I'm glad they're doing it Modern and Classic again, I've got my hopes up for either Boom Sonic (Done well) or Dreamcast Sonic, but marketing for Generations 1 was all to do with retro places and familiar levels, this teaser looks new.

And we do know the game will be new, just read about what was said by Iizuka at the event. It's a brand new experience and is not a sequel. A new experience certainly implies new levels, and the fact that it isn't a sequel should only make that sound more likely.

And again, the idea of slowing the game down has existed since the initial idea behind Boost gameplay was introduced in Unleashed.

The mix of Classic and Modern is what Generations was all about.
I don't think people necessarily wanted 'Generations 2' exactly, it's just that the Modern gameplay in it worked, so they wanted more of that.

Maybe Resistance: Fall of Hog or whatever they'll call it won't actually play like that, but all we have to go on so far is a trailer that screams "Generations 2: But Darker", and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit worried.

Colors was popular and well received. So was Generations. Lost World was an exclusive for a console ten people in the entire world owned so it's not really a big surprise it underperformed.

What I don't get is why every single time a new Sonic game is announced everyone always immediately decides that every previous game was bad, and conveniently forgets that they were just praising the game that came before it.

It's the same shit as people demanding to only play as Sonic when we haven't had anyone else in 10 years, or complaining about stories when we haven't had one since 06.

These people just don't care about reality. They don't play the games. They aren't interested in the games. They just want to meme.
