Play on hard with listen mode off. Enjoy nigga. Normal is way to easy since you get way to much supply. Hard is a perfect balance. I believe even Naughty Dog themselves recommend hard on first playthrough.

I'd recommend Hard or Survivor. It's really just a matter of AI being retarded on Easy and Normal, and you having far more health. You're also far more strapped for resources on Hard/Survivor, and there's a fantastic constant feeling of never quite having enough stuff to get through a situation and having to use everything you've saved up to barely make it out alive (which feels amazing by the way), while on the lower difficulties you have always got at least two dozen bullets in your gun.
On Survivor, listen mode (see enemies through walls) is always off, but on the other difficulties you can choose to turn it off. I recommend turning it off, since I didn't even know it existed till like 3/4 into the game, and then it got a whole lot easier when I started using it so then gave up on it.

Don't play on Grounded, it's fucking dumb. Hard's probably the best for a first playthrough.

Yeah, self-healing now adds to ult charge in the same way healing other people does, so Soldier 76, Roadhog, Mei, Bastion etc. gain ult when they heal themselves.

Soldier, Roadhog and Bastion all had their ult costs increased to match up with this (Roadhog especially, his ult technically costs 45% more now, but with the self-healing it balances out). Mei's ult cost went unchanged and she now gets a good ~15% ult charge when healing herself for the full 150 Cryo Freeze can do.

I play as her a lot and I've immediately noticed having more ults more often.

I was under the impression that a scrub character was a character whose play design acted as a crutch for lower skill players. Mei, for example, where she can freeze her opponent and then go for an easy headshot, means she can do well for people who are bad at aiming. Zen is a character that you need to be good and efficient at all the core skills (aim, positioning, situational awareness, ability management) to play well with, so he wouldn't be that.

If you're simply implying that he's a wasted slot then at high level play pre-buff then yeah but a good Zen can fucking eat through tanks and help push through defensive lines damn well.

Also really not understanding the GR2 hype. It just looks like an actual game compared to the first which was just mediocrity encompassed into a game. Seriously why is GR so popular? It had poor gameplay, no story, bland characters, eh music and didn't even look good.

My only disappointment with GR2 is the fact that the anime announcement ended up being one OVA only instead of a full 1 season anime with 12 episodes

Saying "awful" doesn't mean anything. Just because something has an issue doesn't make it awful.

The combat suffered for its poor balance due to the fact the gravity kick was considerably more efficient meaning it could get repetitive, but how much that bothers people is entirely subjective. I wasn't bothered at all, and on subsequent playthroughs it hasn't impacted how I play either. That's not to say it's not an issue, but it certainly doesn't make it "awful" either.

If one mission having one tiny section that is awkward bothers you that much then lord knows how you manage to have fun in any game.

I like it because I love the mobility, I like open world mobility-focused games in general (Just Cause 2 would be another example), I love its setting and world design both visually and gameplay wise, I love the Kohei Tanaka soundtrack, the fantasy-sci-fi story and setting and so on.
