So how was GS back in 3U?
I played DB back then, and still am, but now that i started a new file and picked it up, it just murders everything so much quicker and oh my god do the hits have weight behind them.

If you join my charm farming room and you don't eat for explorer / have a guild set you're getting blacklisted.

so does charm farming need you to complete the quest as fast as possible or is it just autists who treat even gathering quests as TA bullshit

If I'm not mistaken then 3U introduced the GS' slap and 4U the swiping slash that follows a strong charge and allows you to combo endlessly.

Other than the moveset the GS never really changed. THere's nothing better than hitting a charging monster with a fully loaded charge, smashing his head in and sending it flying.

I made the mistake of starting with GS in MHF2 since then I just can't play any other weapons that don't have tons of weight to them.

LS, SnS, DB, SA and CB just feel so flimsy and useless

I feel like a lot of people being critical of the "eat for explorer" charm farming method have absolutely no idea how it works.

You do know it spawns you right near 4 red nodes, right?

CE+2 is 20% affinity. Critical damage is 1.25 therefore every 10% affinity = 2.5% mean dps gain.
Crit Boost bums up crit damage to 1.4, making each 10% of affinity worth 4% damage increase.
AuL is 20 raw damage bonus. To make CE+2 better than AuL you need to have a such a weapon that 8% of its raw would be greater than 20, i.e. 20/0.08 = 250 raw.

If it wasn't in a separate area you could cause issues by constantly changing armor and forcing people to reload it.

Even normal gameplay would cause issues if you were making a new set.

LS is pretty awesome in this game, the meter has been fixed and Adept doesn't trip your teammates as badly online. Striker and Adept are both used about equally in japanese time attacks so there's a lot of choice with your playstyle.

CB's paths to AED were gutted, otherwise it's mostly unchanged. I stuck with it personally but it does do lower damage than most weapons overall.

Let's say I have a long opening, what should I do here as GS with Crit Draw

Most of the time just draw charge and sheathe is the best. Doing a combo is only advisable if the monster MUST take a break afterwards or is on the ground. And even then, depending on the weapon load out (crit boost for example) you definitely want to sheathe that shit and draw charge again.

Forgot to mention, unlike some other weapons Elemental damage is important for DBs. Raw isn't that great, even as an overall, so if you want to be optimal you've got to swap around.

nah, taunt isn't very reliable, it only draws the monster to you a little bit more. and sitting there shielding while your friends hit the monster would go pretty slowly. if you really want to make it work, you might be better served trying taunt on hammer and using the taunt hunter art. ideally the face will turn towards you more often, which is exactly what hammers want. then you can KO as well, which will certainly help tank for your friends (also, aerial and paralysis on that hammer for maximum disables)

All I've seen is shitposting about the charm farming runs, people shilling reddit posts or whatever. It doesn't fucking matter. You say you'll get more charms/hour with one method or another, but in the end you'll never get the charm you want and you'll only piss off people wanting to play with you.

I've seen a lot of shitposting about "don't use X or Y weapon because it's shit in TAs". If any of you assholes put the time to actually read the fucking wiki, you'd see that the only consistently top tier weapon is Striker Lance and, even then, most weapons have a few minutes gain AT MOST in hunt time, making all this minmaxing and nitpicking meaningless.

there's not much to it. if you have a blunt weapon with aerial hits and paralysis damage, that's three disables you're charging. you need to get a feel for the timing of the build ups, but you can chain the disables. mounting is more or less on command, KO usually will activate quicker than paralysis. so usually you'll want build up all but the final mount hit and then fight until you get the KO. while the mon is KO'd youre gonna be hoping to see as much para build up as possible. then right as it's waking up, do the mount, and while it's down, build up more para. if you get enough procs, you can get the paralysis right there. and that paralysis will usually lead to the second KO. you can maybe get in another mount, but that's pretty much the end of the chain

It doesnt matter how good you personally are with a weapon when considering times. Its about how that weapon works with the enemy itself. You can be the best player in the world with weapon X but you will never beat the guy using weapon Y if he too is equally proficient and his weapon is better for that monster. The problem is that the HH doesnt really perform well against much in the first place.

So yeah play what feels right to you, but don't say a particular weapon is good against something when its not just because you can kill it in a moderate amount of time. Then it becomes meaningless because any weapon is 'good' for all monsters.

I'm so happy they fixed the radius on his blasts. He is infinitely more enjoyable to fight. I still loathe his fucking back up steps and am looking for a good position to ensure I can still charge attack them, but not getting blasted for free despite proper dodging is always a plus.
