Dominions is a fantasy turn-based war game created by two dudes. One of them is a teacher.

The game combines a simple presentation with an extremely wide array of strategic options, including over 2800 units, 800 spells and 300 magic items. Turns are resolved simultaneously, with players planning battles rather than directly controlling them.

It has simplistic graphics but is easily moddable and extremely deep.

Basically, it's an autist’s wet dream of a war game.

I hope Oceania/Atlantis/TNN are on their way to save you (and all of us) from the batmageddon.

Abysia, if you hear this, you can reach bats from the cave. They didn't take Cold 3 like some fools, and every sane person should give you a wide berth so you can shove some Burning Ones up bat ass.
>>
>>149696840

i asked people to hire me to rush dangerous blood nations.
i reiceived no gold, zero fucking incentives, so why would i try to defeat the strongest(lanka built against me, bats can gameover me because i have mapmove 1 and he has flying map move 3) nations out there when i can eat some mediocre neighbour ?
do you really expect me to move my precious sacreds 6-7 turns away from my cap to conquer provinces i will never be able to keep?
>>
>>149697301
I presume by mediocre neighbor you mean C'tis or Machaka? Hinnom can cause you issues, Lanka (as you said) built against you, so those would be the two best options.

I'm sure you can kill the Africa nations before bat's get to Ozzies. And it's Flatus Bats too, so not exactly some strategical genius.

>>
>>149698186

It means there was already a site there that doesn't need searched to find. Sites are generated at game start. A majority need searched out in order to find them, but there are some that are always revealed.

Sites are generally always in effect, even if you haven't found them yet. This means if you expand into a province with no dominion, and notice that it has unusual scales, you can frequently use that to narrow down the location of a site. The mod inspector lets you filter sites by their effects on scales.

Except for the sweet sweet gems
>>
>>149698186

nothing in particular aside for the fact it's there.

many sites can be added by events ( that can happen to indipendents too). press i to read event history of the province. Some sites have events linked to them ( for example mist covered highlands sometimes get swarmed by air mages).

Many sites require no magical path to discover. They are "free"!

Right. Still looking for an MA Arco sub. Our current one is apparently having trouble looking at Barbarians because something something sprites are fucked(?).

Might be a Summod error common to everyone, but I'm not 100% on that.

Arco, if you could provide further detail and the exact error message that'd likely help getting you sorted out. I need to collapse now, but I'll get to responses tomorrow morning, if you reply to this post. Have extended the timer again so you can avoid staling until we work out what the hell's going on.

yes, you need to empower your mage. unfortunatel it's gonna take a while in summod ermor.

you could also go for construction 4 and craft yourself a skull staff, which given the delayed D gems gain of summod it might be worth it.

it's not worth it to summon multiple spectator( u guess one would be fine) to research faster, i'd rather empower. run math to discover what's faster and by how much.

He's bats, lording it over the world since he got to eat 1/2 of Abysia/Agartha/Ulm for free, along with all of Mictlan/C'tis.

>That point when you're more than 100 gems ahead of the next highest dude. And winning on all other counts as well.

Thankfully, domg couldn't stop a snowball to save its life.
>>
>>149715343
I am not Lording, I am acting Presidential. You also seem to have some facts wrong. I only got 1/3 of Ulm and Agartha, and Lanka was the one that got all but 3 of Abysia's provinces. I am absolutely ahead of just about everything though, as the future elected leader of Oeridia should be.

You shouldn't be so modest Lanklinton, you have nearly 70 gems over the 3rd highest person at last check (not including your blood slave income) and have been free to eat at least one of your 'allies' against me with no retaliation. your shilling and calls for war have no traction. I work with others to help them using the wealth that I made with successful management practices, where you threaten war on people that are late on a single payment or that don't follow your direction. Yes, I still remember your words about Fomoria and about the late Pangaea. Your narrative is falling apart.
>>
>>149714067
They went AI. I assume that is what the message is about.
>>
>>149707606
I will give you 2000 gold a turn for 3 turns till you deal with the bats. You are being paid to do the right thing
>>
>>149716795
A. if that were me, I would have cited the actual numbers you were ahead of me (which is well in excess of 100 gems, closer to 200 gems - from the other side - if we count the gain you get from Forge of the Ancients)
B. I took 6 Abysian provinces, counting capital. He only had 9 (unless someone else took them, wasn't paying attention to that). So 1/3 of Abysia would be more accurate than 1/2.
C. Most importantly, I'm more or less just waiting for you to cap the thrones and win (and maybe kill TC in 2 turns - not 2 turns from now, but like, actually just take 2 turns to kill him). I don't really have time for it, and I know how this script plays - I played the same part in All Yesterdays as Agartha. No point in spending hours scripting to stop the inevitable, just like in All Yesterdays where people sat and watched me win, they'll do the same here for you.

Also, allying with someone, and then chainstalling -> going AI makes you a pretty shit ally. And like in every memegame, I've only ever fought stalers and AIs, cause that's how you win. I just got unlucky on the placement, and wasn't next to as many.
>>

>2000 gold a turn for 3 turns till you deal with bats

and how much do you want me to deal with them?

be a bit more clear because you are trying to tell me i should drag 20 of my map move 1 sacreds through 8 provinces, one of which is a tier 2 throne, to inflict damage on bats. i can do it, but i don't know how it will end up
>>
>>149719287
I mean look at it this way, he's buying the sacreds, right? And probably the army units to, cause man is 6000 gold a lot.
>>
Also, congrats to Mictlan. You survived longer than the last Mictlan did.
>>
ForAFistfulOfDeathgems admin are you here?
Are you trying to find a replacement or will you let Arcoscephale go AI?
>>
>>149718973
Unless you lost a significant number of sites over the last few turns, you should not have fallen so far behind in gems. You also should try harder when trying to fool the guy that had Eyes of God up when talking about how many provinces you got from someone. It is not my fault that only people that choose to stale and AI want to side with you, seems you end up with a lot of low-energy people.

I also put forward that the first nation I ever came up at odds against in Memegeddon was a nation that had not staled, and had not AI'ed. Mictlan. A nation that many people cite as a nation that no one wants to play against. I listened to the voices of the masses and helped them make a better Oeridia. A nation with strong sacreds that was a real threat to the safety of many should they have been left alive.
>>

>>
>>149719698
I'm relatively new, how'd the last me do?
>>
>>149719516
In this game? Honestly, not really. Everyone is going to have gorillions of gold to spare even after building a fort in every single province.

If you are honestly able to spend all of your gold, something has gone wrong somewhere.
>>
>>149719516
not the right way to look at it sir.
My sacreds are the only good thing i have, just paying their gold cost isn't enough: 2 turns of my cap sacreds are life to me.
6000 gold is clearly more than their gold cost, but the gigantic lenght of land i will have to cross makes me wonder if there is enough worth in the offer. perhaps with other indipendent donors i will move my ass.
>>
>>149720504
You can spend it all to build 1 resource units, even if your race doesn't have any you can buy indies.

For example building shamblers to capture water provinces quickly as a land nation.
>>
>>149719836
Your own admission to me was that you had 497 gems per turn, with Forge of the Ancients being worth 70-100 or so. Sorry to burst your bubble, but I'm not even at 400 gems yet.

And your fight with Mictlan was a brutal beating, not really a fight. The only fight this entire game that happened was the Anti-Ermor coalition. And man, isn't it sad that people in MemegeddonIII - an EA game - are better at joining hands against Ermor than the players in ErmorOP.

Also, loaded an old file real quick. I took 7 from Aby, and you only took 2.

Flails don't do particularly good damage. 16 blunt damage (20 with a strength buff) is not very impressive. Plus the price per Abysian is very high compared to other units.

They're decent, but I'd rank them a lot worse than third-best recruitable unit.

I thought we were talking about normal circumstances.

I've got no idea how 300% settings tends to play. I would have thought it'd be more mage-heavy than normal games, rather than people spamming large numbers of troops.

>Falchioneers are cold blooded, and take a huge hit imo.
Cold blooded sucks, but they're better in a lot of other ways. Slashing damage rather than bludgeoning, higher damage, a defense score which isn't complete shit, MM2, and much cheaper.

They suffer from a lack of native mages to buff them, but Abysia's troops have the same problem.

>>
>>149732902
It is more mage heavy, but having solid troops is also a huge boon. For falchioneers vs the flail guys though:

16 vs 17 damage (falchion wins, slash besides)
10(12) vs 11 atk (close to even here, flail better vs shields, falchion otherwise wins)
But the flail guys have less enc (by 2) more HP (by 4), more prot (by 3), along with darkvision 50% and massive fire resistance for firestorm, along with a heat aura. They do cost 20 vs 13, and 26 res vs 19 though, but I'd still rather have them.

4 vs 6 isn't a big deal on expendable melee units, they'll be dead by the time it gets anywhere near critical anyway.

>more HP (by 4)
Per gold the falcioneers have more hp.

>more prot (by 3), and massive fire resistance for firestorm, along with a heat aura.
None of those are going to matter once lategame buffs are out (which is what I figured you were talking about since you mentioned revelers and deep ones - neither are top-tier troops without buffs).

Protection in particular is more than balanced out by their 4 defense skill, unless summod has also improved that.

>along with darkvision 50%
Yeah, I suppose that'd do it. Effectively having +3 att/def is a pretty big buff, though darkness can be countered.

how much fun should i have as a noob if i joined a multplayer?
>>
>>149763430
Plenty, as long as you don't take losing as horribly unfun. The basic premise of having about a dozen players means only 1/12th will win, enjoy the fighting for that's what the game is about.
>>
>>149763430
Lots. You go from scrub to average /domg/ skill pretty quickly. The game really shines once you're at the point where you understand it enough to start throwing together original ideas to fight people.
>>
>>149763430
About zro, I guess, who knows what's turns you on.
I doubt that being beaten like a rug will contibute to your enjoyment of the game. Moreover noobs usually failing the games, since they are an easy prey, so average player can win the game just by bulling scrubs.
Play at least 6 month in single player, get a graspon the game, and then have fun in MP.
>>
>>149765127
>>149763430
6 months in single player? Are you autistic? Is that how you started playing this game? What sane fucking person spends 6 months playing a single player game vs AI when the multiplayer version is totally different?

This game is really not as complex as this guy is trying to make it seem, and since games go on for so long you have plenty of time to learn as you play. You'll lose, but the point is to have fun, so just go in with the right mentality and you'll be fine.

I have played in SP 5 years t the very least. In both dom3 and dom4. And only then I kinda tired and start MP.
The most enjoyable part of this game is lore and learning about different nations. You can easily be consumed by it for 6-12 months. That is how I love this game. And the scrubs who just jumps straight in MP are capable only to ruin the game.
I don't care where will you learn about the game, but DON'T FUCKING DO IT in the MP-game I am in.

fuck off, i don't agree with you.Single player becomes worthless and boring 2 games past the tutorial.

>>149763430
play few single player games then join a multiplayer play by email game as a nation you like.
ask here for advice on pretender creation.Test your expansion phase multiple times in single player.
There is plenty of fun to be had and as soon as you start losing you will join another game.

I won my first multiplayer games because i love to practice /domg/ favourite sport: bullying and rushing other noob or weak players. You can do that too.But even when i lost early no biggie. it's still fun.

The first war should come at turn 15 or later, which means you have 2 weeks to learn how the hell you are supposed to win your first multiplayer war as a certain nation. The only thing you need to know before joining the game is how to expand with the nation and how to create a not terrible god for it.

If I made a mod that removed the cap-only tags from all units except sacred troops since that would just turn the whole thing into blessrush: the game, would this cause any serious balance issues (as in, more serious than the balance issues in the regular game)? And if I started a game using that mod, would you join it?

I always hate playing nations where all the good mages are cap-only, so using a mod like that would be quite interesting to me. The only real problem I see right away is that it gives different nations a different boost. Heavily cap-dependent nations would become significantly stronger, while nations that already have great mages outside of their cap wouldn't really change.

many many nations are overhelmingly held back by cap-only mages, so it would be really balance-changing, especially for games bigger than 4-5 players, where StR cap-only struggle more.Tienchi EA would be a great nation for example.

but i don't think it would actually *break* things, especially if you build it ontop of summod which nerfs xibalba ( which ha a caponly onaqui in EA).

i would suggest to mod only commanders and not units at all.

There's no unit modding involved. You need to add the unit ID to the nation's recruitable list and remove it from the cap-site's recruitable list.

Generally for modifying existing assets you do need to clear them completely and recreate the bits you don't want to change. There are a few exceptions to this (mostly cases where you're modifying an attribute that has only one per thing-you-mod), but for recruitment it's definitely gonna be a matter of clear and readd gem gen.
>>

50% winrate is massive, you stupid fucks need to understand it's not a 1v1 game.

Any mods? I took a pretty long break after doing Scrubgen 1 and 2, back then it was just Worthy Heroes as a must, with /domg/mod as a popular optional (both of which should be mostly useless with natgen anyway).

If someone else has time to vet nations and wants to host it before tomorrow, feel free. Also what number would Scrubgen be at by now anyway? Last I saw was a Scrubgen 3.
>>
>>149791830
Summod has lots of non-national changes, and due to nationgen now having national spells from vanilla randomly chosen for nations it will help in that regard as well.

Last Natgen was a flop, with most players still playing now out of bitter hatred for each other and the game in general.

Would you be open to people generating their own nations, and givng you codes?
>>
>>149791830
Worthy Heroes is pointless with Natgen since it only uses non-standard heroes anyway.

You should probably add Summod though. The nation changes don't matter, but the spell changes are cool and somewhat make up for the lack of national spells in Natgen games..

Why was it such a disaster? Just wondering so I don't make that mistake too. Bad nation batch?

>Would you be open to people generating their own nations, and givng you codes?

Normally I'd lean towards a no since it kinda takes away the random factor of it as players can just gen over and over until they get more or less exactly what they want, and I'd gen a pretty large batch anyway so there would be 30-40 nations (there is some limit past which it crashes the game, or at least used to, but I don't remember exactly how much). However, if the majority want it, I don't see why not.

I was your southern neighbor who made the mistake of not rushing you early on. I had very strong troops but I waited too long and your giants got all those juicy spells. Well that and the assholes could sail, which was really annoying as I was mostly coastal.

It's amazing Scrubgen 1 and 2 worked relatively well (rather, most had something broken to fight the opponent's broken stuff) considering I barely even vetted them properly. Sadly there is always a chance of something going wrong, there is no real way to consider all the variables for 20+ nations unless someone got a lot of time on his hands. At the same time, you don't want to just squash everything so there are no outstanding gens and everything is bland.
>>
>>149794220
Sure, you can have a deadline for sending the mod modified with fluff, if you don't then the original will be used.
>>
>>149795004
How does selection work? Are we just going to get basic descriptions and then the generation codes after we select or something else?
>>
>>149795242
The easiest way is simply uploading the mod so players can load it in the inspector.
>>
>>149795242
He chooses a bunch of nations and posts the mod. Everyone downloads the mod, flips through all the nations, and submits pretenders for the nations they want. It's generally been first-come, first-served, but if anyone spots something egregious about any of the nations they might be removed.
>>
Also I assume everyone wants MA as usual, correct?

>>149795242
I'll gen and slightly modify batches until I get one that is both interesting and not completely broken, then upload it somewhere (vola probably), so everyone can download them and try the nations for themselves or do whatever they want with them, and also make the pretender.

TheNewCool is over. Meme games should always end in a meme, like this one did.

This game started up with Agartha, Abysia, R'lyeh, Jomon, Marignon, Patala, Bogarus, Ragha and Man.
I came here at around turn 15-20, can't really remember.
When I arrived, both Agartha and Jomon were big and powerful. And then they started fighting.

After some defeats that I couldn't se, Jomon left the game, making me able to eat his underwater provinces.
Ragha was eating Man, as I remember, and Patala was objctively doing nothing.

Then, I talked to some of the remaining nations to know what did they think about the current state of the world.
Abysia and Ragha were the only ones who actually answered me, while Patala and Bogarus didn't.

Ragha agreed on attacking Agartha, and even if Abysia didn't really want to, he agreed that he was the biggest one.

Ragha was the second power at that moment, so Abysia and me ended up deciding that we were going to wait for Agartha and Ragha to clash before going into the battle.

Marignon got attacked by Ragha, and there was nothing he could do to fight back.
So he got eaten.

Then Agartha came closer to him, and even if I can't really remember it all perfectly, Agartha stomped a big non-mage-supported Zhayedans stack with a real fog warriors + Army of gold army (Can't remember which turn was this, but probably somewhere between 40 and 60).

While this happened, Patala (who was most likely sending blank turns) went AI and started attacking me and then Abysia. We killed him and I got his cap.

Before going on, I should mention that this game didn't have thrones, the VP were the caps and we needed 5 to win.

So while we fought AI Patala, Agartha got rid of every meaningful army of Ragha and captured Marignon. Then Ragha retreated back to his two capitals.

After that, Agartha got Bogarus too, which made him have 4 VPs.
>>
>>149796781
Abysia and me were a bit scared, but for some reason I thought Ragha could defend his forts or at least hold on for a little, while R'lyeh and Patala weren't accessible at all for Agartha (Patala was in a peninsula close to my capital).

While that happened, I got into high Astral magic, and casted mother oak and stellar focus, and Nexus some time after that (can't remember exactly when).
Then empowered my astral caster to be able to cast wish and started wishing for gems. Also started constructing and gearing golems.
I think Abysia had Blood Vortex and pyre so we had all the global slots and were confident on ourselves.
Also Abyia was going full late game demon mode.

So we were basically doing nothing other than waiting and gathering power.

Then Agartha suddenly moved into Man with a really big stack, for sure big enough to breach it in one turn. I wasn't really focusing on their Land business, so I didn't expect that. Abysia didn't expect it too. He was using Flying boat and lots of flying boots on his mages.

So there was this guy about to storm and get his last VP to win, while neither Abysia or me had any troops close there.

Abysia and me talked to each other, both of us scared that he was going to end the game.

Honestly I wasn't sure about if I should really fight Agartha or just let him win, but after doing literally nothing all game long, I felt like I had to try (I totally came to regret this a lot of turns after that).

So I teleported all of my astral mages, my 3 queens of elemental air, and 4 faerie queen.
Together with 11 full geared golems and a Starspawn with enough boosters to cast Army of gold.

It was a really big and impressive battle while I destroyed all of his stuff but a single commander and an eagle, then my remaining mages retreated and my golems dissolved into dust. I lost all of my queens and golems in there, and Agartha lost a lot of unique artifacts and important mages.
>>
>>149796894
I knew I could recover from it via wishing for gems and waiting, but it was going to be harder for him.

But the main problem was that Abysia literally walked in with a not-so-big army with no real army buffs and killed the last mage and eagle in there.

So Agartha and me lost LOTS of stuff while Abysia lost nothing, pushing Abysia to the lead position of the game.

Abysia managed to Domkill and eat Ragha while I was recovering. I got my queens back plus earth kings and water queens. Then I think i got a Fire king aswell.

While i was doing that, Abysia ate a lot of Agartha's lands and then casted AC.

It was really annoying for me and I asked him why was he making me attack him. He told me he just wanted to try something and was going to end AC soon. I couldn't believe it at all, and was a bit mad for not being able to wish anymore.

Some turns after that, Abysia teleported Ashmedai into a Agartha's province and suicided him, getting rid of AC. It was pretty hilarious.

Agartha lost his last big army and retreated to Jomon and Agartha to fortify.

Abysia ate almost everything and templed it up, while also building a lot of forts.
And this is when he started domkilling the world.

I think then he casted Blood vortex again, overcasting it even more. And then casted looming hell. I lost Arcane focus and he lost his own pyre in there.
>>
>>149797031
Abysia was really powerful and had a big stack with about 350 storm demons and 250 devils, leaded by 3 units ( a helliophagus, Pazuzu and Geryon).
I told Agartha my plan to get rid of it, and we tried it.
We got the only province next to it which was Abysia's, I wished for Pazuzu and spammed mindhunt, while Agartha spammed Earth attacks.
My testing revealed that Geryon couldnt be killed by earth attack, but the helliophagus could be killed by it.
Mind hunt managed to kill Geryon, and the helliophagus died to erf elementals. Then a scout attacked and 600 demons retreated into oblivion.

After losing that many demons, Abysia was again able to be fought by me.

I started moving from every side to take Abysia's 3 VPs (I had 2 at that point, so those 3 were enough to win).
I had 3 big armies, all of them mage-supported with mass regen + army of gold + fog warriors + will of fates, but they were basically chaff plus some mages.

Then AC came up again.

Man was the closest cap. Using my wished telkhines to mage-support even further.
I really expected a fight in there, so I geared 3 starspawns to cast Master Enslave at turn 1 with 4 penetration.

But nothing happened, he just let me capture it doing nothing to protect it.

At this point I think AC went down again, and Wrath of the god came in. It was so annoying, since aroun 500 of my units were being hit per turn, and around 150 being killed. It was really fucking me up because my prophets were at 5 hp since almost all of my provincs had Abysia's dominion, and Wrath killed them easily.

I managed to get to Ragha, where I lost a SC wearing Aegis and felt so depressed.
I was about to be domkilled, and talked to Agartha a lot of times about how I would have let him win if I knew I was going to get that much cancer.

In militar power I was the strongest by far, but Abysia kept on avoiding fights (even if I had to script them for more than 40 minutes every fucking turn).
>>
>>149797168
But who cares about power when you are about to get killed via dominion? It felt really really annoying and unfun.
Abysia didn't want to end the game, so I had to keep on playing.

I managed to successfully storm Man and the same turn I did, AC got casted AGAIN.
I needed Abysia but was about to perish, so I teleported all of my mages everywhere into Abysia's cap. Most of them with water bottles to be more likely to survive horrors.

I also Astral travelled and Stygian pathed into there.
The first turn I did, I met a EQ trap of 3 casters, and killed them losing near to no units. Will of fates on turn 0 is so fucking great.

The literal turn after that, AC went down AGAIN (I was told that Abysia teleported his caster and lost it in there).

So the first turn I appeared in Abysia, I managed to siege it down a little, but while losing 150 units a turn and some mages (lost my will of fates sword Squid even if he had 26hp), I was unable to siege it down anymore after that.
Also Abysia was very likely summoning stuff inside of it.

I had 3-4 turns left to die and couldn't nail it, it was over.

Then Agartha told both of us that he was going to demolish all of his forts one by one to get rid of the stall the game was suffering.
Then both Abysia and me prepared to fight in Marignon. I had to forge 3 Arcane lens to be able to get my stuff Astral traveled into there.
The last turn it was the turn to teleport everything, with Marignon already nude.

I teleported into there mages able to cast every single buff plus enough lamias and chaff to kill anything.
He teleported some stuff too and lots of blood slaves. But I got it down.

From the moment the invaders arrived, breathed our air, ate and drank, they were doomed. They were undone, destroyed, after all of man's weapons and devices had failed, by the tiniest creatures that God in his wisdom put upon this earth: seven Pen5 Master friendship casters.

recipe for a better nationgen game:

-bake the mod yourself and upload it, everyone look at it and picks a nation, first come first serve.
-the chance of people quitting is pretty high. having a steam thread with names on and having subs ready would be a plus, but only people realizing that they can have fun even without winning can save the game from becoming an AIfest.
-create 3x nations than players
-there is no need for maximum broken sacreds
-tell everyone that during the first 2 days you might ban a nation if everyone thinks it's broken. i had terminator-like encumbrance 0 sacreds with 18 protection,35 hp, 5 of each res once.
-surprisingly not everyone wants to play as hoburgs
-no matter at least one person will still quit when they discover their sacred bone giant cavalry is actually shit. deal with it.
-good comunication and diplomacy is how players can handle strong nations.

ermor can't easily be shut down because they produce units when their cap is sieged and have 100 death gems to spend from their earliest turns and you are going to lose if you can't make supply items turn 9 when you also need evocation 3.

as far as i know nationgen doesn't make nations with more than 6 gems in capital, interesting summons, domkill, a lot of freespawn.

Is the in-game tutorial worth going through?

How do I get my friend into this? He recieved my copy through Steam earlier and he's eager to play so we're going to do some multiplayer tomorrow.

So; Best way for him to learn? Just walk him through the basics while we play, and refer to the manual at times? Should I have him pick one of the beginner factions? And which *Age is best to start in for a newcomer? Hell, I'm new-ish too but I have some faint grasp on the game atleast.
>>
>>149800625

I have generally found setting up a blitz against AIs with you and a buddy as a Pretender/Disciple is useful for teaching basics.

After that you can move on to duels or whatever, but the pretender/disciple thing lets you look at what they're up to without you having to stand over their shoulder.
>>
>>149800625
Do a disciple game, something fairly basic with him as MA Ulm and disciple, pick a nation with generally scales as the pretender, let him make whatever as his mini-pretender.

However if there's a nation he actively wants to play, go for that in general
>>
>>149800527
i'd say yes.

the alternative is picking an easy nation like Abysia or pangea and play it against normal AI, reading the manual when you want to understand how stuff work.
the manual is enormous but most of it is detailed stat of every unit, you just need to know about how combat, forts, gold and turn order work
>>
>>149800625
If he likes videos then show him a let's play from youtube or wherever.
>>
Fomoria will let him do the most stuff with one nation (Elves! Giants! Cloud trapeze! Thugs! Super-fighters! Battle-field killing spells! Evocation spam! Elemental spam! Sailing! Under-da-sea combat!) and it also relies on relatively few different paths to do all of that.

For whichever of you was talking about The Great Ordeal a few threads back (I was on vacation and only saw the post and didn't feel like typing a long ass reply on my phone), here's my opinion:

Obviously, do not continue reading if you haven't read TGO or at the very least the excerpts Bakker released earlier.

1. The Momemn arc and it's semi-resolution(?) was terrible, but I admit that I hate pretty much all of the Momemn-involved characters. The way that the White-Luck Warrior was stopped was absolutely lame as fuck, and the way that Kellhus just literally *teleports behind you*, pssshhh nothin personnel kid to Fanayal and crew was also pretty fucking lame. Overall this makes me very worried about how things are going to end, but I will at least give Bakker the benefit of the doubt since we still have another book.
2. The Ishterebinth chapters were rad as fuck, and far and away the best part of the book. They actually succeeded in taking a character that I previously hated (Sorweel) and making him one of my favorite characters.
3. The Akka/Mim chapters were great, and I was surprised that the seemingly-obvious story (they find the Heron Spear in Ishual) was something Bakker didn't go for. I was disappointed that we didn't get more from Koringhus, but maybe the Dunyain kid (Kellhus' grandson) will have a big role to play. The Cnaiur reveal was pretty mind-blowing to me.
4. The Dagliash resolution was pretty cool, and leaves a ton of possibilities open about what's going to happen to the Ordeal. The return of Kellhus PoV together with confirmation that the Consult are 100% right about damnation was pretty awesome. Also, the revelation that Kellhus does in fact have visions where the No-God seemingly talks to him (recall the vision he had while on the Circumfix way back in TWP) and the visions are what told him to kill his father was pretty interesting.

Overall I was pretty happy with it, and I'm now mega hyped for The Unholy Consult.

"The world is covered by a blanket of utter darkness. All living beings must use torches to see even a few feet in front of themselves. Undead, Demons and blind beings are unaffected by the darkness. All provinces except caves and deep seas have their income and resources reduced by 90 percent. During the perpetual night, forces of darkness and roaming shades will attack enemy provinces. The spell lasts until someone dispels it or the caster dies."

How is this balanced?

it's "balanced" by making yourself the target that must be taken down, while also suffering from its drawbacks.

also everyone should have recruited and built enough stuff by that time and desertation will come slowly, gradually.

gem economy is the more important than gold at that point and also you have to spend a lot of gems into that global and perhaps even a god design ( or even more gems for artifact boosters).
>>

Because it's very hard to put up, and requires very good planning to prevent other people from bringing it down quickly.

Already doing this. As for the names, there will be a Steam group thread where people can reserve it, I'll also update the thread with all the already reserved nations so people can reserve them here too if they don't like Steam. If someone doesn't reserve it, he can still drop in his pretender but there is no guarantee he gets it until the pretender has been sent and received.

Not sure on the sacred slider, wasn't there last time I made a Scrubgen, but I'm gonna guess it should stay at default, yes?

This won't happen unless it's an extreme case. I'll vet them so no super OP shit should get through (hopefully), some nations will be stronger and some weaker but there shouldn't be any nations recruiting the equivalent of Seraphs in their forts. Also it would always be preferable if the player simply gets ganged up on, since we all get the mod, everyone can check what their neighbors are like.

I'll have you know that I subbed into that game only because of my bitter hatred of it. I have only grown to dislike the game more as time goes on. No buffs on his revelers, aside from army of giants.

I had 25 PD so my forces were a bit larger than the battle result shows (81 more troops if I count right), and lots of my troops had ranged weapons, either javelins or slings.

While the revelers were busy killing the boars my troops got a few rounds to throw their ranged weapons. That did a lot of damage, and was apparently enough to let my troops barely pull off a win once the revelers finished with the boars.

I'm quite surprised at the result too.

>Why was it such a disaster? Just wondering so I don't make that mistake too. Bad nation batch?
Primary problem with current natgen is that the admin was a badmin and made a game with 16 players/300 provinces require like half of the map worth of thrones to win. It's pretty much impossible until you also have like 150 provinces worth of land which would be a total domination anyway.
Bonus points for a bunch of nations in the batch being able to spam ros. (and well, on a map that big ros indies are plentiful)
The map was also kind of crap with no income so being able to afford (usually overpriced in natgen) troops was actually an issue early on.
And then of course natgen has no lategame so it all devolved into tarts (hurray for more ros casters for everyone) and blood so now it's a mirror match featuring pretty much exactly same nations.

The later is actually really shit because it takes all the fun away from natgen. That's why there were talks about modding the successor natgen and adding national summons to make lategame options at least somehow national.

12 MR, and they cost even more gold than a mindblaster.
>>

Less well, for exactly the reasons you pointed out. They do MUCH better than atlanteans, of course, partially because they can close the distance quite well. With a sizable chaff screen you should be fine.
>>
>>149844746
With the meme settings, I'm pretty sure that R'lyeh is the strongest UW v UW nation.

>>
>>149845108
I actually tested a deep-water fight by mistake. Triton riders won at 6-1 numbers with very few losses. Living Pillars simply put do not have defense. It's 5 including their shield.

Obviously VASTLY more gold was on Pelagia's side, but that's not even an unreasonable number given the resource discrepancy.

Rudimental description of formation is in the manual but I'm more interested in how they work in related to other tactical elements. Kinda like this http://strategywiki.org/wiki/Dominions_3:_The_Awakening/Units#Unit_types

And what happened to the dom3 wiki? IIRC there was a very good one.
>>
>>149817449
Brave Mictlan holds back the bat tides.
>>
>>149846021
Well, in the absence of the actual guide that I'm too lazy to look for, iirc the line formation things were the only new elements.

So line formation essentially just sets your units to all move at the same very slow speed to ensure that they all stay together. The advantage is having a broad front to ensure that as many of your guys are fighting at the same time as possible. The disadvantage is that you're less likely to get the first hit (because your opponent will probably walk up and hit you if they're not also using line formation) and also that most units will suffer a morale penalty.

Line formation also reduces the units in a given AoE because it only extends to either side. This is good for dodging evo and bad for placing buffs.

Line formation also makes your flyers not fly forward - they move at the same slow speed as ground pounders.

Hold and Attack disables the lock-step thing in line formation.

You generally use line formation when you want as broad a front as possible or when you want your infantry to simply, well, hold a line so that guys behind them can do the killing. When armies are sufficiently large that first attack becomes less impactful, line formation's pretty good just for the first advantage.

Sparse Line is pretty much only used for giving as much space as possible between your guys for evo catching. Having a sparse line of vine ogres is a thing.

Double line is for when you want the broad front and slowness that lines offer but are pretty sure that some of the first line holders are going to die. The double line gives you a second row to filter forward so that you'll have full squares when your dudes hit back.

This is all sorta off the top of my head.
>>
>>149844026
>5-10x Triton Riders
So for every 35G and 49R that Atlantis spends, Pelagia needs to spend around 280G and 49R to get a victory?

Less that they have to and more that they can because of the game's settings.

Not blaming anyone seeing birds as the bigger target because Yomi FUCKING SUCKS. Mid game I started hating this nation, its extremely hard to do anything in order.

And mainly for completion sake dominion. I didnt bother spreading mine until late into the game since my scales were awful.

I went with Turmoil3 Sloth3 Heat3 Growth3 Luck3 Magic3 N9E4B4A4 idol. Bless was mainly aimed at Dai Onis and somewhat at shikomes (especially B4).

All thats good with Yomi is sacred - shikomes, dai oni, oni generals. But they have no good priests or even a massable priest, thats a big issue. Cant really decide if I would go a bless or 'scales' Yomi next time but I dont plan to play them again any time soon.
>>
>>149878443
The easiest way to get a good priest for nations that don't have one natively (or through national magic) is to break into W and summon Bishop Fish. You'll need a to give them an amulet to use them on land which is a bit of a hassle, but they're a summonable H3 which is really nice.
>>
>>149878352

Yes, Rlyeh. All the free spawn making the graph unreadable.

Squids did nothing all game, grabbed some land opportunistically but didnt use them in any way I could. Didnt do cancer globals either.

Birds grew fast and got ganked, then somehow turned shit around then I killed them. Birds were solid. Sasuga birds.

Sauro killed Mictlan early on then sat and researched then disappeared. IRL stuff apparently. Oh well.

Micltan got killed by Lanka and Sauro, RIP Mictlan. Everyone thought they had Shattered throne in the cap ring but it wasnt so.

Lanka grabbed some stuff off Mictlan then got killed by Helheim and Boars. Good work removing blood nations!

Ur just died to Lanka then Boars. As expected of Ur.

Boars killed Ur and helped kill Lanka. Then attacked me and died. Good riddance.

Kailasa went death3, the absolute madman! Did absolutely fine desu but crumbled later on, too passive.

Ctis went meme awake Neter of the Moon and magic 3 then did nothing, staled, was subbed, died to me.

Helheim did elf things all game being a proud elf. Stayed strong till the end. Apparently was infiltrating me. Elves. Figures.
>>
>>149878852

Forgot about Ulm.

Ulm wasnt ulmish at all, didnt stale and fought birds then birds ate it. Steel < feathers apparently.

Also forgot about Agartha. Agartha died to birds, went AI, then resurged when birds died then I killed them. RIP slugs.
>>
>>149878643

Good luck getting UW province with Rlyeh in game. I could try but being at war with someone I couldnt feasibly defeat for dozens of turns is annoying and barely worth it.

In the end I forged all the H booster artifacts and used those.
>>
>>149878852
A typical example of players not doing anything about the biggest guy on the field until it's too late. I was very much guilty of this as well, which was one part due to being overly cautious (for most of the game I expected Kailasa to invade me the moment I turned my back, which was a diplomacy fail on my part), and one part being forced to deal with other shit. I was planning on invading you after I killed Ur, but then Lanka suddenly attacked so I couldn't spare any troops, and by the time I had finished up my business in the south you already had a million SCs flying around and raped all my shit in seconds.
>>
>>149879462
Also I'm kind of disappointed that R'lyeh really was just memeing it up and didn't have anything to do with anything. The game would have been a lot more interesting if he'd been a more aggressive player from the start, instead of just chilling underwater all game long and vulturing a province or two whenever someone was getting killed.
>>
>>149879221
>>149879462
>>149879862
sounds like just another game of /domg/ being passive as always and one guy with actual balls doing the real fighting and the most important ally he needed fucking off as always
>>
>>149879462

I was expecting an attack from Ctis and Sauro all game long, had parked two small-ish armies (70 shikomes or so) on those borders.

Lanka attack came as a great surprise to me but it was also a big opportunity to kill birds while having a free hand south. Before that I was torn between hitting Sauro and Ctis. Didnt consider invading you at all.

>spend 5 hours genning 50 nations with filters so they get a good spread and little chaff
>take all the seeds, gen single mod with that
>too many sprites in mod
>remove 10 of them
>too many sprites in mod

Cherry on the cake is that filters are written by monkeys, so rather than just generating one of the specified race, it keeps randomly generating and discarding until it gets it to fit the filters (needless to say, just 1 or 2 filters can take anywhere from seconds to half an hour, depending on how lucky you are).
>>

>>
>>149879949
>>149879963
I think if Sauro and C'tis had cooperated and attacked before you spiraled out of control, they could have changed the course of the entire game. But C'tis never did anything at all and Sauro played too defensively after killing Mictlan.

As for me, in retrospect my best move might have been to ignore Ur and Lanka, and invade Kailasa early on to secure more land, instead of wasting a lot of time and resources in a tug of war that ended up barely gaining me anything.

i don't think c'tis player had any idea of what he was doing.
it looked like a research rush with an S4 chassis that didn't commit into a push as soon as he got enchantment 5.
it barely had anything sitesearched and was going for high conjuration without having construction 4 for boosters.
with that research and no mage on repeated recruitment( i had a fort with 3 shamans and 10+ h1 priests with 0 leadership, 50 slingers and a buttload of chariots) when i got the nation in hand i couldn't even stop Yomi's SC. i just sat on my thrones and conquered land back.
>>
>>149882510
anything that makes you want to stick some items on it ( so almost any titan + hooded spirit) and has as many( 2 or more) paths different than earth and fire.
i would say dormant.

you should go drain 3, luck 0 or misfortune 1, either cold 3 or heat 3 ( heat 3 is better but i would look at what other nations would hate to fight into; note that Father of Winters is better as and against cold3). all other scales maximum, especially production 3.

air death nature are really good paths to put points into.

Alright mods are made and uploaded, get them here: (removed cause spam detection, just check the steam group)

Once you find a nation you like, either post here or in the Steam thread (removed cause spam detection, just check the steam group) and I'll write you up.

The Llama game is only going up once the admissions are closed, due to having to make a new mod with the seeds (and unless something has changed, Llama doesn't let you change mods once the game has been opened).

they get the chance to trample your temples, annoyingly, and it would require coordination of several players, which also reveal their unconvenient temple placement to each other. >>149886050
Due to sprite limit fuckery (for some reason batches of nations adding up to 50 create a lot more sprites than 50 in one batch) I had to split it. You simply find one you like in either and tell me, then when we're all ready I'll consolidate all the picked nations into a single mod and create the Llama game.

>>149883907
Could have done but we'd have ended up with nations with very few units. The unit count is default, yet even 40 nations went over the limit, so I don't know how much I'd have had to cut down on it.
>>
either mod inspector isn't playing nice with these, or the nations are broken. As in buggy. I'll check the dms themselves in a sec, but I'm seeing weird things like 180g units with human stats and taskmaster, and also stuff like heavily armored sacreds showing up with 1 res

Caponly at 65g 17r. If people think they are too strong I could remove the fear from their weapon and give it a normal crossbow. However not sure how much effect the fear would have, it's lesser fear and only on wounding, and there probably won't be many fielded at the same time.

Natgen games are about as unserious and uncompetitive as they get, you don't have to be an expert. At the same time you'll probably have a harder time coming up with a strategy since you can't look up any guides.

You don't lose anything by losing so I don't see the issue.

I finished writing fluff for Ashia, The Twilight of the Mirror. A previous Pantokrator played tricks on a nation of Caelians and removed all province connections from their capital. Ashians constructed a magical mirror and used it to observe the outside world during their isolation, modelling their military after all the things they saw in the Mirror without any practical understanding about it. Now the Mirror has broken so it's "Twilight of the Mirror", but the Wheel has also turned again and Ashia is freed.

While writing descriptions I noticed a number of things I don't like about the nation so I might change my pick after all, but here's the edited .dm in any case: http://www.mediafire.com/download/kxvv1cn8ddyds0k/nationgen_castle_of_turtles.dm
>>
So I'm playing the tutorial and it mentioned crafting a magic item in order to capture the throne of ascension underwater without ever saying how to do it. How do I do it? I've tried looking under the craft magic item menu on my main mage and don't see anything that would help me in that regard.

Live the thug life.
>>
>>149903779
TNN is an A nation. This means you probably want to rush Conj 5 and Evo 5 for air elementals and T strikes respectively. Firbolg druids make great researchers, and they remain useful as emergency combat mages if you need to deploy them.

TNN can thug, but that's not your only raiding option. A mage with a handful of firbolgs to catch arrows for him can summon an air elemental or two and take care of PD, and doing this doesn't require the same level of gem investment that a thug does. The advantages of thugging are strategic mobility with cloud trapeze, the ability to stealth out of trouble, and the fact that it uses W and N gems, which you can't use as effectively in combat.

Between your ability to raid and the fact that your opponent can't see your units, you should be able to catch out the enemy armies with more than what they have when you concentrate your forces and spread out around them to take all their stuff if they ball up.
>>
>>149903779
>>149904836
one other note: TNN is very vulnerable to mind hunt. Finding a S indie is godsend

Piecing reduces protection by 20% base, and even assuming you don't take a B4 bless they reliably kill most things.

12 damage piercing ain't bad, even with 0 length. Regardkess, they're worth it at a measly 22/3.

On a lonely shore, beneath a rusted and faded amusemant park sign, the remnants of a shattered world gathered together. Malformed as they were from what doomed their race, they sought a last hope, a ritual from yore to re-open the world of the fey.
When the first fey stepped into the blighted realm, they were greated by the people of "Seaside Amusmant Co", and hailled as leaders who'd take them to a better place.

The elves gathered the clans of the diminished fey realm, dying as it was from the death of the natural world, at the Tree-Tower of the Boar-sorcerers, planning to link it and the "Spire of Plunging Catostraphy" (Not most the letters had been lost or malformed, the LgingCaostraph was what the floor read) where those of the dead world huddled.

Though they know not where they are now, the fey side, leaders of the lesser but more numerous "Ceasidh" have declared this new world to be theirs, and set off to conquer all those whom oppose them.

It's cool to rename units, right?
>>
>>149910098
If it takes them a turn to kill a guy in plate, that's a turn where they're taking hits from other melee attacks, arrows, and spells.

132g per square and two major blesses is a massive investment, and while they're going to be effective I don't see them being effective enough to justify such a large cost.
>>
>>149907809
why would you want more than W9?W9B4 or W9D4 if you have a chassis for that otherwise don't bother.

i don't really get their appeal ( unless they are rec anywhere, but even int hat case B9 might not be worth it). 9 HP.9 protection. no resistences.
they are gonna die. 9 hp for 22 gold with cap limit are not enough to make me think B9 is a good idea.if i hit them with falling fires or falling frost my mage might have an 80% chance to die(less if they are fatter than human), but i also clear 350 gold of limited troops in one turn.that's the disadvantage of size 1 creatures.

they are great within their limits: expansion, raiding force, a spicy "side cavalry" for your first wars. don't get a super expensive double bless on them.
>>
>>149912252
The game's EA, is it not? Heavy protection like that shouldn't be an enormous concern.

The tengu of Chimori have served as the heralds and messengers of the gods since time immemorial. The Pantokrator set upon them the task of both scouting the land and reporting anything out of the ordinary to the myriad gods under his command so that he could focus on other matters. When the wheel turned and the Pantokrator disappeared, they continued undaunted in their work. With magical insight and swift wings, their network of coverage expanded until they were reporting across an entire nation. It was still not enough, however. The tengu were too few to investigate every incident, and with no direction to slow down, they came to desire the ability to report on the entirety of the world.

That was when they enlisted the aid of the zotz. With their ability to see in the darkest of corners and their ability to hear with unerring precision, they were the perfect reporters. Awed by the wit and magic of the tengu, the zotz came to serve in their swarms, and the screeching Zotzarazzi now comprise the bulk of Chimori’s investigative teams. The mages that once ruled them resigned themselves to supporting the national journalistic imperative, and these Forlorn Scions now reside only in the capital.

>>
>>149919378
In what format do you want the unit descriptions? I understood from your other posts you'd prefer to take them in text file rather than a modified .dm
>>
>>149919727
Yeah write them down in a .txt file, a modified .dm would mean I'd have to check to make sure nobody cheats. Ideally post it in the Steam group so I don't miss it but I'll check this thread too.

Be sure to be clear what the description belongs to, if I get text files that are just description dumps with no indication of where they go, I'll ignore them (this is really only if you are going to write descriptions for units, heroes, etc.).
>>
>>149920075
Uh, I've already been writing them in a .dm

I'll put everything up on a pastebin, but honestly the dm formatting is straightforward enough that it should be very easy to find and replace all of the descriptions. I'm leaving the commented unit names the same, which will also make it clear what goes where.

Also, a lot of these units have identical descriptions (was that way in the original nation too) so you can probably use find-and-replace to swap out all of those descriptions at once.
>>
>>149920334
I can also just copy/paste the #descr and #name lines, if that's easier for you.

Doesn't really matter, it's just a few copypastes per nation. There isn't really an issue with sending the .dm either, I'll just copypaste the descriptions from there, saves you time too since it's obvious where they go.
What I meant was that I won't be taking the whole nation .dm and pasting it into the new one so for me a .dm or a .txt doesn't really change much.

Also we're already 12, I imagine we'll hit 16 sometime tomorrow at which point I'll close the admissions, though I'll still give time to the evening for descriptions.

I don't know if this question would be a paradox, but how might someone get into this game without any experience in the previous game and without looking up any sort of information? It seems as though even with a fair amount of trial and error you'll still be missing out on some of the more subtle mechanics and be pretty inefficient. I'd like to try and learn the game solely by playing the game, but I just feel as though my turns are nothing of substance and I'm just trying to make a blob of an army with randomly researching/constructing things.

Set ai difficulty to hard or impossible, on a medium to small map with multiple ais. Pick a nation like hellheim or ctis.

Odds are you'll be forced to do things that arent blobbing if you want to expand against endless hordes of ais attacking you with bigger blobs.

Set research to easy as well, i guess to promote magic. (although i personally found that setting difficulty on hard makes proper research priorities more important).

Other than that and reading guides, jump into multiplayer, get murdered and learn from seeing what people do.

On the one hand, I really, really hate your stupid pan memes, you retarded furry fuck.

On the other hand, that's fantastic news. Congrats on beating that shit, and I hope you can get back into the game.

>X is a line of crossbowmen
>They're on fire and keep distance in line formation
>C is the commander
>He's on stay behind troops
>M is various meat shields
>They're on hold and attack closest in line formation
Is this a good setup? I want the meat shields to move in front of the firing line, take on the initial cavalry charge, and then mop up while the crossbowmen do their duty.
>>
>>149971303

What happens here is crossbows and meatshields get stuck on each other in a huge mass while theyre charged by the cavalry/enemy front line.

Meathsields need to be up front to SHIELD stuff man. Also troops being stuck on each other is very common, dont rely on fluid changing of positions.

>have a blob of 80 units
>attacking 20-30 units
>squares of units clash
>only the front 10 ever get to hit the enemy
>the other 70 are literally turning their sprites left and right, not knowing what to do
>those 10 die
>everyone else retreats
>>
>>149971303
You need at least a small line of meat shields ahead of the crossbowmen. Fast units could reach your ranged units before the chaff moves past them.

You'll also need to leave gaps in your crossbow line if you want your melee troops to get past.

From what I've heard, fire and keep distance is a very poor choice for archers. A single melee unit can cause your whole archer group to spend their time retreating instead of shooting.

Never use fire and keep distance. It's a turd that barely even fucking works (mostly because of AP mechanics), half of the time your archers will end up in melee instead of keeping the fucking distance.
The other half of the time they'll retreat from the battlefield and scatter in neighboring provinces making it a pain to gather them.

Any modnation game starting up soon?

>>149974298
Just "Fire" then?

If I put Attack do they go melee on the enemies?

How about units with stuff like webs, what should I order those ?

Different squads and gaps in your line are your friends, break the crossbows in the middle, have meat behind that gap, and to the two flanks set to hold+attack.

no. the first one who runs into a decent one who fits his bless snowballs and win easily. i don't like it that much.

Why are "being up for" something and "being down for" something synonyms?

Fat chance is actually sarcastic.

Right, but it's a different reason from why being up for something and being down for something mean the same thing.

Last call for ScrubGen X, will stop accepting players in 30 minutes.

If you got descriptions to write, write them now because when the Llamaserver game is made that will close too (in ~2-3 hours, I'll give a last call for descriptions before doing that though).
>>
>>149992117
We're at bump limit, actually, so we need a new thread.
>>
>>149992261

>>
>>149992672
You what

I'm at work for the next 5 hours, I was gonna write descriptions after getting home and catching some sleep.
>>
>>149992849
I opened the game 24 hours ago, I dunno how long people expected to have. I can wait until tomorrow morning (it's 18:30 here now) if people want, but no longer (12h extra should be plenty for anyone). We aren't shooting up the game forever because of descriptions, so no more delays after this.
>>
>>149992672
>>149992849
I think you can use a mod with added fluff locally even if llamaserver has a version of the mod that has the original generated descriptions. No stats or unit IDs or anything of the sort changes and I don't think Dominions checks whether or not local mod files have changed so it should be fully compatible.
>>
>>149993173
Even if that works, that would mean only you would see your descriptions. I imagine most people want everyone to see them.

Anyway I don't have an issue with delaying another 12-15h, just as long as we don't end up in an endless delay loop because of descriptions.
>>
>>149993330
Well, you can always share mod files even after the game has been made.
>>
>>149993330
Not that guy, but a short delay would be good for me as well.
>>
>>149993458
If it's just half a day I think we can wait and make it easier on everyone, not like it will start before tomorrow anyway due to pretender submissions.

If someone hasn't send in his descriptions by tomorrow morning (11:00 CET), then he can upload his .dm and hope everyone can be bothered downloading it.

To recap:
Description submissions close Saturday 11:00 CET, if it isn't in (ideally posted in the steam group, but you can post here too if you're fine with the small chance of it being missed), you're going to have to upload a .dm and hope people can be arsed downloading it.

So can you make custom descriptions for your units in the natgen game or is it only your nation?
>>
>>149996734
Both.
>>
>>149996781

How do I go about doing that? Edit the advanceddescriptions.txt and the descriptions.txt? How should it look so I don't screw something up?
>>
>>149996963
Just find a #descr line for every unit and replace text inside brackets with your own. ez
>>
>>149996963
>>149997295
Either that or just put the descriptions in a text file and let the admin sort it out.
