I'll repost this from a thread on /v/, because why not? This is Overwatch general.

You know how many more matches I have lost than won overall? 9. So, going from my peak of rank 51, I have lost more than a rank a match, all things--leavers on my team causing my rank to drop, leavers on other team making matches meaningless, retarded teammates (and anybody who is half-competent has run into morons who make horrible character selections and refuse to switch), etc.

I have a 48% win rating, and I have dropped 10 ranks. I am now getting ranked with people 15+ ranks lower than I am on both teams--people who do not know how to play the game at all. I am getting matched with people who are ranked 24. I am getting matched with Junkrats that have .8 k/d ratio in a game where assists are counted as kills.

This is hell. I will even accept the stock "you're shit" response that these kind of posts get. How is it any way justifiable that I have lost 10 ranks with a 48% win ratio? Let's say, for the sake of argument, that I don't belong in the 50's. That still doesn't explain my current rank.

My problem with Torbjörn's turrets are their instant lock-on and 360° line of sight, not the damage. That and how people lose their brains whenever they see the dwarf.

The reason you're probably being matched downward so much is that at rank 41 (the bottom 11% of players), the difference between you and a rank 50 is close to 70000 players. When you start to look at the people BELOW rank 41, it amounts to just over 10000 players. So in the game's mind, it makes more sense to match you with rank 30's than rank 50's since rank 50's can very easily be matched with a larger pool of similar skill players.

It sucks, but you will likely have to find a team to group up with to scratch and claw your way out of MMR hell (which I'd consider to be 40~55). That, or accept your fate and hope to fare better in season 2.

I get the feeling that blizzard somehow doubled the ranks accidently. This explains why there's 2 markers for each number and now it seems like we're getting a quarter of a rank per win when really were being half a rank but there's twice as much to each rank.

Bragging was a secondary objective, primary was showing that you can climb, so i didn't want to sound like a huge faggot (just a small faggot) and post statistics. Honestly probably got lucky on the 50s, or unlucky on the 60s, who knows, because the 60s is random as fuck, some players are 60s skill, some are high 60s skill and some are low 50s skill. In the 50s everyone was pure garbage with maybe 1 single guy that didn't deserve to be in the 50s, judging by his performance on that particular match/map.

Those plus 1 hour on Genji and 1 hour on Zarya. Tracer as KOTH exclusive, 76 on everything else, but i started playing her outside of KOTH a day or two before the patch arrived, to really good results.
