Content Update 2.3.3 is a patch that's exclusively devoted to introducing a new performance feature for players to beta test. This feature should improve frame rate significantly where there is a lot action on the screen. Jonathan, our Technical Director, has created a video showing off the improvements that are possible.

When we launched Path of Exile 2.3.0 alongside the Prophecy Leagues, we added multithreading to the game client in the form of concurrent resource loading. Until now, though, we didn't have multithreading for regular gameplay. (Multithreading is where multiple CPU cores are used simultaneously to perform different tasks, improving the game's performance).

In 2.3.3 we will be adding a command-line option that will let you turn on frame multithreading. This feature allows the game to use more of your CPU cores for regular gameplay. We hope to have this feature enabled for all users in 2.4.0.

As shown in the video, in high action situations we have seen performance improvements of more than 2x the regular frame rate when bound by CPU performance.

This is the second round of our performance-focused improvements, but we are not done yet. We still have a port to D3D11 and much more planned for the future.

what do you guys think of the people stacking a lot of attack speed on whirling blades to have a faster clearspeed? it seems really interesting how even on caster builds a build that invests into attack speed instead of on damage can clear faster than a regular one, although I have seen it mostly be done with CoC cyclone/scharge which does benefit from the attack speed.
I personally tried it and there's nothing that feels faster than whirling blades with >300% increased attack speed

flame totems are decent but they are shit early and also fall off in late game
SWT are really solid, people played more before ascendancy but now nobody is playing them. You go crit, obviously, EB MoM and use vaal clarity to help with the high mana cost. Probably use carcass jack as well, they're really satisfying to play, nothing better than screenwide shatter.
Bladefall totems are pretty solid as well specially for leveling, the AoE is subpar but they have better damage then SWT
Spark totems probably still work fairly well but they're far from being a top tier build
I personally really hate RF totems since they're AoE is too small and the burning doesn't stack, some people say they're decent but I say flame totems beat RF totems in every way
Incinerate totems still work but are inferior to flame totems as well
Ancestral warchief is really strong, has retarded amount of damage and melee damage on full life uses your life so you can stay away at full life while they wack enemies into oblivion. They work on their own and also work to support earthquake builds.
Siege ballista is okay-ish, I haven't really tested it, it looks ok but not better than just using a regular bow skill

demon piety has a laser that deals really high damage, if it doesn't oneshot you it should come close, she spins around so you have to run in circles. Don't get hit by it
malachai has 2 oneshot moves, a slow charged slam and a teleport slam, both of them are telegraphed and easy to dodge, just take care cause there's so much shit going on in that arena, I'd say the projectiles he shoot are more dangerous.

I personally played it with assassin and it was really good capping crit with low investment while using controlled destruction, occultist is good because really helps sustaining ES with EB MoM, inquisitor can work as well if you use PtL, hatred and added fire. Don't use PtL or added fire if you're not inquisitor thought, with no penetration they're not very good. Hatred is ok cause there's no aura that can help with the phys damage better than that and shattering enemies is fairly good, no corpses means having to care less about DD/vaal DD from bameth/tormented vaal cultist/boxes and also fixes other problems like porcupines and freezes trash mobs

With trading you're balancing the randomness of item drops to your favor, since you might find great items that are no good for your build, but other players might need them, thus you trade them. If you're self found you can just get fucked by RNG and not get anything good; it seems pointless to me, the only thing you can do is hope you get something good, you can't influence it. reminder that premium tabs are NOT needed to 'win' in this game, i completed all 40 challenges in prophecy with the 4 default tabs and playing solo over the course of roughly 175 hours with the last 4 challenges taking up a good chunk of it, meaning even a casual player playing 1-2 hours a day over a 3 month league can get the 36/40 mtx reward very easily

Weapon with 1.2 base APS has a 15% increased attack speed multiplier, so the APS property shows 1.2*1.15 = 1.38.
Now if I have let's say a total of 50% IAS from passives what's my total APS?

The issue once leagues slow down isn't really selling, but rather buying. People that complain about items never selling either overprice their shit or don't set a price at all. Selling kind of trends back towards the start of the league where you can just dump a bunch of shitty rares in 1-4 chaos tabs and have it sell.

Buying decent rares right now on hardcore can be difficult. I think I had to wait for 4-5 people to be online when picking up gear for my last character.

Pyre is an alternative to Avatar of Fire, not to anything else in the build, it can also be used for an alternate build where you want the effects of a cold element spell but want to use fire multipliers instead of cold.

Acrobatics inherently makes sense because you get crazy high dodge which is calculated before block, it gets you much more overall damage mitigation when you get to ignore block and energy shield.

Avatar of Fire doesn't make sense unless you know about the Cold to fire support gem, which I didn't know about.

They don't make a cold to fire build deal more damage than a straight fire build so there is no synergy.
Avatar of Fire synergizes with Cold to Fire because it converts the rest of your cold damage to fire to consolidate damage types while its downside (no non-fire damage) is nullified by the Cold to fire gem because you wouldn't deal cold damage anyways as it has all been converted to fire.

Snowforged is just regular benefit because you only care about the fire damage
Cold to fire is synergy because they invalidate eachother's costs leaving only their benefits.

Converted spell damage would receive its skill tag bonuses twice, once prior to conversion and once following. Both bonuses of something like Izaro's Turmoil apply, with the cold damage % applying prior to conversion and fire damage % applying afterwards. You then have some tags that apply to both, which people call double dipping.

Ah that's right I forgot about slower projectiles and controlled destruction, and yeah GMP. Will probably run BL > Spell Echo > Faster Casting > GMP > Slower Projectiles > Lightning Pen. I think Slower Projectiles will greatly increase my damage output, while Lightning Pen is kind of needed if I want to get through resists. I don't really need more damage at that point but pen would probably be more important than controlled destruction. Is Spell Echo good on BL? I don't remember if I had that when I ran the build.
