The 50+ floors are almost guaranteed to be worse then 1-50.

Either it's going to continue to be at its current difficulty level, and it'll just be the same thing as now except without the moderately-entertaining process of getting a fast-tracked leveling curve and gradually unlocking your skills, and with obsolete gear rewards (because even if they let you get an improved Aetherpool weapon, they're not going to let it be as good as any of the actual 3.4-exclusive progression stuff).

Or they're going to make it more difficult, and it's going to lose the one thing about it that's actually fun, which is that it's totally viable to do as a 1-2 man party, or an all-DPS composition, and things like that, instead of One Tank One Healer Two DPS. And the gear will still be obsolete.

No offense intended but... how do you manage to have your DPS be this low?
I was able to kill the A8S dummy with a Sephirot weapon already and I'm by no means a godly DRG. You must be missing out on some basic fundamentals to be unable to beat the Nidhogg dummy which has even less health, with an i235 weapon.
Have you tried looking up some guides, and actually reading all of it? And I don't mean just reading the opener part and then calling it a day, read the whole thing.

I'm only being charitable. The FATEs that are just giant packs of trash are the least shitty ones in the game. The ones that spawn single enemies are even worse, because now it's still a braindead, nonthreatening trash mob, but now it has a giant sack of HP and a broken scaling system that never manages to strike a reasonable balance regardless of whether it's being soloed, beaten on by 50+ people, or anything in between.

Well as it stands you're gonna continue being bad until you do so then, because you're obviously missing out on something really basic with the job. There's no way your DPS should possibly be this low on DRG with an i235 weapon. People were pulling those numbers with Sephirot weapons already.

My friends like it, I like the aesthetics and BRD so I'm leveling it.
It's fun but the best way people describe it is "keyboard piano" as it's pretty complex.*
* Complex for ff14 standards, which isn't too hard.

Most are, if not all of them.
The problem with FATEs is that they're mindless and takes little effort to finish, which breeds so many unskilled and bad players. They scale in such a retarded way that the next time it pops up it takes longer for it to beat because they get so much HP and pretty much become damage sponges. The only good FATEs are the superboss ones since it actually has mechanics. I like the superboss chain FATE in Churning Mists.

They have good flavor text but that's only what's good about them. I'd take challenging, overleveled overworld mobs that give very nice EXP than FATEs any day, but sadly that's not the case with overworld mobs in this game. They could make overworld mobs more interesting like how they were in FFXI or even in 1.0. Some work in packs and anybody nearby will attack you if you attack one of them, some mobs follow you (Aldgoats in 1.0 for example) some mobs even just hanging out, chilling, doing stuff. (Like Goblin, Qiqirn, Pirate, Bandit camps in ARR but they should be more dynamic IMO) etc. Also NMs should be in this game honestly (boss monsters that spawn regularly in the area where their kind is usually at)

In-game beastiary when? Also the devs should make effort in putting more lore in the areas than just from FATEs, honestly. Like (ENGAGING) side-quests, but I expect too much.

The opener is pretty fun, and there's a certain excitement when you cast Wildfire. A lot of the job outside of that is just learning how to deal with movement (once you get Gauss Barrel) which is either extremely obnoxious or pretty interesting, depending on how you see it.

Yeah, I had fun until about lv 50. Then got over that "wah I can't move, fuck SE" shit at abut 56 or so.
I sometimes feel like sustaining damage outside of wildfire is too much effort for the piss and ground up 1 key it takes to do it. But the wildfire damage makes me keep missing it and going back.

Yes they're mostly punching sacks but then, fates are meant to be the lowest of all content in terms of difficulty where you can level in party or solo.
Personally i'm more concerned that dungeons are becoming instanced fates than fates being easy.

I really like FATEs in concept but it's just bad at execution. Nobody really likes doing them is what it is. I absolutely agree with you on making the world feel more alive, but some of them are *that* interesting IMO.

Kinda sucks that even the world doesn't feel dangerous and the overworld mobs aren't challenging though, especially if you compare it from FFXI and XIV 1.0, ARR is child's play and feels like they went backwards with that. Shouldn't the world be more dangerous after the Calamity?

I mean, they kind of are already. Trash mobs, then boss, more trash mobs, then another boss...dungeons are pretty much as casual as FATEs but at least bosses have mechanics, unlike normal boss FATEs. Kinda sad dungeons aren't very challenging, really. Especially for a casual like me.

For example +29 unsyncs at lv 59, +28 at 57 and so on.
Only tips i can give you is to kill absolutely everything from 1-40 and never use poms of flight. Get to lv 60 asap so every single silver chest at 41-50 are productive.
And if you don't get a single upgrade in a stage, kill the boss, don't leave and log off for 10 mins to try again. Better than having to go through 1-40 all over again.
