods and + fire clutch ring I'm fucking dunking on people.

and I have noticed now how poise works thanks to anons from yesterday. Sometimes my L2 will get staggered out of immediately, every other time I'll tank for days. Clearly must've been hitting 0 poise during the hyper armour and getting fucked out of it.

Now I know to basically only do the attack after a certain point to be sure.

It's the best low maintenance halberd for split damage probably aside from Red Hilted/regular halberd.

Fast roll if you won't use life ring.
Serpent combo is easier to hit but weaker.
I suggest you get only one of these combos and remove dorkmoon ring.
Try and hit 15/18 for str/dex if you plan on leveling higher, this gives you more weapons to infuse. I suggest at the very least getting a dark estoc or rapier, and a deep/raw GCK, then expanding to CCS, RHH, corvian scythe, a good scaling sword like dark or Lothric, GFS, etc.
27 vig is already kinda low for invasions at that level, so you need to make up for it with skill.
Your level range could be low level forest/settlement invades with only 3 slots, mid game like you're now, or 120 fingered run invasions.

The WA has a small AoE that you can clear safely with a single roll, and a windup long enough that someone can huck 11 throwing knives into you while you're animation-locked.

The AR isn't high enough to compensate for being split-damage, making it the 2nd lowest damage Greataxe

But most of all, it has shit for reach on a weaponclass that can't function without reach. Straightswords can outrange your R1s, which basically makes it unusable against anybody that isn't completely new.

Great corvian knife. Actually Corvian greatknife, sorry, I confused with the name of the scythe. It has rather high reqs for pyro, but is good raw. Try it if you can. You can risk going up to 90, but you'll only find shitter players who overlevel during the first run or NG+ ones.
Keep the vig, 27 is the bare minimun.
