Ulduar was the most polished and well thought raid, it had the only good and proper hard mode mechanics wow has ever had, because it was changed to shit the next tier, I guess blizzard thought giving some thought to the shit they make would be too tiring, just put a button to change modes.

healers are all good for different things, but paladins are possibly the weakest. especially on insta 60 servers where you can make a pally alt and buff raids outside the zone in. they're still kind of nice for sitting on a tank or something, but a shaman or priest can do that too albeit less efficiently. if you want a retard strong healer go druid. roll lifeblooms and watch as you nearly double everyone's healing.

So I think I fell for the Dalaran meme. Dungeons are unplayable, because of the combat bug. As a mage, I basically can't keep my mana up because I am constantly in combat. Does this bug happen on other servers too? I can't imagine how annoying this will be at raids, so I'd prefer to jump shit sooner rather than later.

Currently considering GD or TrueWow, what do you guys recommend? Can I somehow transfer my characters to those servers?

Nah thats a largly dalaran problem. I have no idea how true-wow is but GD doesn't have bugs like that and there is a wpsg guild so you would have some bros to chat and hang out with as you leveled.

You know having played a while now, this seems the most important part about a healthy server. Progression actually appears to add to a better community and more people staying on the server having fun. Look at GD, it's people dead inside, same as Warmane. The only server with decent scripts, pathing and a transparent dev team is TrueWoW. Their PrimalWoW realm has real progression and the community is tight. I welcome anyone who wants to play WotLK eventually with a great and healthy community. Unless of course you just want to power level to 80 and run some raids and be done with it, then yes, go ahead play on other servers. But if you're unhappy with Dalaran, come to TrueWoW where things are much better.

Just check out the website and the forums, the best advice I can give you, don't go to reddit or even here for advice, check out how the developers communicate with the playerbase. If you don't see much activity in the forums/bug tracker or dev blog, just don't even invest your time. Many servers have bugs that haven't been fixed for years, just choose one that you think has decent community and devs and level up a bit before you make a full commitment to get to 80. This is my only advice I can give you from someone who's played on Warmane, GD and Dalaran.

Because Dalaran's draw distance is Nost tier. The Outland bombing quests are the hardest quests in the game on Dalaran because by the time the server loads the mobs for you they're nearly out of range.

I don't think most people have the sadomasochism you actually require to sit down and grind guards for three hours for 20% of a level, or a pair of boots that give you +4 STAmina to replace your boots that give you +3 STAmina, or to grind rep with some guards so that you aren't killed when you walk into what should be a friendly town.
