Even then Jerry was made to be hated so I have a soft spot for him and So Sorry isn't that bad once you separate him from his background, and no one is going to accidentally find So Sorry. He is too well hidden to fight him without knowing before hand.

Things like the CORE and Mettaton make me think Science. I wouldn't think Culture; if anything they are highly receptive to human culture, considering they take whatever stuff of ours trickles down there. Domination could work too, considering how much importance is put on defending themselves from/capturing humans. I can't think of what could urge them onto or repel them from Diplomacy.
I really like thinking up stuff from other media working in Civ5. Too bad there's only one mod for Undertale and I can't even use it.

Instead of admitting that she didn't actually know anything about souls like she claimed she used some weird blueprints she found in the basement to build a machine she only sort of knew the purpose for to execrate a substance she only sort of understood and then injected it into a bunch of monsters.

At that point yeah she didn't know what would happen and you could excuse her for that BUT she then didn't show any sort of caution and pretty much let all her experiments run around free without any long term observation. The fact that the amalgamate were in close enough proximity to each other to fuse at all was a massive mistake on her part. Beyond that she got too excited and told the families that they had returned without waiting to see if there would be any long term effects to randomly super charging monsters with an unknown substance. Not to mention the whole mess with returning Flowey to Asgore's garden instead of keeping it under long term watch.

I'm not saying that Alphys is unlikable or doesn't deserve a happy ending but its bullshit that she pretty much never gets called out for her shit and that she gets a free pass in the end while all the other characters who did bad things suffer for it in some way.

Nobody is gonna arguing that lying to Asgore wasn't a huge fuck up, but she didn't really do terrible making due with what she had after that, considering she was working alone with entirely unknown science and didn't get entirely catastrophic results (Flowey did do what he was supposed to, the amalgamates didn't but were a positive byproduct.)

I think the big difference between Alphys and the other "bad guys" is that she actually makes the effort to change and to try and to fix what she had done wrong on her own, with just a light push in that direction. Let's take Asgore, for example: The guy's doing bad shit, he knows he's doing bad shit, but he refuses to stop doing bad shit until basically the entire Underground comes to stop him moments before goring you. I sometimes bully animals because I get angry and annoyed with how retarded they sometimes are. I don't actually cause real harm to them, just scare and do mischief to them and mostly I just do it while drunk.
For example I kept poking a rolled up hedgehog that jumped back every time I poked it until it rolled off into ditch and I laughed as it took the animal a few moment to realize that it's gonna drown unless it unfolds and gets its nose outta the water. I'm mostly apathetic to her. Her character arc had potential, but then it just doesn't go anywhere, and she just switches between acting like a mom meme and an asshole through the TP ending, which killed what little fondness I had for her.
