I too am an uncreative. I look at other people's settlements for inspirations after I exhaust my ideas.

If it helps, try to think of a purpose for your vault. Why is it there? What kind of people live in there? What faction does your protag belong to, and how would the vault be useful to them? Why would people live in a vault? What kind of people does your protag allow into the vault?Those sort of questions.

Also, designing one really detailed room and branching out from there can sometimes help.

There's some little stuff. There's three minigames, three quests to get uncursed versions of the weapons, and a few little side things to get some smaller rewards and resources.
The main quest you could see being played through on my stream, it's about the size of Dead Money, but there's a bunch of side content and dungeons you can do to get better endings.
In truth, it's big, but not that big. Wheels of Lull is definitely bigger for sure.

Just got to play vault dlc.

When I make the bike generator and hook up a terminal, the terminal is stuck on the "initializing" text line and just sits there indefinitely.

As much shit as we give BEthesda, they have gotten significantly better the last few games.

Oblivion and Fallout 3 were habitual for crashing every 2-3 hours like clockwork even when fully patched.

Skyrim and Fallout 4 on the other hand
-Zero CTDs
-Zero broken quests(at least broken in a way that I noticed)
-No save game corruptions yet
-No instances of enemies getting half cuaght in the terrain like happened ALL THE FUCKING TIME with Fallout 3 and NV

At worst, I've had minor bugs like dragons flying backwords for a week or two, and settlers not equipping their god damn pipboys.

Compare that to Daggerfall which was so broken even BEthesda admitted it was unfixiable, and yeah, they have gotten miles better

I would argue that its not even that BEthesda is bad at using it.

The single biggest problem with Bethesda game is their size.

Bethesda games have the scale of something like GTA, or a small MMO, but usually have far more interactivity with the world then either of those games usually allow, with players being able to pick up every piece of cabbage or mutfruit in the game world.

Have you ever seen an MMO at launch? They are buggy pieces of shit that are beyond poorly optimized, every fucking time.

Even fairly basic games like GTA are known for bizzare bugs like enitre parts of the map disappearing into voids and shit.

The simple fact of the matter is, when you make a game that large, theres no way its NOT going to be mountain of bugs and poorly optimized features.

To be perfectly honest, its actually kinda surprising how NOT buggy Bethesda games are compared to game of equal size and interaction

Peacekeepers sit in affiliated settlements with a radio to call for support, handle local issues like a policeman. Recon are scouts, keeping an eye on threats and possible threats. Engineering build and maintain shit, from weapons, to primitive fortifications. Logistics hand supply lines for both the Minutemen and affiliated settlements, work with local traders as required. Infantry are bodies with weapons that keep the other groups protected and push back against organized threats.

Air force is there to provide support, recon and to drop off special forces where they are needed.

They had an entire mobile crawler and surrounding airforce base full of Enclave tech, they were literally sitting a resource piles only matched by stripping the Institute or Big MT.

We also know that while building the Prdywen the BoS was able to successfully enact an expansionist military campaign to areas outside the Capital Wasteland.

They had plenty of resources, and still do.

In game events also show us that the BoS indeed does not have the logistics to sustain the Prydwyn in the Commonwealth without local support. That leads me to believe the logistics chain may be weak, and that supplies may be stretched.

There's this one mod that allows an independent menu for most unique DLC structures. I think it's called "All DLC Building Independent Patch" or something.

I'm using it right now, and it works pretty good for all the structural options, though some of the new furniture/lights/power options will be selectable under the default menus (i.e. vault power conduits, vault power sources, etc.). All of the experimental stuff will be selectable in a special menu in the root settlement menu, and the refined versions will be under the DLC categories.

Just be sure to not use the "integrated" version when you install it, as I've heard that it can make some of the Vault-Tec options disappear.

Even with all of the circumstances you listed it's still just as possible they have no ties to the former military whatsoever. I've been playing New Vegas for 12 hours on Windows 10 (Steam, Ultimate Edition, latest patch) and I only crashed 2 or 3 times in that 12 hours, but now I'm in Freeside and I'm crashing every fucking 5 minutes, either the game freezes and audio keeps going when entering / exiting buildings or I get the infinite loading screen when entering / exiting buildings.

I'm playing completely vanilla, no mods, no 4GB.exe or NVSE loader. Launching from Steam. This is really pissing me off, and I can't just alt tab or open task manager for whatever stupid reason, I'll control alt delete and it pops up fine but when I click task manager it shows a black window that cannot move or be exited and my task bar and I have to sign out or shutdown the PC to fix it.

I'm about to lose my shit over here and just start playing Skyrim again, at least that doesn't crash.

Robot settlers are always at happiness 50 so they'll lower the average yes. I generally keep all my robits in one place at grey garden.
My "lab" so to speak is at castle. I nice little warehouse with the robot facility and a bunch of electronic displays for muh immersion.

I have my settlement supply lines pretty clean, with a central location in each quadrant where all minor settlements supply to, which then connects on a single path between all settlements.
Starlight is the center of this trade route, where all my entertainment and most of my best shops are. Also my arena is there.

Couple of things that urk me the location doesn't make sense, the layout doesn't fit the world above a quarry has an subway wut? No new vendor type I really don't like the wooden vendor stores. The misleading/backtracking of being able to modify the looks of your settlers and only one freaking vault it feels so dumb building vaults above ground wish there was more locations to built at

The problem with the minutemen is that it focuses on the farmers too much. The farms are in constant danger and they are spread across the wasteland. What' kind on wanker takes his already small forces and spreads them thinner yet?
The minutemen needs to start at sanctuary. Build it up, fortify it. Start convincing your local farmers to move out of their homes, move into it. This may mean you might have to do something like NOT rush to their farms whenever they get attacked. Raiders fuck them in the ass, they give up their land and settle at sanctuary. From there you get preston to train them while continuing to establish sanctuary as a solid fortification. It's far enough removed from any major players that mobilizing anything more than a small band of raider would be a pain in the ass. Then you make a bid to retake the castle with your small militia. You retake it, and put some backs into rebuilding and reinforcing the walls. Then you go back to whiteknighting for farmers and use your faux-military to guard and maintain supply lines - most notably with sanctuary, but also with any other farmer out there. Then you do a buncha shit at once. Open trade routes with bunker hill and diamond city. Re-enlist the raiders at Libertalia for some actual spine and set them up at the castle. Get sturges to run a production line out of the castle and begin arming your troops with better weapons than crank lazers. Hit smaller raider gangs, steal their shit and distribute portions of it to the wastelanders while keeping the lion's share in your armory. Then wage war on the gunners.

First thing I do as I enter is drop my NCR Ranger equipment, as I know I won't make it alive if I walk through the entire place.

Then, once I blow everything up, the Sentrybots are out to get me. I manage to hurt two of them using a Pulse Grenade. Earlier on I had to reload after I got killed by robots (and after killing ED-E as well with a Pulse Grenade).

So there I am, rads going up far too quickly, and using Pulse gauges with my M37. In the end it's just one Securitron standing between me and the exit door. Since I'm heavily RP in this playthrough, I said "I won't leave until I destroy it".

Turns out these fuckers have too much DT, to the point my M37 with the Shotgun Surgeon perk barely hurts them. We manage to kill it just as my rads is about 930. I walk to the door that is nearby, and manage to exit with ED-E alive, but with my radiation on the 970's (that is, almost dead).

And only to find out there's not one fucking doctor in the Fort, meaning I got to travel with my Strength -3 (or -2) because of the radiation poisoning.

Shit.

I'm kinda surprised that Bethesda isn't making a Broken Steel type of expansion for FO4. There's a decisive victory over the Institute or BOS depending on who you ally with, but the story still felt a little incomplete even after those missions.

Far Harbor on the other had can easily get you 15+ hours, and Nuka Wold is looking to be the size of Danwguard or Dragonborn, so that could get you another 12+.

-The enemy faction(s) are dead.
-Your chosen faction takes their place as defenders of the Commonwealth, and begins appearing at various checkpoints around the map.
-Diamond City starts flying the flag of the faction you chose, giving them a massive boost in support.
-Travis and other generic NPCs start talking about your faction's victory.
-Several plot threads such as the Mayor being a synth get resolved.

Given that one of the factions have any plans for nation building, theres not really anything else left for them to do besides their daily stuff.

You'll need the vault conduits to do that.

As far as I know, the vault parts will transmit power to any part of the vault so long as they're connected to the unscrappable front entrance, but you won't actually be able to power anything unless you have a vault conduit nearby.

Literally every Fallout "spiritual succesor" had barely anything in common with Fallout.

Wasteland 2 is about moral choices in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, but that's where the similarity ends. It doesn't have the same humour, the same writing, and the factions are so similar to Fallout's (on account of them being based on Wasteland's) that I can't help but feel I'm playing a cheap Fallout knockoff.

Need some context on this.

All I remember is that in New Vegas, you are told "servos do all the work", so yes, it doesn't need training. But then again, it was more like a suit you put on.

Fallout 4 completely overhauled Power Armor, where it seems more like a vehicle. And like any vehicle, I don't think "even children" could use it with no training.

It has an integrated computer, and utilizes servos to boost the output of the user's motions - fuck that up, and you break a limb if you're not used to how the armor works. Since it's pretty clear that the PA is supposed to be one size fits all, it would have to be something you'd get used to using. To that end, both tanks and PA are incredibly complex machines that likely require some degree of training before it can be used.

I've built a vault with two 10 person bedrooms, two bathrooms, a cafeteria that can seat 20, a workout room that can hold around 16 people, a classroom, a small store/storage room, an overseers office, a security room outside it, a louge area with a deck overlooking part of the cave I've turned into a basketball court, and a clinic, on top of a mutfruit farm over near the big water purifier machine, as well as defences for all this, and I still have plenty of space left over.

The PA is a one-size-fits-all design, and not everybody has the same range of motion. That's something a user would have to be able to account for.

The only reasonable explanation I could think of for needing training in a Power Armor FO4 style is maybe because the gauntlet's work like the Starcraft Marine gauntlets, in that it's an armature you grasp with individual pressure levers dedicated to the finger actuation.

And that seems like it'd actually work out really fucking well, and not require much training due to hand gripping being a gross muscle movement rather then fine motor.

One time in skyrim My character performed the decapitation kill animation as a mge did a heal+teleport and they appeared without a head and a bit of health. I did the same animation again and a head spawned during the animation just to fly off so there were two identical heads on the floor.
