Honestly? Yeah. I couldn't play XIV for more than a few months because the movement and mechanics feel shitty, but if nothing else, the OST fucking blows WoW away. There are barely any boss themes from WoW I remember after playing it for over a decade, but I could name 10 amazing tracks from the XIV OST (even from bosses/areas I didn't even do before I quit playing it) with ease.

The 3 fucking rogues ambushing and vanishing anyone who landed from the flight path, the retbomb paladin who 3vs1 people. And that was before the honor system, when the casual player cried blood because "abloo, people are organized and play a lot, it doesn't require skill to win" (because somehow bringing 10 people together for 8 hours a day means every single one of them are unskilled mouth-breathing fucks but whatever).

You can stick your addons who tell you when to fart up your ass, alongside the gearscore that made people wear trash gear because of their inherent value and not because of their efficiency.

The only complexity vanilla had over WoD is the talent system and the spell level system, not counting side stuff like professions and resistances. If anything, it's proof that greater complexity doesn't mean better. People had less tools to work with so they had to figure out a way around their weaknesses.
