Yes because it's based off your character always looking north, so once the compass (the red part) is ponting north the controls work as W= Up, A=left, D=Right, S=Down if you press two keys at once your character runs or sprints well if you tap them a lot.

You can make macros to move super fast.

Open the macro menu, press f1 to record while tapping repeatedly in a direction and f2 to stop recording. Then go into the settings for that macro and increase the speed, x2 is more than enough for short distances.

Do this for all the directions and you're set. If you need to move really far you can increase it to x3 or x4. Any faster is bullet train fast and may get you soft banned.

I think these locations are 4 hotspots for the 4 listed pokemon and the bot will sometimes try to teleport there and get one, hopefully while evading a softban
I think a stop is necessary, since I heard that spinning a stop at 40hz forcibly unbans you

Sniping means that the game will teleport you to the location of a pokemon it finds and teleport you back to avoid the softban. It's a method people have been using for at least a week now.

The sniping feature seems to be pretty terrible because it snipes the same coordinates over and over again which seems pretty pointless. It also adds a couple seconds of delay which brings exp/h down.
