It's the difference between the move's recovery frames and the amount of blockstun/hitstun it does.


For example if a move has 4 recovery frames and it does 8 frames of blockstun it'll be
8 - 4 = +4 on block. It means that you have a 4 frames window that allows you to continue the blockstun if you have a 4 frames or less move.

If a move is for example -4 on block, it means the opponent can hit back if he has a 4 frames or less move.

Sometimes you just have to take some guesses in fighting games, and you can happen to make the wrong guesses a few times in a row. This is normal and something to be expected, but there's no reason you should be punished even more. If you get hit a few times in a row, your punishment is that you are already losing, no reason to lose even more.

Clawed's stances problem is it suits well for very systematic pressure and even some curious mixup-frametrap combinations, but one mistake and you're fucked. In contrast you can keep up functionally better pressure and mixups w/o claw, and that one mistake won't fuck you over as hard.
