Like really if anything breaks him it is that. His other spells at least work, even if his W and R seem a little underpowered.
He's not a rightclick hero and firestorm is his only damage ability despite being a shrapnel with nerfed cast range, duration, and radius that doesn't slow.
Firestorm is the worst spell in the game in its current form.

Not sure what level you are playing at but effectively duolanes and trilanes mid are common in upper tiers. It simply does not matter how great you are at mid. You are the biggest squishy yummy bag of gold in the game as SF mid and SF has lost almost all ability to bounce back from ganks. Its why hes sitting near the very bottom in 5k+ games:

Her burst is physical from dagger, which is also why it benefits from blight stone at 1k range. Because she is melee she also benefits from both stout shield and quelling blade (the latter not so much).

In 1v1s, I could see SF still wrecking face. But if you get camped mid, which is all the rage right now by 1-2 other heroes, you will LITERALLY be worthless all game. And it will have very little to do with your skill at the game.
