When should I start doing Special Permit quests? Tried Redhelm Arzuros as soon as I unlocked him and got my shit pushed in. Me and my girlfriend finally beat him after we killed Astalos and made some weapons out of him, but it still took 20 minutes with us two. Green sharpness and everything bounces off of him. If you're comparing the final forms of the Narga and deviant Narga weapons, taking the IG as an example:

180 raw 40% affinity = 198 raw
190 raw 15% affinity = 197 raw

They're about the same by themselves, but the deviant one has longer white, while the normal one has higher natural affinity, which makes it slightly more powerful if you compare the both using the same set (AuL, CE+3 or Crit Up).

So it's the same dilemma as Hellmeme Glaive and Dalamemedur was in 4U. One is best in shorter hunts or multiple mons hunts, while the other is better for longer runs or HP sponges.

His head is a 65 damage zone and his neck is 70, In addition his head isn't a danger zone as much as Jho or Uragaan, so pounding his his big soft head in is really easy. Plus if you roll adept his attacks are all so honest and unambiguous in where and when they will hit you that even a scrub can mash roll and get perfect dodges all the time.

When I get knocked down, wait it out, get knocked down, wait it out, get knocked down and die

my character should automatically just break 2 body parts and get full health. If the monster is going to do that, then it must be punished for it's sins.

Literally every death I get is being killed from full health. Gore magala, zinogre, serg, all they do is body camp, slow monsters with easy tells and they body camp as a crutch and are allowed to get kills on hunters through cheap means, nerf it.

it needs a nerf. I'm literally about to edit my game and give them 0 damage for their insolence.

Actually yes, I am looking to get into Bow soon because I am just tired of the bullshit. Bowguns are too much work though. The only thing stopping me is I have no idea what low rank armor to go for as a gunner, so I'm procrastinating and clearing village shit with Switch Axe/Lance.

Striker Lance is great, you can just spam charge to keep in range and do your traditional triple poke dodge, and you get 2 "oh shit" buttons in Shield Rage and Absolute Evasion. Meanwhile Switch Axe should just be called Switch Sword because why would you ever leave sword mode anymore when you can pop fast recharge whenever it gets low? Broken as fuck.

I'm at Village 5 and need to kill the Uragaan for its lava nuggets to upgrade my weapons. But my weapons are green sharpness at best and more than half my attacks just seem to bounce off.

Does he have a weak spot? Is there a strategy to taking him down effectively, because it feels like I'm fighting a giant steamroller with a rubber chicken.

Recoil Down is always good if it's not Some recoil, Precision if it has deviation, Load Up is always good.
