Tokyo field is the best field to date, presentation wise and design wise.

1) Best field BGM.
2) MPA doesn't run around to a million different areas look for emergency codes, the blinking yellow dots tell you exactly where you want to be, making everything more efficient.
3) No single party area boss arena meaning solo players can also fight the boss with other players.
4) Less likely to be pestered by mobs when trying to gather/fish.
5) Can roll around at the speed of sound, which is convenient and really enjoyable.

However, the design of the quest is pretty much the absolute fucking worst for someone trying to solo it, which is going to be the case for anyone running it nowadays. Every previous area in the game mostly got away with being low poly because they were mostly natural areas, or gigantic alien temples or space ships. It was a bit of an artistic loophole, I guess?

But they try to copy actual real life areas the game's limitations have become way more obvious. It's terribly unflattering, it's like they're lifted out of the city areas from the Sonic Adventure games over a decade ago with 60+ fps and modern shaders

Let me put your question in a different way; 'why are they designing something in an MMO around multiplayer? It's not like anyone plays with other people.' I feel like the problem is really elsewhere than what you guys are arguing about.

We're at a time where in PSO2,in my opinion, massive spawns and PSE Bursts don't matter much outside of AQs. Not sure about the fun factor of having a lot of mobs spawning vs mobs spawning in only one area because that's really subjective.

The problem is that people don't run MPAs not because their design is flawed but, in the case of Tokyo for example, the incentives for playing the map with a 12/12 group completely disappeared with the Gidorah triggers literally a week after the map was released.

You don't have to make people run your content for months necessarily, but I think that a week was really too fast for how soon Tokyo MPAs died.

Not the guy you're speaking with, but I do minimum difficulty unless doing higher gets me another CO done. Its a waste of time doing it on higher difficulties just so most mobs can still die in one PA for most classes.
It'd be different if all free fields were XH and also had a chance to drop relevant endgame items or such done on that difficulty, but well, it doesn't. Closest thing is stones from ecodes and I'm not sure there is one for a free field that isn't max difficulty only.
Really that just leaves me with Kuron and Tokyo and I don't need anything from Kuron.
I know some people like to challenge themselves, but without a single worthwhile reward for the extra time (and none too challenging content all in all) why even bother. I don't need an excube when LQ/EQs shits those out.

You already run around fast enough, while this is a positive, it's obnoxious and one of the reasons this field(and the beach wars MPA) suck so much. Twelve people run into a pack of mobs with the speed boost and 75% of the mobs are instantly deleted from non-class skills.

It's casual pandering and bad. Going fast is casual pandering by itself(as is the entire free field) but a speed boost that also makes you 1 shot mobs in a line regardless of your gear is fucking atrocious.

When solo, it's pretty good to go fast, but the line attack is still obnoxious to use and doesn't add anything of value.

Tokyo's were a step in the right direction in being distinctive from other fields in an interactive manner at least. But it also made doing it solo worse than any other exploration with the spawn points and QP requirement to clear (also no guaranteed boss is just ass).
They could have at least make spawns closer to players if its a low man mpa/is solo. And done something about that new spawn zone lag between clearing one with no ecode after, that is just annoying.

I have friends, I play with someone duo 100% of the time and never solo, I also do 4 person parties a lot of the time while playing.

I simply know that the vast majority of players play time in free fields, including this one, will be done solo after 1-2 weeks of the field being out.

Gathering/bgm aren't positive things that matter at all for gameplay in a field.

Having no boss is a negative, and the train boss isn't even on the free field. The free has HAS NO FUCKING BOSS, which is inexcusable.

The tank is not a boss, it's a trash mob with lots of HP. I don't think I've ever died to a tank regardless of how badly I played.

TAJA PP Save only gets reduced if you are not using FI weapons. For example, you can be HU/FI, use a HU equipable knuckles and still get the full bonus. But if you switch to using swords, then the PP save bonus gets reduced.

If I'm not mistaken, you have to elect to install the English translation patches with the Tweaker. The server list should be translated with the basic patch.

Since you said you're getting a shitload of errors though the first thing I'd do is perform a file check with the official launcher, just to make sure your ducks are in a row

It turns out the errors were just to do with Gameguard. There were also crashes of PSO Tweaker itself when I ran PSO2.

I googled it and apparently this is just Gameguard saying "fuck you, you have something extra going on there". The error is NP1013 or something, and errors with NP are GG errors.

That said, are other people having no problems with Tweaker at the moment? Google took me to a thread on Reddit from 6 months ago where a bunch of people had my exact problem but it should've been fixed since then right?

Okay, I seem to have fixed the error. I've installed all the translation patches through Tweaker but for some reason the FMV subtitles were in Japanese. Well at least it works now.

If you're only whacking it looks like one of the strongest wands, the PP gimmick shouldn't affect you at all, isn't the +PP back on hits enough to cover when used on clusters?

Well, it's not bad but it's obviously the least useful among orbit weapons. PP pot goes waste so all it matters is the damage. Orbit is very strong, close to austere, but unless you are techer main I wouldn't recommend getting it.
