Just finished Blood and Wine for the second time, but this time having romanced Triss in the original play through. I thought Yennefer's ending was much better, was actually pretty disappointed with her basically wanting to leave as soon as she could.

Except it's not like that. Geralt has a huge history with Yen and in the previous two games, depending on the player choice he has developed a serious bond with Triss. Having his memory back makes the situation interesting and complicated. On one side, his love for Yen has returned, on other his love for Triss hasn't just vanished.

My Geralt went with Triss because I enjoy their love story. Triss was a complete outsider in the books, she abused his amnesia in TW1, but she was still his ally and friend, always taking his side in the games. Their breakup and how they deal with it, trying to deny love but ultimately opening their hearts, it was beautiful. Geralt telling Triss he loves her and seeing her come back from that boat was amazing. I loved it, never enjoyed a video game romance like that before.

starting out, I went heavy attack, basically spamming Rend with Severance to kill shit.

At the end of the game I had enough alchemy to get protective coating. With ursine gear and Quen, I was invincible. I decided to respec into fast and strong + synergy to get more damage but also be more fragile.

Then I went to B&W, got Euphoria and started shitting 15k damage on fast attacks. I got Whirl and just became a blender of death.

And people will say the Biodrone infestation is fake. We got a poster with a Mass Effect related name asking for a literal Citadel DLC ending. This is not an isolated phenomenon, either. One of the most common complaints about B&W on their forums is there's no big party with all of their-I mean Geralt's- friends.

I really loved the first half of B&W, I thought it was amazing. But I'd expected the main story to be longer, considering how big the area is and how many side quests there are. I felt as if I'd barely scratched the surface when the point of no return already occurred and then it was straight to the endgame. So basically I wouldn't have minded if they'd axed some of the side quests in order to pour more resources into the main story. At least that's my main complaint about B&W.
