Depends on the item. It's really easy for anything your level and below, but you know how this game scales levels above you.
Enemies in the dungeon are about the level of the item's item level (which is different from the equip level) So something for 120s might have an item level of 143 and have enemies about that level in it.
Enemies get stronger over time and the time it takes is related to the number of stars and color of the item.
Also the cost to awaken it is 3k * the number of stars * whatever the quality is(x1 for white, x2 for blue, x3 for purple, x4 for orange), so bring enough talt to cover that cost at least.

I don't know debuff multipliers for VS, but it might be 1 point wonder. If multipliers are good and lot of debuffs will affect it, this 450 additional atk multiplied by debuffs and 100% from attribute might be worth it. It's still below even half of the base atk which puts me off from maxing this skill.
Difference in atk for Catar per skill level are bigger due to more levels. If you used lvl3, which is like 270 atk, lvl10 is like 666 iirc, and maxed is around 1000.

I'd rather dump these points into either Catar, Moulinet or Cross Cut. Armor break status lasts for longer than Skull Swing cooldown and status always drops defence to 0. It also hits once which is shit.
Mouinet on the other hand has like 5 hits and high crit chance, and Cross Cut and Catar Stroke are ones of the most used skills in your inventory with Cross Cut being rather just enabler for Skyliner, and Catar being really good on its own to the point it doesn't drop hard when you change classes.

Crown is for near 100% uptime for magic bosses. In PvP people would probably drop faster than duration and no idea if I'd ever get close enough to inflict it anyway. Also if Vertical Slash will now be worth taking and debuff mods are good enough, additional source of debuffs when Zucken is on cooldown is always nice.

you are underestimating how useful skeletons are. necromancer can summon a bunch of objects like skeletons, shoggoth, bats, ts, and other things which not only cause you to lag making it easier for them to kill you but they also destroy people who use controller/keyboard cause targeting becomes a mess.
it's not just about damage but what else you bring to the table. flesh cannon is 20 seconds while you cd is 2 minutes.

I am here watching the thread, I just can't play. Guilds with multiple templars are a thing now, they enabled passing guild leadership on the latest patch. Problem is, they made Templar shit, so nobody wants to have one unless it's for the sake of creating a guild.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I think they reduced GuildMemberRecall's cooldown to 15 minutes in kTOS. Is that right? And I wonder if it works inside the GvG arena. Either way, it's hard to justify bringing the actual Templar character to the GvG arena. It just doesn't bring enough benefit to justify not bringing something else.
