I'd prefer if they just added new weapons or kept adding new stuff to the ones that already exist. Gunlance needs a serious rework, Bowguns need a rework, Lance needs a rework I mean 3U/4U evade lancing works well and all but the weapon itself is so fucking basic i'd like them to add some flavor to it. And if Styles and Arts don't make a return and Lance keeps the third long shitty poke they added to Lance in Guild style then the weapon is ruined anyways. HH also needs a rework, at least on recital animations and MVs

To be honest, reworking broken weapons and the elemental damage system is probably more than Capcom can handle considering what a disaster everything new they add is. I don't mind mounting i guess, but i don't understand why they even added it. It's such an unnecessary mechanic.

yeah, the recitals can be hard to find openings for sometimes, so that could be better. I wish we could recital out of an adept roll. as far as the MVs and damage, it's not bad. being bottom for solo TAs is to be expected for a weapon that can buff a whole party's attack. and HH solo running isn't even bad, it's only like a minute slower in TAs. when I'm casual soloing I can keep pace with my friends no problem

I agree with you that styles and arts can fuck off and Lance probably needs something added to it, but what's your beef with Gunlance and Bowguns? Gunlance has quite a lot going on with the new heat system, and I was under the impression each shot type still plays differently enough that they're all interesting and suit different hunts better. I admittedly haven't touched it outside of guild much in Gens.

As far as bowguns go, are you just talking about the disparity between light and heavy? What would you suggest instead?

HH could definitely use a damage buff to bring it inline with the other weapons. I don't think having buffs should act as a tax on its damage, it's already fairly unpopular for being a relatively hard to get into weapon.

Opposed to that, you only get one from an incredibly annoying break and even then it's not guaranteed.

Really depends on your weapon, but I'd say WE (it's easier to get since it is already part of most of the good sets, and Spirit is harder to get than in 4U).

WE gives 50% affinity when hitting a weakspot (45+ hitzone).

C+2 gives 20 raw and 15% affinity when the monster is enraged (a nerf from 25/20 of 4U).

Since monsters leave rage faster, WE is more consistent and definetely a better choice, but C+2 still has it's uses (specially in solo with certain weapons).

Long story short, I picked up the CB this time round for MHGen, having a blast learning it but now I have hit a wall at HR6 trying to kill jho.

I'm using this video as reference for positioning and timings but a lot of times I can't get a stagger and end up trading hits in which I'm always at a disadvantage.

His lunge's fixed hitbox is great because it turned it into an actual attack, except it's still a shit attack because he overshoots the entire fight. It's just Rajang and Blangonga and arguably Nargacuga.
The crabs don't jump, but Generations made Ceanataur a joke of a fight. Tigrex doesn't jump for 90% of the fight, he just charges, throws boulders, roars and spins. His jump is the least common thing he does.
Ukanlos and Akantor don't jump, and there's really no reason to ever insult them because they're really low effort hunts without an actual surprise anywhere. Teostra just charges. Kushala likes flying more than jumping anywhere, and the only annoying thing about Kushy is letting its wind be a problem. Chameleos likes its invisible warp drive breath attacks, but that almost never actually hits you

Well /mhg/ I finished all quest in the game.
What should I do next?
Wait for MHXG so I could redo everything again?

I farmed and grinded shit to make the latest upgrades and weapons I can get for where I'm at (Village 6*)

But I'm still taking 10-15 mins to kill monsters and I'm not sure if I'm ready to go to guild and go to HR yet.

I'm using SnS any tips on more efficient killing?

For what it worth, my last hunt was the V6 shaggymaggy done in 8:45 using a dips edge striker sns. Is that decent enough yet for hub/high rank?

AuL is the only song that matters, as it's the only thing that will not make you dead weight. Hunting horns damage is pitiful. It lags behind everything else in TAs by a wide margin, including fucking Prowlers.

You want to try to maximize your damage. Look for a horn with natural white sharpness, high raw, and AuL. Tigrex fits the bill the best, Narga is okay too I guess.

Go for skills like weakness exploit, crit boost, etc.

Hellblade weapons are generally great, but the horn has relatively low raw for what it is. Tigrex is better than it.

Looking to get into bow. I heard that the important skills are weakness exploit, load up, normal up, true shot up, and that the only bow that matters is the teo bow. How does bow combat play out? Do people scope every shot or do they line up the shot before scoping so that they can aim at weakpoints that are higher or lower?
