This guy was really damn slow, seemed to be always JUST on the cusp of grasping key concepts but never applying them correctly. Which was weird, since he was doing pretty fuckin good for the Soulsborne equivalent of Mr. Bean. Didn't die early enough as he should've, and despite constantly getting hit and running out of vials and dying he eventually made it to the bridge.

About his fifth time playing cleric beast he said he realized how to beat him and went to the menu to load up his lvl 185 character. Jesus Christ.

I've 100% it. I dunno, it has fun gameplay, but the way they handled the game (not the story, I thought it was fine) was terrible. Open world is a terrible idea and doesn't fit with MGS. Mission style is also not so good, but it worked for PW, I guess. Honestly, MGS has to be linear because it's strong points are the storytelling and character development. In a open world, you can't have that.

My graphics card is fairly shit (650ti) but my ram and CPU are fairly decent. I'm getting fairly annoying framerate drops in DS3 (only started it today). Effects and moving the camera fuck it the most in my experience. I've put graphics on low and resolution on as low as it can get without entering a black border (I think it's 1600x900) but that isn't helping a great deal.
Any other advice for stuff I could do? I'd much rather have a smooth than a pretty game and while it's virtually playable now it still fucks up on occasion.

Not him, but I've tried this before back when Sword Master cheese was a thing. They did okay in pve but struggled against later bosses like NK and Soul of Cinder. The split damage and From's secret nerf really ruined them though but on top of that they're slow and have terrible range. They need their stunlock back or split damage fixed to be remotely useable again in pvp.

So /dsg/ I noticed something strange last night

I thought I'd jump back on my main for some pontiff cancer duels. I hadn't played that character for about a week and a half because I was having fun with a different build. Before I started the new character I had done enough pvp that I was familiar with a ton of people that frequented post pontiff. I had either fought them directly or had atleast seen them around in fc's with people I didn't atleast think I'd seen before being a tiny minority

On my newer character though I felt like I was playing against an entirely different population. I went through the same thing with familiarizing myself with a new group of players none of whom I thought I'd fought before.

That being said as soon as I booted up my main I was immediately summoned into an FC where I knew 4/5 phantoms, none of which I ever ran into on my alt, almost as if my different characters were visible to two completely separate groups of players

What the fucks up with that?

Right now poison is not accessible but i opted for the falchion and fisticuffs because why not right now since poison scales with DEX.

So I'm trying to play DaS2 as my last Souls game since I never played it on release after hearing about how bad it is and honestly this is even worse than I expected.

Why do people even pretend to like it? It's genuinely terrible. It has worse graphics, animations, hitboxes, mechanics, and settings than the first and is basically a completely different game in almost every respect. Say what you will about DaS3 and BB but at least the former feels like a Souls game and the latter feels like an interesting twist on a Souls game. Dark Souls 2 genuinely feels like a shitty Chinese ripoff of DaS1. The only thing I can say it has going for it is the large amount of different outfits.

Just run through the arrow salvo and kill the knight to the right iirc. The one on the left can't shoot you because of LoS when you get to the top and he won't move so you only need to deal with kicking the right knight off the ledge. From there, there's a bonfire right next to it after a short drop.
