Highly debatable, the spin that sends the energy whirl forward when you release it is extremely useful in actual combat. All the spear abilities are really cool though. Glad spears got a lot of love, shame I'm no longer using them now that there's a large variety of generated staves and wands.

And thanks for the compliment. I found the whole cowboy aesthetic of the Novakids to be silly, but I at least found some attire that looks nice with or without the cowboy touch. I play off and on with it, especially when its befitting the environment because I'm a fuckin' nerd.

Beforehand, I had the same philosophy, but I honestly was thinking of so many ideas all at once by the time I got up to the max level that I just said fuck it and kept most of the rooms empty and never really got around to it. It's better if you give decorating the first room a chance and just let the creative juices flow so you know what to get for next time around. Also the only reason I have a pixel printer so early, because I'd like to just be able to get the shit without having to rely on luck to actually get more than just a couple of copies of it.

I'm about halfway done with designing my ship, and I'm running out of ideas. I want the top left room to be the Captain's Quarters, I still need to fill out the left side of the bunk room, and I have no idea what to put in the room with the storage lockers and the AI. I also need to add some more small decoratives in each room.

Any ideas? Also, what do you folks think of it so far?

Try pushing for the AI room to be more informal/technical, and incorporate the lockers in that venue in some way to let the room flow nicely. The windows block decor up until they're blocked themselves, which is a godsend when you've got S.A.I.L and your personal locker to worry about.

For the left side of the bunk room, think of how a locker room usually is. Put some benches and other stuff in, maybe a full-body mirror or something along those lines (If that's even in the game, but I remember there being something close to it, so hell). Experiment with the walls and just get around to it. The best part is that that room's basic, so if you aren't satisfied with the design of it, you can fuck with the layout whichever way you like.

For the small decoratives, you're pretty solid on every single one of them (outside of the fact that there's no way to operate the crane for your container room). If you're bothered by it, give fucking around with the walls a try. You've got a ship design that compliments a whole lot of futuristic stuff that the game throws at you, so you can basically experiment and just see what works. It's best to go with stuff that isn't conventional, anyway.

Take note that I'm >>149990456 and I've got only a small idea on what Starbound really offers as I'm kind of just piecing it together as I go. I'm just giving you knowledge off of Terraria that I got from this point, so take some of the stuff I say with what you will.

I'm trying to avoid doing much else to the walls other than paint them as I haven't found any tiles with a texture that seems to fit the overall ship aesthetic. Every bug I knew about and some I didn't were fixed, grappling hooks are better, various quality of life enhancements and now natural materials hue-shift to the environment (and can be de-shifted with the paint remover) which is of course good for building shit that looks like it fits the biome

I actually go on RP servers like the filthy degenerate I am, so my character has a fair bit of backstory. Basically he's a Floran who left his tribe for better pastures and has been reduced to a pathetic mess of trauma and paranoia. To date, he has been shot, almost fatally stabbed in the neck, captured, beaten, blowtorch to the face, shocking implants applied to neck, forced to betray the people he cared about, lost his chief in a political assassination (She was a bitch who abused his trust anyway), was used as an unstable guard dog by a dickish mayor, lost his job and became homeless, lost his new home when a Floran invasion wrecked it, had to kill two child Florans in self-defense, was used as the manservant of a sociopathic Glitch businessman, escaped to another sector, was stolen from, beaten repeatedly, and was captured by Hylotl extremists to be killed, but he was so good at groveling for his life they just lit him on fire as a warning to the others. After that he was beaten and stabbed a few more times but its gotten a little bit better for him and he's slowly recovering. Unless something else happens. I'd call him lucky for surviving this long but given his condition I feel it'd be in poor taste.

This is really the fucking worst. We have all sorts of different inventory categories that let us hold dozens of different stacks, but then we need silly amounts of refrigerators to hold even modest amounts of cooked food + the raw food necessary to make it.

The food spoiling system doesn't need to be anywhere near as sophisticated as it is now. Just have like 4 tiers of rotting, make all food fall into a particular tier rather than have some invisible percentage determining how rotted it is. Then, every food in that tier can all stack; that is still just as balanced, eases inventory management, and would be easier to code.

To anyone having problems with the new build:
I'd you've manually unpacked the game assets, delete your 'unpacked' folder because it confuses the games and makes it crash on startup.

It's my headcannon that Glitches have personality glitches (pun not intended) due to their disconnection to the Hivemind

G4-LV35 (in short Galves) was a castle smithy when he felt his disconnection, he then became obsessed in acquiring and producing huge ammounts of weapons, of everykind

He blames the Protectorate for the destruction of Earth because they didn't fund his Planet Destroying Hand Held Cannon, it would "only" cost 28.5 Trillion Pixels, give or take a few

He wanders the Universe collecting, making, testing and selling weapons of all kind.
He dislikes Stationary weapons though, like cannons or Turrets. "What's the point of a weapon that you can't carry with you?"

Personality wise, he's pretty laid back and chill, but has little interest in things not weaponry related.

I spawned a Glitch female Tenant by the name of Goldwire, and if i manage to hire her as crew i will make a backstory for her too

Except it wouldn't actually since you spend the game planethopping looking for shit. It would get painfully tedious really fast, though it does all sound really good on paper. Though I wouldn't mind it on a seventh tier of planets with more diverse biomes, which would fix a lot of the things wrong with the endgame right now imo (like that to get t6 shit you have to explore fiery planets and nothing else, which is lame).

No, songs work perfectly fine on servers that don't have them, it's only mismatched mods that crash the game. There's frankly no reason why assets mismatch should be looking in the music folder, they're specifically designed to be able to be played on servers without them.

Consider this:
You're on a Starbound server, and there's a few people in the game. Typing out lines of erotic roleplay in the game - you'd be better off doing the same thing, but in a group chat, perhaps something such as Discord.
I can understand, "group" ERP, hence why I mentioned Discord, or any other kind of easily accessible group chat software.

Though, why does it have to be through the game? The game itself is very janky, and... I just don't quite understand it. It reminds me of TGstation, SS13 (on BYOND,) [note: erp got banned there] people would always ERP, and not want to, rather, take it to a text chat, where the possibilities for interaction/roleplay reach incredibly further than anything you'd be limited to in the game.

That's another major point.
You're very restricted in what you can roleplay within a game such as Starbound. This is not an issue through text. One-on-one, group chat - it doesn't matter; ease of story-telling is provided with pure text. Contextually, you'd have to force yourself (if you were good at roleplaying, at least) to fit within the confines of local area within the game, any kind of variables that might be in place in your environmental scope of the game at that current time.
Plus, the game is real-time, so there's that as well.

I just don't understand the obsession with ERP servers in videogames. There's much better ways to commit such lewd acts.

Love finding cool shit in this game, if only because I expected it to always have a lame borderlands weapon system.

Guided bolt lets you put down a bunch of markers, each one eating energy so I'm guessing this'll synergise really well with my energy field staff, and then lightning arcs between all of them instantly when you release the button. Ball lightning makes three orbs of lightning that follow the cursor, jumping rapidly to the cursor every couple of seconds and then hanging there for a couple more, like a clunkier but more precise swarm. Dunno what the damage is like yet.

Why are mods always for items and tools as opposed to things like bosses or dungeons? Usually the closest I see to those things is the addition of biomes, but those are usually only put into play for the sake of giving the player new materials. Does the death-punishment push people away from making lethal content or something? I don't want to sound ungrateful, I just don't see why there isn't a demand.

Also, are there any good quality of life mods? I hate how I can't attack while sliding down a wall. If I have a portal open via my staff and I jump into a wall, it starts a wallride and deactivates the portal. Being able to shoot and melee while on the wall would be nice too.

Rate the beginning of our incomplete farm. Story behind it, our ship crashlanded fleeing the opressive regimes of the core worlds before the ruin fucked shit up for everyone. Converted the ship and used parts to make turbines to power our house as well as commuincation relays to stay in touch with the.....degenerates.

All in all. We's just simple farmers.
