There was a total of one part in the dash course that had me very frustrated, it's the second or so door where you just hit a switch and have to enter a door, but the way the door is spaced out means that you think you will have to dash the whole way, failing every time because your dash doesn't cool down fast enough and you just do some awkward shuffle. What you're actually supposed to do is dash once and run the rest of the way.

No chest auto sort. No inventory - chest auto stack.
Fall damage is the only really dangerous thing in the game. You can't negate it.
Armor has no intrinsic features or set bonuses, you just wear it for the bonuses where everything in a tier is equal.
Despite being futuristic, the basic movement is so much goddamn worse. No wings or flight and the double jumps suck ass.

It's not Terraria in space, if it was, it would be great.
It's better than it was now but it's still incomplete in many ways.

I've noticed nobody seems to have their ship upgraded. Is it really difficult to do now?

(Don't know if the wiki's out of date on this, given the Ship Upgrade page still says you need steel armour to do Erchius and it rewards you with breathing apparatus.)

The 'milking' doesn't have an animation. You just hover over the cow and it's highlighted when you can 'use' it. Then the milk pops out. I guess for a mod you can add an animation, though.

It's fairly easy to do, you can either pay pixels for an upgraded liscense, or recruit crew members via penguin mercenaries or colonizing and helping your colonist with fetch quest (sometimes who they tell you to kill will surrender and ask to join your crew as well). Every 2 crew members recruited is another upgrade level.

Though finding the upgrade modules is uncommon, you'll still run across plenty looking for matter manipulator modules & tech cards.

Though having ship upgrades is no longer a requirement to progress past the story like it was in the past.

You can go to anywhere in your system without needing to use the FTL drive. Right click to zoom out and you can see the other planets in your system.

Also, I don't remember what you need to make the first level EPP, but I don't think it was erchius fuel.

You only need fuel to go to different systems. You can freely travel between planets in a system.

Also, typically you spawn close enough on a moon to get a handful of fuel gems, then port out when choking.

Florian planets should be any forest. Unless you got unlucky and have a dwarf system with no forests, then lol better hope you can get 25 crystals.

they haven't done character wipes for a very long time, but it was recommended to make a new save for updates anyway because of the changes to universe generation.

That said, there was a time when thruster upgrades and FTL upgrades were two separate quests, so it was more intuitive that you can do that then. Now it doesn't even tell you that you can travel without fuel.

You are most likely in a Celestial Tower, they may have redone those things. Those Celestial Towers are more or less sacrificial locations where they throw Avians off to see if they can fly like Kluex did.

Why even remove Outpost sidequests
I know they were a 'test' of the randomly generated ones, but they still had more flavor than 'go back and forth across 4 pixels to the NPC right beside me' or 'find my idiot friend and escort them back' a thousand times.

At least the escort missions don't suck shit, and they teleport if they fall behind.

Is anyone else unable to stream starbound using OBS? Now that I think about it, out of 30+ games, I've only been unable to stream 2 over the years. The original Stronghold (not the HD remake) due to compatibility issues that I eventually fixed after several hours, and Starbound. No idea why the latter doesn't work. It just shows a black square, or that weird phenomenon where it takes a random image and repeats it 100+ times over a random area of the screen. Again, I should emphasize that this ONLY happens when I try to stream Starbound and not any other game. Google turns up no results that explain this

Is it easier to find people to actually play Starbound with now that it's 1.0? Is there even a /sbg/ server up? The last /sbg/ one I remember just fell flat-out dead once the owner let his rabid ERP buddies who took the game way too seriously have admin powers.

After it died all I could find for so long was horrible RP server that were 80% people sitting around in secret custom items/techs stroking their egos over them and the people who weren't doing this hardly ever spoke or left and never came back. If you make custom stuff just to keep it a secret for attention you're an asshole.

Yep. It's definitely the guards who become aggressive. Citizens won't fight back if you steal or have your weapon out, but guards will attack if they see you doing it.

I found this a while back, found a second one recently too. It spews rainbow particles and tears open holes in space-time, it hits like a truck. 130-ish damage on endgame stuff. Astral Tear does 30-70 too, and persists.
