How long did it take for you all to realize that fighting games are just gambling and mind games with a manual dexterity requirement? Cause I just discovered it now after watching Evo ESPN. This stuff happened to most games and it's mostly because they fucked up Evo a bit this year, Tony already said they underestimated how popular SFV and Pokken would be and because they wanted to get the ESPN thing to go right they spent a lot of time on that side and ended up negliging the rest of the tournament. It's just a transition year of getting new games + ESPN so they weren't as prepared as usual, they didn't treat it worse on purpose.
Also FChamp has already said he was quitting UMvC3 like three times (Last time being just a few months before Evo saying he wouldn't enter UMvC3 at Evo)

tick throws, learn it. clk is a good tick throw, as is lp, mp, fhp. All chops on hit are great to setup throws, mp chop is the best on hit but hp chop leads directly into power drop which is guaranteed, unlike mp chop setups.

Normal punches can be cancelled into one strength lower chop/elbow on hit, or same strength chop/elbow on counterhit. Alex has great EX moves. So I'm trying to learn how to play KI. It's my first fighting game. I got through the basic dojo lessons okay after a little bit of trouble but I can't even complete the first advanced lesson... The anti air one where you have to crouch anti air, followed by a heavy endoduken, followed by a shadow endoduken.

Not entirely. Stuff like that is purely optimization. If you plan on maining Jago, sure that stuff is pretty important as the health gain in instinct is important. Just understand the KI exclusive mechanics involved in combos, as well as shadow counters, and the character specific stuff will come with time. Juggles should be the last thing to focus on learning.

It's hard to get people to try it is a big problem. So many people refuse to install Windows 10 to give the game a shot, even though it really isn't that awful, and you can install it alongside your existing OS and use it just for KI. I've had my fair share of issues with the operating system, don't get me wrong, I just troubleshoot my problems even if it takes several hours.
Not to mention the combo system deters a ton of people, even though I think a lot of people would really enjoy the mindgames and mental aspect. It's not as much about guessing as it is about hard reads and downloading player tendencies. I've tried to get people to like this game but it's a lot of work.
