Fights just raise hate points. That's it.
Hate points are ridiculously hard to get rid of. You can use grumble to convert them into dislike points, but going from dislike to like through benign conversation is very rng dependent. Your best bet is to kick her out of school and start fresh, but barring that you should grumble a lot and then try to rope her into group activities. You can cheat group activities by being in the same room as her when someone else initiates one she'll go to and tagging along (she will turn to the character proposing the activity if she is saying "yes."). just don't piss her off once she only dislikes you.

Once you get your feet wet, I recommend checking the pastebin and installing the HEXA mod packs and Texture Folder Hardlinker asap. They add tons of content including clothes, personalities, hairstyles, and other things. They'll let you use most characters that you'll find on the database.

How do I go about installing the Stocking Collection that uses the Alphachanneled Garterbelts? I did everything I was told but already ran into the problem that the files I need to open don't have the "Asp00_60_00_02_00.tga" files in them so I can't replace them. I inserted the textures regardless in those files but as expected they don't work.

The reason it works that way is because the lower graphics settings change rendering path for certain things from HW to software. These options are for compatibility with computer systems that don't support HW acceleration for certain things (pre DX9 cards?), and they are in the engine as a legacy leftover because Illusion has been using this engine for so long.

You can't realistically play the game on computers that those settings are useful for. So all it really does is it slows down the game. It's really just compatibility mode for old hardware.

I mean I haven't tested it, but I'm almost certain I remember seeing compatibility switches in the config which are ticked when lowest gfx settings are selected. Those will reduce performance.

the maker doesn't show slots above 138(unless you use AAFace) but the game loads up to 255. We figured out that like a year and a half ago so probably a bit after you left. HEXAHP is now the slots under 138 and HEXAOC is 138-255. It makes more sense now but there are still some char-specific hairs that have unrelated flips(e.g. Touhou hats).
2 clannads are by the same person. Apricot(Kyo) is more finished though but both are better than some AA1 ports.
By photoshop I meant just cutting out a character and slapping it on some background. Literally 5 minute work. If you use AA2Snowlfake I remind you to meka backups it suggest or you'll get low poly carting in your game and jesus poses in dialogue.

I couldn't get AA2Unlimited to work with the ASU launcher from the pastebin. I get the following error messages:

The ASU launcher is based on work from HongFire that translates the hardcoded texts that can only be found in the executables. It also does some additional HEX editing to enable gay and futa features.

AA2Unlimited does work with the Frontier Pack and vanilla launchers but it gets stuck after the "Now loading" screen and never gets to the main menu, instead you get a white screen. It can reach the main menu when I disable the "shadowing" feature.

And that's it. I don't know how the texture override rules work and can't try overriding pp files.

The game loads a save and starts playing, only that textures and colors don't show properly. In any instance a high poly character is about to show up, either in the clothes editor or an interaction, the game crashes. So hairstyles from HEXAHP or any other such mods don't seem to work. Girls with such hairstyles seem to default to the one the girl on the title screen has, in both their low-poly and interaction models.

I have all the DLCs, and I'm pretty sure I have all the mods needed. HEXAOC, needed xmls put into the correct folders in ReiEdit, etc.
Looking at cards with the incorrect hairstyles through ReiEdit, they have all the necessary slots available, but for front hair slots 54 and above are all the same as slot 0 (nothing). For back hair it's any slot 64 and above. (This is as it appears in the "generate thumbimage" thing on ReiEdit.)

I think I found the source of the problems, something stupid that happened in installation that resulted in me having a C:\illusion\AA2\AA2Maker (which I don't use) and a C:\illusion\ジンコウガクエン2 きゃらめいく (which I use instead). Sure enough, the proper files are all in illusion\AA2\AA2Maker\data, and not in \ジンコウガクエン2 きゃらめいく\data.

OK, I've figured out why the game is capped at 30fps.

It seems that playing the game in windowed mode for some reason introduces a 30fps framerate limit, but playing the game in regular fullscreen removes that, and the game runs at 60fps which I expect.

Does anyone else who use windowed mode realise this? Is there some way around this?

Would really love to have 60fps gameplay without coming to a black screen every time I tab out.

If you have a Nvidia graphics card, you can try enabling gsync on inspector for both fullscreen and window as shown here. Enabling gsync supposedly can improve frame rates by adjusting your monitor's refresh rate. The sviex files contain data pertaining verts position, UV map, bones and normals for all body types. That means that there is a different UV map for thin and chubby bodies and you must do the same update for the thin UV map as well for the changes to show on thin girls. The correct way to do it would be to:

1. Apply the thin sviex to the mesh and export it to the 3d editor
2. Apply the same changes you did to the normal body
3. Reimport to sb3u but don't bother to save the .xx file and just update the sviex.

Or the lazy way:

Copy the normal body UV map sviex to the thin body sviex.
