How do you guys handle food storage in vanilla? I have enough to fill 9 1/2 fridges, mostly because I always use raw produce before storing it. But on a ship, that many fridges is really difficult to place well, and a whole section dedicated to food storage is hard to work with, too. I'd get the food stacking mod, but I don't think sytes uses it.

I only keep two fridges full of ingredients and do quick hunting runs for meat before doing anything. I cook around 8-10 different foods and it usually lasts me two trips on a planet. I have a couple chocolate bars and like 30 mushrooms as backup just in case but I never really have to touch em. I don't know why people need like 10 fridges and other crazy shit like that.

When can I get more space on my ship? how much grinding does it cost? Should I spend money on a hoverboard? there is no way of me even getting that much money easily.

Yeah, they ask you. You'll see some villagers change outfits into tacky versions of the Protectorate garb which are colorized according to race, and whenever you pass close to them they'll mention out loud in a speech bubble that they're looking to join up. Then you press E on them to initiate the dialogue to see their profession and rank and the option to take them. If you aren't getting any, it may be a bug; try leaving the planet and flying to another one, then coming back.

I spent the past hours messing with the ship.
So far I made a room for the crew to hang so they don't clog the upper floor and a generator room, if the panel is off, all ship lights turn off and the red lights go on.

The mysterious set has bare minimum stats for a tier 6 set in all categories (meaning all specialized sets are identical to it, but with one stat boosted up). Its a good thing to compare to but not worth using at all.

The perfect set has an additional 6th (mysterious stats each times 1.16666) of each of the three main bonuses, and has 82 defense instead of 80.

Manipulator has an additional 5th (mysterious damage times 1.2) of the minimum damage bonus you can get, meaning it only gives you a tiny bit more attack than the perfect set. If you're willing to admin in items, its not really worth using over the perfect set. If you're just running around in admin mode though, it's technically the best since damage is the only stat that should matter to you, and a lot of people would argue its more important stat in general.

Separator has 2 times default health bonus, and lasts longer than the perfect set. It also takes more heal back to full though, and it lacks the defense bonus; ideally adding defense would be more effective if you could get enough since it wouldn't make you require more healing, but the perfect set doesn't add enough to pass it in terms of lifespan.

Accelerator has 2.5 times the default energy bonus and gives you significantly more juice than the perfect set, meaning its a viable alternative if your weapons actually consume energy. Also, your bar recharge time is always the same no matter how large your pool is.

The closest you can get to the perfect set ingame is a separator head, manipulator chest, and accelerator pants. You get +78% hp/energy and +331% attack. Perfect gives +70 to hp/energy and 350 to attack, and has 82 defense instead of 80 (bear in mind default defense is zero so you can't think of it like the other stats; with 100% defense you're invincible).

For reference, chestplates always make up 50% of the set, helmets are 30, and legs are 20.

I didn't even know you could make your ship a colony but that works too. I meant build a little shithut on a planet somewhere and do a couple quests for whatever npc you get and then be on your way.

Also a side note, if you get a quest to kill a strong NPC, they'll say they'll surrender if you get their HP is low enough. If you put away your weapon they'll ask to join you or take out a stronger weapon than they were using before and try to kill you

See, the way chucklefuck made those frogs and alpacas is, they aren't actual individual sprites. Rather, regular npcs in costumes.

Before 1.0 I had at least those up and running, but for some reason when i test it on the current version, everyone just ends up naked. No idea why. Would love some tips on what's going wrong.

Penguins should be an easy change, though, since they have their own super simple sprite sheet, but there's also all the penguin object-npc's you see in the Outpost i'd want to change too.

The furnishing shop is done though.

For anyone new joining the server, please do understand that the server takes a good 10 seconds to find you a planet since franklin has the dirty habit of making half of the universes planets into rust and junkyards.

This isn't based around CPU usage or RAM, just a flat out slow search.
