Is the bloodmoon actually the moon, or a different celestial body? From outside Yharnam the moon looks normal, and it's in a totally different position. From inside Yharnam you can't see the original moon, but the bloodmoon is visibly in front of the clouds. Maybe the bloodmoon just hangs in front of it? The textures don't even look similar, there are craters and shit that aren't visible on both.

Killed Blood Starved Beast
Found the Radiant Sword Hunter Badge

Meta is 80-120, 98 here, 150 for Reddit shitters. All weapons are viable. First playthroughs usually go with quality. Start as Military Veteran and go 50/25 or 25/50 Strength and Skill, disregard Bloodtinge and Arcane. Save those for another character. Don't stay here too long, better to go blind first time around. Really fun game, especially for Arcane.

When is the best time to play the DLC? First playthrough or NG+? I'm almost level 90, doing my first run.

The meta around /bbg/ is 98, because it allows invading down to level 80 builds (100 is just out of reach for that) and avoids level 150 reddit shitters.

Every weapon is viable for PvE, PvP is different. You can make anything work if you try hard enough, but some weapons take more effort than others.

Strength and skill are the damage stats you'll want to go for your first time through, arc and bloodtinge are tricky for newcomers. Endurance is a luxury stat in this game though, you'll never need to level it beyond twenty on any given build unless you're giant.

I have well over 2000 hours in the game, so let that speak for how fun it is.

Now run off ya little scamp, this game is best experienced blind.

Absolutely every weapon is vaible. Each weapon is unique, there's no really objectively better weapon. The best start weapon is the axe due to its high damage, wide range and rally potential (getting back health with attacks). The Saw Cleaver is solid, fast and damages beasts extra (all saw weapons do). The Cane is the weakest, but has good range and speed.

Depends what build you want. Strength gives access to many weapons, as does Skill. Arcane and Bloodtinge are more specialized and can be mixed in with Strength and Skill, or pure builds. For a beginner, go Strength or Skill and don't worry too much about stats until you're familiar with the game. Then start experimenting with Arcane and Bloodtinge. Arcane is for spells, Bloodtinge for guns and some weapons.

Depends on the build. If you're rocking pure physical, just the normal sword with 27%'s. Your beams will do jack shit for damage, but just hitting fools will get some huge numbers, especially on the untricked R2.

If you're an arc build, you get nourishing abyssals on either a normal or Lost sword. The normal hits won't do as much damage, but the beams and the L2 will do much much more.

Shotgun watchers in bonus areas drop the offshape gems. Glyphs are in the OP. They're an easy farm but have about a 1% chance of dropping. Offshape gems go up to 31.5 but they take a lot more effort to get since you have a chance to get a blt scaling offshape gem instead which are absolute trash.

Well, you won't be able to use any of the bigger weapons. Cane would do well, Saif even more better. And then depending on how comfortable you are with lower vit, you could manage to get yourself as high as forty arc, though your options for weapons would be fairly limited at that point.

For reference, my build is 25 in vit, str and arc, using nourishing gems for big damage. So yes, 30 arc is fine, and 35 is possible while still maintaining 25 vit without breaking 50 just yet.

As much as you can have after reaching your desired stopping points in every other stat. 15-20 is a nice luxery, but I've gotten by fine with 10 on some builds. It really is the least important stat, unless you specifically want to L2 Whirligig everything you can possibly see.

Its so bizzare looking back at "experts" who claimed everyone needed 40 END when the game released. Then it moved to 20, which caused a bit of controversy, and now its basically the stat you raise until your build hits the meta level of your choosing.

Have you ever made a build with 50 arc? My build has a bolt Saif that hits players for four to five hundred per R1, moonbeams that hit for 600+, a fire Whirly that regularly clocks 500+ damage in a single hit. Arc is just like any other build, you get your damage stat to fifty and make sure you can wield your weapons and the rest is padding. Just because my tools aren't functioning and max capacity doesn't mean the build is useless, and even then my tools do fine enough damage, with Blacksky Eye netting anywhere from 200 to 350 depending on their arc resistance, and Augur that'll hit for more. As it turns out, you're the one that doesn't know shit if you think you need to bloat yourself all the way up to one-fucking-forty just to have a viable "build."

pretty much the same weapon types that were overpowered in ds2 are overpowered in ds3, though to a lesser extent. you can't deal 800 combos with two hits of estoc at least, but it still feels like weapon types were balanced by the same person who thought 130 counter damage was a good idea as well as longsword combos going into UGS territory in terms of damage

poise does work in its own way, i'm actually happy that they removed that shit system but i doubt it was Tanimura's decision

Skill/Arcane isn't so common since there's no real weapon that benefits both stats at the same time well enough. You could try CF: 40/12/10/40/5/40 at level 97, 50/50 would bump you to 117. Or just 20/50+ if you don't care about Burial Blade and Blade of Mercy. Str/Arc is really fun, Str/Blt can be fun if you like to use the big guns. Pure Arc is a really good choice, but if you wanna use base requirement HMS then you're gonna need it to be tricked and beam spam mostly.

All starter weapons. Ludwig's Blade, Kirkhammer, Stake Driver. If you have the DLC, Beast Cutter, Beasthunter Saif, Church Pick, and Whirligig Saw. Rakuyo isn't common but it's possible. All weapons besides the starter ones need to have their requirements met though. If you don't wanna put a single point into Strength and Skill then go for the Kos Parasite.

Its fantastic for PvE, one of the funnest builds. But its underwhelming in PvP, in fact the non-Beastrune varient is better for that. Its useable, but not top tier. They can srrc with a password if they have the chalice you're heading into.
You can also give them the glyph so they can use their small bell inside the dungeon if theyre on the same floor as you. Two ways to go about but if you're terrible and know youre gonna die often, id give them the glyph for repeat summoning.

No, just in general. You get like 1-200k per layer in my experience, provided you're not speedrunning them.
