I got my blaster to 150. Finally I can stop playing, it really wore me out. Bunker blaster was fun but everything else was awful and made me lose interest in maple again until the next big thing

Maplestory IS an MMO, you know. If I ask nicely, it's not that out of the realm of possibility to get a carry on a boss that isn't vellum. Plus there are tons of other people doing the diary too so i'm sure i'm not the only one that's gonna be doing this shit.

Fast advancement mostly. Other than that you have some interesting abilities that you don't spam which makes them more fun. I like the shields that fly around. You have some decent mobility and a good attack dodge. Then there's the fact that you can stand to take a lot of damage even on bosses with % attacks and potion cooldowns, half the fun is juggling your self heals to do great sustained damage.

I like them.

Not really, it totally lacks any form of vertical mobility aside from shadow web, which doesn't seem to do anything better than your vanilla jump. Basically every pirate but Buccaneer seems to be able to traverse a map faster than NLs can. Every Bowman moves faster than it. Every non-Explorer Warrior is more fleet footed. Mages have Teleport, etc, etc

Teleports in general are kind of clunky, and difficult to work with. Evan's can't do anything aerial, F/P and Bishop's are too short to go anywhere fast, Lumi's goes too god damn far and skips entire platforms, Kanna's takes forever to cast. BW has some weird teleport/flash jump hybrid that you're really just better off not investing in. BaM's really got the only one I'd compare favorably to Flash Jump.

Being able to cast FJ twice doesn't really seem that helpful for ordinary map movement, but the extra degree of reaction saves lives during bosses, not to mention everything about Dark Sight. You could do a lot worse.

Hey anons, i havent played in a few years in favor of not wanting to continue to kill myself. Is it worth getting back into it now? I left all the other times i tried getting back into it because the world felt so lonely and empty :(
I played since 07 (not regularly) but still wasnt able to devote myself to a class besides my thunderbreaker, and he only got to 90ish.
Anyways, back to the point, if i were to get into maple again today, what server should I play on if i want to play with you guys?

It's Raining Mines (IRM), Riu's I Choose You (ICY), filter fade, and the familiar hack were the most widespread hacks for exp gain - the familiar hack being used by like half the playerbase.
The best non-hack for exp was the hilariously broken Sidekick system from 2011 that could get you a Lv120 character in an afternoon.

IRM or "It's Raining Mines" was a hack for Wild Hunter that would mass spawn bombs all over the map, essentially insta-killing monsters. It exploited a skill by the same name that was supposed to drop bombs under the WH as they walked around.
ICY was another Wild Hunter hack that abused their ability to summon monsters. The hack gave your summon a full-map attack. The best part was that it could be done at any level, on any level mob. So a level 10 Wild Hunter could go to Temple of Time and just let the summon kill everything on the map for massive exp. This was paired with a hack that would swap any summoned monster for a Pink Bean, which was the strongest summon available at the time.
That's the reason why Wild Hunters used to be called Wild Hackers.

Sidekick was a short-lived event(?) from 2011 where one player (under lv120) could "Sidekick" another player (over lv15). You, the Lv120 player, could then bring your Lv15 sidekick to a high-level map, and that Lv15 sidekick could gain 40% of the exp of the monsters you kill, despite the massive level difference. All the while the higher-level player does not lose out on any experience gained, but rather receives bonus exp for having a sidekick in the same map. It was a win-win scenario for both characters, and the sidekick would be able to level up obscenely fast. I still have the medals that you could get for leveling up as a sidekick.

it is entirely the reason why. I can't find video on it but man I was logged on that day and the chat was flooded with "congrats on 200!" among other things. I actually leveled my current i/l mage to 160 using that exploit, and never got banned.
