Why do people think this? Fucking show up, suck, go 0-2, then go play casuals until the event is over. Make friends, they'll give you tips and input.

At my last tournament, a dude straight bodied because I fell for the most basic of shit. Like, I went pants on head retarded. I finally realized it when the second match started, turned the tables, then lost all my pressure and lost anyway.

After we were both out, he asked if I wanted to work on the MU. I didn't end up playing the same character, but he still gave me input.

There are games with auto combo if you want that. Melty has easy execution, but longer combos. VSav if you just want to teach her chains and start her there, but good luck with the 1f links.

Honestly, I would just find a game that she personally enjoys watching and/or chooses.

I started my niece on SFV because I was playing it at the time when she came over, but she struggled with even basic inputs. She jumps over fireballs with ease, though, so that's good I guess.

You always need someone in your group of friends that is much better than the rest imo. This is to either help the rest of you gain knowledge or just have harder matches to play against in general.

I have a buddy that I basically started taking FGs seriously with. We have a mutual friend that he hates playing with because one is stubborn as fuck and the other comes off as autistic and I'm better than you when it comes to FGs because he's been playing for so long. I know he doesn't mean to come off that way, but it's just him.

I always trained with the better friend when I wasn't playing with my training buddy because we worked opposite shifts, so he'd always just hop over to my house after work, play games for a few hours, then I'd head in to work.

I eventually became better than my training buddy, and he had a midlife FG crisis because of it.

It also all depends on your group of friends as well.

Hm, I disagree with this, but it all comes down to the individual. I have no issues with losing a 100 times if it leads me to getting that one win and progressing from there; however, my other friend gets pissed when he can't win, but fails to see why he's not winning.

Even last night, we played a FT10 with Boxer vs Nash. It was, like, 5-0, when I said, "Hey, be more aggressive as Nash. You can't be passive with him, try more hit and run." He did that, took two games, then stopped doing it, and it ended 10-2. He was then salty and logged off for the night. I can't even tell you the amount of salt he had when I was still playing Gief, would tell him how to beat Gief, then would just complain that jumping was a bad habit, even though i told him to just jump if he was expecting an SPD, not jump around like a mad man. He would then just continue to lose.

Again, it's all on the individual.

I found my better friend to be a wealth of knowledge, and he's helped me a lot over the years and still plays with me to this day, even though I'm still not on his level, and I feel I'm not where I could be if I didn't dick around so much.

Just called in sick for tomorrow so I can play fighting games, lads. And no, it's not my jive, I won't play 5.

1+2 - safe launcher, launches crouch.
db3 - low poke, +frames on hit
d3+4 - instant low crush, launch
f+4 - tracking move that's +frames on block
df1 & df4 - mid pokes, df4 has alot of pushback. df1 has more reward on CH
1 series - 1,3 . 1,1 . 1,2,4 . Love these, just throw some of these out.
ss2 - Amazing Evasion

Reversal: Use this when you're back is to the wall, and you if the opponent throws a punch at you, you wallsplat them and get a combo.

Falling Rain: 2nd best throw in the game, after wanning moon. Gives a full combo, and is easy to set up.

b+3 - Panic button. Punishable on block.
4 - 11 frame CH launcher.
CH ws1+2_ws1+2~d cancel: Yields the highest launching damage Asuka can do. Also it's safe, and has good range.
FC df2: Good low poke if in crouch. +18 on CH, which means you get a free 1,4. If your gangster you can: CH FC df2: cc, df2. If you're a boss, you can CH FC df2:cc:f+2 - which is a justframe launch. Asuka's hardest stuff.

Wall Combos:
W! 1+4,2,d4
W! b2,1,4
W! 2,1,1+2
W! b4,2
Thanks again K8 for bringing this up: you can resplat with d3+4, after a wallsplat. Totally forgot about that one.

Amazing setups:
At the wall: Do a df3, if hit, you get a W!, if blocked: ss2, W!. If they do anything after you're df3, they'll get W!'d

Oki at the wall: after you did your wall stuff, crouch and do a FC df3+4, buffer FR, this catches everyone that tech rolls. The throw can still be broken.
