I assure you that's not how it works anymore. Quick March > Shoot Polka > Fall Nocturne is the current best combo on most bosses. Orchestra is only really used if you're running low on PP or when you don't want to move and Rhapsody is a mostly used for the movement, not so much the damage. Right now, heavy use of Nocturne is incredibly strong and you will be running into many situations where you will need to use your other PAs because of it. Sarabande, Scherzo and Fugue are the only PAs that mostly useless or too situational to use properly. Waltz is okay but S.Drive mostly does the same thing.

TD Air Chase has made TD into a completely different weapon mechanics-wise but it's mostly because of Fall Nocturne. I personally think that TD is the most fluid Fighter weapon and makes use of the majority of the PAs it has well but it's pretty hard to do so effectively because it's all about height control now. I really suggest messing around with it but obviously, I'm not one to tell you what is and what isn't fun for you.

If you meant when and where to use your PAs, there's a bit too much to list but my post about TD is a rough summary I guess.

For Knuckle, most of the time you will be using Flicker > BHS because BHS is simply too far ahead of the other PAs to not use but not strong enough to spam without Tech Arts unless it's a weakpoint that isn't active for long. Surprise Knuckle and Straight Charge is what you want to use to position yourself when the boss moves a little bit, Knuckle Chase is also great for that. Pendulum/Ducking Blow are only really used for the i-frames and Flash Thousand is used for the super armor.

Double Saber is usually only used for mobbing, Charged Tornado Dance and Chaos Riser are what you will mainly be using for that. Acro Effect (can guard things), Deadly Archer and Rumbling Moon are useful for picking off single mobs or just something to use to activate Tech Arts. Using Surprise Dunk with TPS and Charged Tornado Dance act as a gap closer but using it more than once at a time is somewhat slow. Illusion Rave when you're hitting something beefy but only use it when you can get the entire PA off since a good chunk of the damage is on the last hit (also activates a 2nd whirlwind). Charged Deadly Circle Type-0 is only good when you want to guard things or activate 2 whirlwinds from the ring, never use it uncharged unless it's an emergency.

I'm not too good at explaining any more than that since the majority of it can't really be explained and comes from experience.

Outliers definitely cause huge problems with BHS being the worst one for Fighter as a whole. If BHS didn't exist or did roughly the same DPS as the other PAs, you would be able to use pretty much any PA you want and not lose any DPS. TD and Dsaber only need a couple PAs buffed to be able to say the same. That being said, there are some outliers like Fall Nocturne that I would call an outlier done right because it is near impossible to constantly get an optimal amount of hits (5 hits in 45F is possible for around 2300 DPS) since it needs a ton of positioning just to be able to work properly and it feels real good when you're able to do so. BHS doesn't really require any effort and can be spammed endlessly until your PP runs out whereas Fall Nocturne needs you to regain the height and spacing that you lost from using it beforehand which is making you use the other PAs that you have available.

Sword and Wired Lance feel pretty balanced. Even though Ignite Parrying and Holding Current are on top by a somewhat large amount, they aren't something that can be spammed at any time so it would be a bit silly if they weren't high up there. I'm not sure how SEGA can look at something like Katana and honestly say it's okay when it has one PA that is the best to use 90% (might be exaggerating a bit here) of the time.

Just a bit of a fantasy I guess. I don't feel like it's worth hoping for something that will probably never happen. I always complained (and still do) about things that I want fixed and a very big chunk of the things actually did get fixed so I have kinda toned down my bitching. There's still stuff in the game that has yet to be fixed since OBT like Heavenly Fall not working if the mob dies while grabbed or Grapple Charge not working properly on slopes. I keep getting the feeling that they are understaffed or something.

Weekly Zieg crafts COs (one reason why multiple characters is a good thing) for about 11-12 of his seals which you can convert to lambdas at 1:1.

Casino sells 20 for 5K CC per week. There's Solo XQ but I wouldn't recommend it since it's 5 XQ passes per run and it'll annoy you if you die.

Other than that; you'll get around 3 from gold Magatsu keys, Gal Gryphon can drop them in XH Beach wars and there are probably some other things that give you them.

At least in the early days I could approach the mission counter and fell like there was something actually worth doing at any given time.

Or hell even a little past EP1 I could at least pretend there was some benefit to getting good gear as if I took part in an organized party we could at least get more runs per EQ than a normal PUG.

Now not only is a majority of relevant content locked behind scheduled only events, but they have now even put a limit over how many runs you can get, making the effort of obtaining well crafted gear and playing optimally almost meaningless.

I really can't see how content being treated like active hand-outs by the developers is in any way better than the relevant content being available to the player at any time while the EQs were treated more like the icing on the cake.

Not this anon but I started playing this game at the end of Episode one but still think they were much better at giving incentives than they are right now with endgame content.

I enjoyed running AQs in hope for a Gunbraver or a Jinrai or a Geki to ever drop, while still being motivated to run Wind and Rain in 2013 for Yas9k or running Elder in hope for any 11* (all of those never dropped btw)

I had stuff to do at any moment.

Right now it's like only newer players or players with alts leveling up that are interested in stuff like collection files, I still feel like there's nothing for us Austere/Ideal/Orbit owners.

Ultimate Quests should have never been MPAs to begin with, if anything UQs should have been an evolution of the initial idea of XQs, harder than normal 4 man content.

Make it structured enough that you actually had to worry about your gear and deaths because you didnt have 11 people with your back, it would have also made things like party composition something you would consider. (Reverser field would sound like a much better skill when you dont have 72 revives around.)

Or at the very least develop UQs as you would a structured raid, instead of just a glorified Free Field with more aggressive mobs.
