The Nazis are more blatant yet pointless, Knuckles grapples with being treated as a Messiah for no reason and having no agency as a character, the villains are inept and petty babblers who aren't effective leaders, the council of vagueness gets their shit kicked in because that's all they ever did before anyway, etc.

It works on its own, but it's best read as Karl's dissertation on why the Knuckles book was shit and his attempt to redeem Knuckles as a character.

My first run of Sonic 2 that got me to Hilltop Zone
It was my longest run in my youth and the level just seemed so alien from the rest that it just stuck out in my mind as that weird level that felt like the beginning of the end, despite being about the halfway point if not earlier

I really want to like Colors, but it feels too easy, and the story feels a bit more juvenile than it needs to be. The 2D levels are lackluster and the 3D levels are too short. Not even the final levels or the final boss felt like a challenge.
