Are there any good competitive multiplayer shooters to play on PS4?

So far I've tried Uncharted 4, TLOU, Black Ops III, COD:AW and Doom 4; so far everything feels so fucking meh. TLOU was the best one but the pay2win shit pisses me off and I refuse to buy the perks/weapons on principle.

This is really lame. I just want a good competitive shooter to play where I can feel my skill level growing and just enjoy the online but so far there doesn't seem to be anything worth playing. Is Overwatch good at least? Any recommendations at all? thanks

I don't know about Arkham Knight, because that's still too big for modern PS+, but I wouldn't be surprised if the first episode of Telltale's Batman series is passed off as a new game. It's out on August 2nd, and Telltale has a strong relationship with PSN (sales, PS+ games).

A while back the first episode of King's Quest was a PS+ game, though admittedly not a new release. Still, I can see Telltale and Sony partnering to encourage players to purchase the season pass. Just look at the recent flash sale dedicated to fucking Battleborn.

So I've gotten into an argument with my friend about Ultimate Alliance, because we were both super hyped about the game when it leaked but the moment Activision announced it was going to be $60 for both I just completely lost interest while he was still hyped.

So the argument came down to

Yea but I'm not paying $60 for a game that I own multiple versions of when the cast list isn't even mentioned. Especially if, what I think is true and this is just a lazy port of the 360 version, so we might not get the Wii/PS2 exclusive characters (pic related). All they'll do is add in trophy support and call it a day, so that's worth $20, maybe $30 for both but even then I'd wait for a sale.

So then the line got pushed to what makes a re-release worth it, so when do you guys draw the line between calling something a port versus a remaster?

Hasn't that always been the case? I remember reading complaints about it maybe a year or two ago, when they started to push the digital pre-order thing, and Sony's argument for it is that the PSN isn't designed to handle deferred payments. So instead of having the potential to screw up and give a game for free they just take the money immediately and have you run the risk of it not being unlocked properly.

I remember tekken 3 had those gameplay modes were you could only damage your enemy with a big volleyball and it had a full 3D beat em up mode in it aswell. Odin Sphere is great. Biggest flaw is repetition - many areas are visually the same even if they have different layouts for each characters story. But if you liked the demo then go for it.

There's just those five playable characters.

The story is very fairytale-ish and character focused. Seeing how each characters story connects to the others and learning about the world as the game goes on is really neat.

Okay, but "Legit Issues with SFV" isn't the same as "Things missing from the game". You didn't say SFV just has clear issues, you implied it had a bevy of missing features and content right now, stuff that is standard in fighting games. At this current point, SFV isn't missing content, it may have less than most games but it is from from missing a lot of standard elements from the majority fighting game.

Unless "Good netcode" and "Good Lobbies" are a standard thing that every fighting game has and are not bad. Which they are not. The amount that game relies on Japanese history and shit is insane. On the plus side after doing my research and using a rough translation I came out knowing way more about the Bakamatsu period and the game itself is pretty great.
