Wow people weren't kidding about this bug. I fought streak 5 to see how much damage I did and force closed the app. He heal 500 HP in the 10 seconds I left the app. Darn TinyCo making it impossible to beat him without shards.

I just realized it's actually inefficient for Gwen to fight Mysterio past streak 5. He one shot my team regardless at that point and since her damage sing as good as 2099, I could just use a health pack to let him fight again since ad of wasting a gas mask for her to only do like 200 damage

I also realized it's impossible to beat Mysterio because if he attacks first he'll one shot 2099, so I need to keep force closing the app until he gets attacks first. So if I attack first for like 700 damage and the next fight he attacks first, I'd have to force close, meaning he'll heal all the same I did in the first fight and I'd have wasted 1 health pack and 1 gas mask.

Shouldn't be an issue. I'm pretty sure The Mysterio fight won't be disappearing until you've recruited him, at least not until the Event is over. It probably works the same way as the Lizard and Otto fights from last act--the streaks beyond 3 will disappear, but the first three will be there until you beat him.

Even if he does disappear, it shouldn't be a huge deal as long as you've been collecting gas masks and training Pete. Even though Pete's weak to Mysterio, you can send both Pete and Gwen and force quit if Mysterio attacks Pete. I just beat Streaks 1-3 in a couple minutes with level 2 Gwen and level 4 Pete; between the two of them they finished him all three times before he could even get off an attack.

Mysterio is toxic-type. Spider-Man is quick-type, weak to toxic-type. You're taking more damage with him on the team. (Though Mysterio might be able to one-shot you even without him at that level)

That's not exactly how it works. When an enemy attacks, it targets a specific team mate. Even though damage is distributed across all characters, the targeted character applies its weaknesses/resistances to the damage taken. So if he targets Gwen, you'll take resisted damage, but if he targets Pete, you'll take extra. This is all a matter of RNG, so you can force quit and reload if he targets Pete.

Of course, doing this across an entire fight if ge has too much health to take down quickly would be sort of a waste of time.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I just got ads for the very first time in game. I started the game with the original hack, then paid for a few characters starting with Quake, then started using the new hacks the last event, so I've never been eligible for ads, yet there they are now. I got 9 shards out of it before the option went away.

I put in the full team of Petey, Gwen & Spiderman 2099 and you can generally survive one hit with the full squad. Peter and 2099 have their health upgraded just to rank 2. When Mysterio swings, if he hits Peter it's a KO for the whole fucking team but if you keep trying with the reset trick, you'll eventually get an attack order where all three of your guys hit, Mysterio hits you and you survive, and you get another 2 or 3 hits in before Mysterio's 2nd attack. I did this to beat Streak 7 Mysterio in only 2 attacks/6 gas masks. This is the first time I'm actually done early with both limited time decorations and a streak boss, I'm stoked.

a warning for future event episodes/acts:

progressing the gay little story missions(not the special event missions on the bulletin board, but the ! ones on the left side of the screen with obvious event-related cinematic dialogue before and after running them) is usually a 1 to 3 step process to get all the fight elements open & running on events in this game. BUT! Sometimes you don't actually want to star tthem because of gamebreaking bugs or because with things like the Mysterio fight locked, you get more of the Sonic things on your mission board so you can stock up early. Regularly check here and on plebbit and discuss strategy during events, it's almost impossible to succeed without the community finding the pitfalls and fast tracks together. In your case, it would have been better to not open up Mysterio at all at this point, to optimize your mission board rewards for all Gwen items faster.

I think it's OK, though the art style is absurdly bland, and it's weird that it's getting such a long run when Spectacular was cut so short.

Spidey's endless talking to himself is fitting and funny, and Principal Coulson is the best part of the early seasons.

I can see why that anon said to just power level the characters in the AG app and not use it for healing, Mysterio keeps getting back to the same health level when I woke up this morning, regardless of what he was at in the normal app.

The way I did it was power level to 8/8 for everyone possible using the hack, then go on the normal one, fight something, make sure I took damage, jumped back on the hack, went to fight something so the game would still have them needing a health pack, bought every available health pack on the hack, jumped back on the normal one, fought Mysterio, took him down as much as I could, healed using the packs that I bought before, fought him again, etc etc until I got him past streak 7

I ended up finishing him with 2 attacks (6 masks total). As long as he didn't attack Spidey, and I got a full round in before Mysterio, I was able to burn through him and tank 1 hit to go another round.

For people who have Black Knight at level 3 and above, how often do you get event missions with his 6hr Engage in Fisticuffs as the longest action? I've been keeping him at level two to avoid that 15 hour mission, but I'm getting a ton of missions with his 6hr, which tend to be less efficient than any other mission I get loot from.

I get the feeling Venom will work a bit like Bucky in CW, though maybe not quite as last minute.

He'll probably be the boss for Ep6, and you'll have to beat him a specific number of times to make him available to invite in Ep7. It's also shown in the event deco shop that in order to invite him, you'll need all the deco from the rest of the event, heavily implying he won't be available until Ep7. You'll also probably need to farm materials from Carnage's fight in order to recruit him after you've invited him.

Calling it now, it's going to be a mess. Don't slack off on training, and you'll probably need samples, too, so don't slack off on fighting symbiote grunts.

There's always a demand for Carnage. He was clamored for for years on Marvel Heroes until the devs gave in and made him a team up hero, and Future Fight made him the first character you had to pay for their subscription to unlock. I wouldn't put it past TinyCo to make Carnage unlockable if it meant more money.

Nah, there's no way anywhere near 1/3 of total active players quit. Keep in mind that the subreddit has less than 4000 subscribers in total and the game has a few million downloads.

Downloads doesn't equal users, though. Probably less than 0.1% of the people who download F2P phone shit ever play long enough for the developers to see a single cent in even ad revenue, and the majority of revenue comes from people who put enough time and effort into the game to get pissed off by an event like this. Not to mention that this even coincided with the release of Pokemon Go--taking that into consideration, I'd hardly say a third of the active userbase bamfing over the course of the last five weeks is a stretch.

The next episode of Family Guy's dc event just started. Batman is the premium character and Aquaman is the f2p one. Last week Superman was the premium and Wonder Woman was the f2p. That's the kind of hard core jewing you get with a TinyCo game that's been around a while.

So what's the end game with this shit? Are they ever going to do events with previously released characters or offer them for sale in the future? Kinda fucked up if not. I'd imagine you'd turn away a lot of potential players if they came in thinking "Oh boy, I can get Groot and Black Panther and Spider-Man and all kinds of other cool characters" just to be told they can only ever have gotten Groot if they started playing months ago
