Pick a GS and a DB, both with 100 true raw.

In MH4U it would show the GS as having 480 attack and the DB having 140 attack, that's called displayed raw, which is the true raw multiplied by the class modifier.

That modifier is only applied to make it easier to tell which weapons have higher damage per hit on average, but the damage formula uses the true raw value. In that sense, Generations is more "sincere" than 4U, but it's easy to understand why you would be confused.

The shockwave dealt decent damage, but not enough to just dump all your phials and the red shield all at once for that one attack. Usually people ultra AED'd fallen/sleeping monsters because it was almost always a guaranteed KO, which would give you opportunity to recharge your shit all over again before the mon got up. Other than that, it was probably meant as a punishment. The red shield alone made CB that much more powerful, so they probably put the ultra there so that smart players would realize that and not waste the shield on one attack, as the super is good enough on the long run.

You won't get much chance to spam full burst on the end game monsters, it's better to increase your poking attack. Razor sharp is good for not sharpening every 3 minutes even more so if you spam shelling and/or fullburst. Art expert is a luxury, but if you can get it, it's good to have.

Recitals were OK before the double note mechanic. Now they are just a waste of dps, they do a decent damage on their own, but the cooldown is so big that it isn't worth it anymore. Although if you get double notes+recitals, I can see healing songs be really powerful, like, free dusts of life. Okay, so, I have a pretty important question.

First of all, Tenderizer. Does it apply to ranged weapons? Because people claim it's melee only, yet Malfestio S Gunner has access to it, which would make it kind of useless. Also, does it apply on all parts hit with a pierce shot?

Next question, this one's more important. Guard on HBG. In older games, some Gunner sets had Guard Up, but now the Zamtrios Gunner set has Guard, which seems really odd if that didn't apply to HBG. Do you guys think it'd be worth going Guard +2 on HBG?

God's Isle worth using at all outside of support gunning in multiplayer?

His back pelt feet and arms were bouncing me and I was using LS. So when I tried to do the little A thrust at his legs it would bounce off his feet, if I tried to do the vertical X slash it would bounce off his back or arms. I could hit him in his thighs, belly or head, but for the trajectories on most of my attacks I would end up hitting bounce zones half the time and forget his head, I could only hit that when he was exhausted. Regardless, apex was shit because your weapons bounced all the time, this is the same fucking idea, bounce doesn't make fights hard, it makes them tedious, especially when there is literally no reason you should bounce. His fucking claws I understand, but his tiny little feed and his backpelt? It's literally just capcom being like "WOW SO HARD WEAPON BOUNCE!". I didn't cart and was nowhere near carting at any point, I solo'd him in 20 minutes, but that would have been 10-12 if I could fucking hit him. All it did was pad that shitty fight.

What weapon in Monster Hunter Generations play most like Charge Blade from Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate? I am having a weapon crisis and have swapped to many and can't just seem to find any that flows well for me.

I know it's not CB of any style, and I've tried Lance, Gunlance, Switch Axe, Great Sword, Hammer. Hunting Horn so far and none just have that same feel that 4u CB had. Nothing seems to flow as seamlessly and smooth like the weapon I'm use to.

projectile moves thru air, it slows down and weakens eventually. the point ingame right BEFORE this happens is "critical range" and is essentially your sweet spot distance you need to be from the target to max damage, depending on your shot type. scatter being closest pierce being longest. deadeye extends the critical distance so you dont need to be so damned close.

it has nothing to do with critical hits or affinity and does not alter your damage in any way over being in ciritcal range without deadeye

It wouldn't matter, but with low damage weapons the damage numbers get closer together after the multipliers reduce damage. With higher damage, slow weapons the damage is much further apart so raw is always worth more than elemental by a lot.

There are now other variants of monsters that are more threatening, though, and no G-Rank means female armors don't become badly-designed bikini armors. Make no mistake, I'm not against bikini armors, but all options that weren't them in high-rank degrade into them at G. I'd be heartbroken if the Astalos armor went from the amazing look it has into something revealing and flimsy.

Except Kirin, which goes from something cute with a cool wig to something completely lame.

I was saying since the beginning that he has no reason to bounce you with his backpelt or his feet. These things are not INTUITIVE. The hermitaur has a big wyvern skull shell of a monoblos, this LOOKS hard, this is intuitive. The issue is that 3 parts of his body bounce, all of which are densely packed together on a relatively small monster. 2 of the 3 can be negated with a higher sharpness weapon sure, but how many blue sharpness weapons are available at 2* in guild? Not many. Yes, I could go and make a Narga, Tigrex or Steve weapon, but that doesn't negate the fact that needing to pack such specific weapons for the monster is fucking stupid. While I am a firm believer that people should do most or all of the village before touching online, I am also a firm believer in the fact that you should always be provided with the tools to effectively tackle a challenge when it is introduced to you, which you do not.

The problem with 3U was that the game locked you on a table when you created your character. The others gave you a new table whenever you restarted the game.
