There is nothing more depressing than making a smurf and playing pre-30. That's because 1, you'll be matched against other smurfs that are potentially actually several divisions above you, and 2, you're paired against people who are several levels above you and summoner levels are a powerful power source because runes, masteries and summoner spells are locked down at first.

I get it that Riot wants stuff to be locked down so newbies aren't overwhelmed by choices, but that flies off the window when it pits you against people that have a distinct advantage over you from the get-go.

Why do new people take up playing LoL when they have to play literally hundreds of games to so much as play in a leveled field is honestly beyond me.

My post isn't complaining about smurfing being hard, I'm just using my experience smurfing to highlight how awful the pre-level 30 experience is for everybody. I mean, if it's that bad for a smurf, imagine how it is for an actual newbie.

You're already below in terms of skill, and Riot actually gives you a further handicap by limiting your access to masteries, spells and runes AND pairing you up against people who have more access to them than you.

You can get all your key fragments for a month in a very short span of time. Then they won't respawn until next month. It only starts resupplying them at the date you got the last fragment, and after that day the month after, you'll get more.

And of course, with the big gap between each chest you can get - it's basically just saying, "Buy some chests and use those keys while waiting for your S-rank chest cooldown to go away. ;)"

If they didn't charge for server transfers you could switch to BR or TUR, get tons of cheap IP, then transfer back to the US. Bot game. Not hardest or whatever, because your teammates will lose and you'll get less xp. Warwick. Bami's cinder->sunfire. idle at wolf or golems (if your team is intentionally getting you killed)
You need cinder to aggro the wolves and you can go fully afk until you die. come back from afk long enough to buy a sunfire and head back to wolves.

You're not really hurting anyone since bot games are so easy anyway.
Buy double boost, it will save you a LOT of time.

Start Gromp, wolves, and then either Scuttle or back and grab blue buff. Dont take W until level 4. You can legit hold off on that as long as necessary in certain team comps, but it does help you clear jungles a tiny bit faster. it's really not that simple. jhin performs better then higher the elo and is a staple pick in competitive games, are you telling me diamond/master/challenger players and proplayers just don't know how to counterpick? everybody knows how to deal with jhin, the problem is he actually ends up being extremely safe, he is a pickoff king (just like ashe) and he can deal extreme amounts damage from very safe distances

jhin averages some of the lowest deaths per game out of all ADs, while still outputting a ton of damage. he has amazing CC, a great lanephase, god tier scaling, range, hell his 4th passive shot can outsmite junglers later in the game. he is really well-rounded and really strong and his winrates + pickrates show

i'm using stats because 20% pickrate paired with 54% winrate is very well within the realm of "overperforming". the only AD that comes close to these levels of performance is ashe, and she takes a big dip in diamond because ashe is much easier to exploit than jhin

i used the proplayer argument to disarm your argument about jhin being just something you have to "counterpick". jhin is basically a constant, permanent pick in progames, if what you said where true (all you have to do is counterpick and he's a non-issue) then this would not happen, because the first and most important thing in pro play is safety. jhin has safety in spades, no matter how much people want to point out his immobility. he is somebody you can safely pick almost every game since he brings damage, CC, pickoff potential and is a great laner

it's anecdotal, but i play a shit ton of jhin, like legitimately my second most played AD. he is basically my go-to pick, i couldn't care less about what is on the enemy team right now. they could pick the tankiest, most engage comp they could think about and i still wouldn't think twice about picking him. thats his entire problem. he HAS weaknesses, namely bad dueling and immobility but they're just not exploitable enough because his strengths are so strong you end up being on the backfoot against him.

the issue crops up when you're challenger with challenger mmr and there's not enough other people with challenger mmr to fill a game, which makes the system put together a frankenstein game that puts masters players vs you, the challenger, together with d2s to balance out the fact that you're better than your opponents

obviously lack of players isn't a problem in lower tiers, so the problem doesn't occur unless you're playing on a dead server at 4 am on a weekday, in which case 3/10 people are smurfs anyway because how else is a challenger mmr player going to play league on OCE?

I'm missing 33 champs for 4800 IP so that's another 158400 IP I would need to spend if I want to guarantee an actual champ price reduction through shards.

That leaves 29 champs for 6300 IP (182700 IP total).

If I got those through shards for 5100 IP per champ each it would be a total of 117300 IP.
I would be saving 65400 IP in total.

I currently have 51601 IP and I would need to to grind 280799 more influence points to get ALL current champs.

I have 8 runepages and the usual runes bough during a price reduction but not every rune there is, like gold or death timer quints so some highly specialized builds would require some more runes.

Actually calculating the amount of grinding necessary to completely unlock every non-cosmetic thing in the game for free puts a perspective on things.
