One of the missed opportunities I feel like in Sonic is giving characters multiple outfits. Amy Rose makes a huge character design change (larger than anyone else in adventure) and changed her hair and outfit. Then there's rouge who, between Adventure 2 and Heroes changed her costume, only to go back to her original in '06. I just feel it'd be nice if some of the characters changed outfits between games. Think of sonic as a character who was created solely with the concept of 2D in mind. His side mouth is fine from most perspectives, you just have to cheat it. ie. if sonic is facing you, he should have either no mouth or his mouth will gravitate to the center. His mouth should pretty much always face the camera. The point is, is that sonic is designed like a cartoon and should follow cartoon rules, rather than trying to follow realistic guidelines.

Extremely bored so I decided to make a release order listing of Sonic related media in case anyone wants to do that with their Games, DVDs, & Comics. I'm using my collection as a base (I don't have everything)so things may be missing here or there. I'm using Graphic Novels as priority, filling in here or there when needed. TV Shows were based on initial episode release. Kinda got lazy at the end with not wanting to fit Sonic X comic releases. Let me know if I fucked something up or missing something.

1. Start with a circle, obviously
2.I start by just drawing the eyes. I tend to gravitate more to an early dragonball toriyama style. I leave space at the bottom for muzzle.
3. I define the muzzle area. Usually just ( ) at the bottom of the eyes. Try to get it to follow the curvature of the head. Amy and sonic's muzzle's are more soft curve while tails is more of a pronounced curve and knuckle's muzzle kinda come to a bit of a point
4. Add a nose. In this case, amy has a button nose but sonic himself has more of a elongated nose. I should note that I tend to stop at this stage because I like the mickey mouse-esque style.
5. Add curves beneath the eyes and then connect the bridge between the two eyes. This part gives it the "mono eye" appearance sonic's somewhat known for.
6. Finish up. Usually I have to adjust the eyes, muzzle, and nose a bit to fit the character more, and then add all the features that makes the character look like distinct, like ears, hair, folds over their eyes and mouth.

This isn't really the "RIGHT" way to draw sonic characters. More like "My way". I basically just draw them how I draw most other things and just applied it to sonic than tried to copy the sonic style.

When the game went off the market I finally nutted up and bought Amy and Rouge and did roulette until I ran out of red rings.

I used to play Sonic 3 & Knuckles all the time when I was younger on the PC version to which it's practically muscle memory now.

Is anyone else excited for the Sonic Lego pack? I had my reservations at first but watching that video really changed my mind. Once you get use to the look it seems cool. Not to mention the idea of getting to use Sonic to run around all the other worlds seems like a blast. I don't even own a system to play it on but I plan to get a Wii U once the price drops and before that I will be grabbing up a few of those Lego Dimension packs before they get dropped in favor of the new stuff and the online prices skyrocket.
Also if the first Sonic pack is a success which characters and vehicles would you like to see in follow up packs?
