epic fail:The bonus round in arena favors Gods with the ability to knock back or throw opponents. The lava around the arena does do damage over time of around 500 points per tick for those caught in it. instant wipeout of other team of five. pvp cheese throw to win is bad game design.

I buy Iso gem to be able to use 2+1 and still slow my target. When i meet an other Freya eqquiped with Fatalis she just run away when she understand i completely outpower her. I just buy either Demonic grip or Enchanted ring as attack speed items depending on the penetration i need or don't need. It's as well interesting to confirm all 4 hits of her Ult.

I started near the end of season two but I play with a friend who has been with Smite since the first beta.

He almost gets misty-eyed when he talks about how everyone back in the day used to be interested in playing the objective and everyone was aware of their surroundings and asked smart questions and were generally good humored and willing to learn.

He also says that he has never seen such an influx of stupid, selfish, petty, egotistical players that don't help the team, feed their brains out, AFK at spawn and bad mouth everyone. He must always play Guardian now unless I'm playing Guardian because we cannot rely on anyone on our team being able to handle a team fight. Everyone just instalocks an Assassin, Mage, or Hunter because they want to see big damage numbers and they want to be babysat.

Winning games is an exhaustive chore for him, because he has to compensate for so many unbelievably stupid people that are playing these days. He's abandoned Conquest entirely its gotten so bad, and mostly plays clash with me now

I have both Sylv and Rama. I'm at 59 Gods owned last I checked. Sylv is fun, but even with heals, MP5 flowers and generally being an asset to the team, I always seem to get shit on for not "contributing to the team." Not Arena, mostly Clash/Siege. Rama has an interesting kit, but I just can not really get into the right mindset with him. I grabbed a few masteries on him, because I love the Orbital Drop skin, and that was it. The colour scheme is clunky, the armor is BLAND. The character is basically Wonder Woman, but with Earth Powers.

The armor is Roman themed, which is bland to the contemporary media consumer, but has some nice touches to it. Not every strong woman is Wonder Woman, she has strong differences in her body shape, especially in her animations.

Right, so I'm trying to get my head around building for the game at hand instead of just following the Popular tab while playing.

Bastet is my go-to Assassin because I find her playstyle fun as hell, but I have a few questions because I don't have it all down to a science yet. For example, I feel Transcendence is basically required because of how mana hungry Bastet can be, but I'm never sure WHEN to buy it. Like, if I don't start with it or build it second, I never feel pressured to buy it third, and by the time I'm at my fourth item I feel as if I'm building a stack item far too late in the game.
Also, I remember that Heartseeker used to be useless because it basically did piddly shit for extra damage, but now that it gives +50 power to abilities for 3 seconds (and thus good for jumping in, whip, knife, maybe cats, jumping out), is it worth a shit? Or still a never buy?
And lastly, and this I feel might be the most heretical to suggest, is buying Malice over Deathbringer a decent idea? I feel that even more bleed style damage would be worth it since Bastet isn't really good at chunking people down with basics like other assassins.

And unrelated to Bastet, when it comes to protections, what kind of damage split decides what type of protections to build? Like if it's 3 physical, and 2 magic, but the 2 magic are Sylvanus and Artemis, do I bother with magic protections at all?

Penetration items are usually the raw power items for ability based gods, since physical gods dont have items like Rod of tahuti or spear of Desolation. Sure you can try auto attacks items like heartseeker or stone cutting sword but you will usually leave the crits to the gods that get a couple AA speed items all the time.
