Do you think the Hero of Time ever picked the Master Sword back up in the Child Timeline? The Sacred Grove Temple is pretty similar to the Temple of Time but it's different enough to make me think that it's an entirely new location, especially since Faron Woods wouldn't have sprouted up so quickly. Hyrule Castle and Town moved so they might have wanted to keep the sword somewhere else. It seems silly to me that the builders would have taken the Master Sword out while still stuck in stone, if that would even have worked.
So do you think Link picked the Master Sword back up after 7 years? He wasn't remembered as a hero so he wouldn't have done anything with it but it is still kind of his birthright.

And so with that the Best Sages Tournament draws to a close, with the winner being Saria. A very dominant performance.

Now before some of you decide to say rigged, or whatever, my favorite Sage, Darunia was lucky he got out of the first round, let alone win the whole thing. And there were multiple days, threads, and polls in which for everyone to vote, not everyone did, and yes had they the results may have been different.

But as it stands right now Saria is the Best Sage.

Used strawpolls that were exclusively posted here. I can't say anything if they were posted elsewhere, but considering the number of votes, I doubt it. They never had more than 15-20 usually, outside of Darunia vs. Irene which had 30.

The one exception to the strawpoll rule was the Semi-Finals as Strawpoll was down so I had everyone vote in the thread, it was still about the same really, mostly Saria and Ruto, as Rauru had a bye.

I didn't make an actual bracket though, just labeled wrote the Sages down, gave it a number generator and then made some polls for the rounds.

I'm an old shit who's played The Legend of Zelda in 1987 when I was 8 for Nintendo. Played A Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, The Minish Cap, The Wind Waker, Oracle of Ages and Seasons, and some others.

Never played Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask. Was playing PC games during the Fifth Generation of consoles. No idea why they get so much praise and not sure if I should care to emulate them.

As someone who loves both OoT and MM, they are dated games, they're still fun, but they are definitely dated if you choose to emulate them. The 3D versions do fix a lot of problems, much to some's annoyances.

OoT has some of the best dungeons and flow of any Zelda game, but is ultimately bogged down by some annoyances with time travel for your first time playing and not knowing everything perfectly, slightly janky controls/camera at times, and a very poor FPS when things start to really bog down.

MM is more about side-quests and character interactions with stories, and has a lot of resetting and re-doing events so you can get everything done.

Honestly, just try them out. Use the animu formula for OoT. First 3 dungeons (episodes), and if you still aren't all about it, then you're free to drop the game. For MM the first dungeon should be good enough after the first initial three days and moving along due to character interactions and the first dungeon.

I've learned from growing up on /v/ that if you were a PC gamer back then you were most likely a casual (see Goldeneye's fanbase which became Halo's fanbase), Games like SM64 and OoT are not aimed at people who play Pokemon Go in the same sense. That said, the fact you played The Minish Cap tells me you're a man of taste nevertheless. You may or may not find OoT/MM to your liking. It depends on your holistic state of being or duress.

If you have other preoccupations like school or work, you probably won't have the patience to put up with learning the deep mechanics of OoT like when to use Farore's Wing ideally, whether to capture a fairy or collect four heart pieces on the way to Volvagia so you can fight him without the Goron Tunic; do you take the risk of rolling under Ganon and using a quickspin to stun him or a clutch jump attack from the sheathe by pressing A exactly on the frame Link grabs his sword?

Most people don't know the answer to all these questions until their 12th playthrough of OoT.

I loved both The Minish Cap and Wind Waker. Only played the first two Halo games, not a fan of them.
Played SM64 at friends houses, was fun.
It's more of putting off playing OoT and MM because I have too many games in my backlog.

The doorway into the Temple of Time may even be a different place than where Link goes when he climbed the magic stairs into the proper dungeon. Considering the place is about time travel, it may be safe to assume that parts of the temple are hidden by way of displacing them in time. You basically age a room out of existence, while providing a passage that leads back to before it was destroyed. The Master Sword and pedestal would still survive such a thing, and be preserved on the outside. The Oocoo is there because the Oocoo got lost trying to find a way back home and thought it could use the Time Gate of the Temple of Time. The Dominion Rod isn't there, it's just re-powered up in there.

It should be it's own thing, but if I had to come up with a comparison, it should be a high-quality anime with a strong Ghibli feel and Ghibli-like elements. I don't know why, but whenever I watch Ghibli flicks, I immediately get strong Zelda vibes from them, their atmosphere and their tone.

I definitely agree that anime fits best for Zelda overall, though.

But when it comes to Toon Link, I can see it working as an American cartoon adaptation with Genndy Tartakovsky influence. I can also see TP or the N64 Zeldas working out as high quality CG movies - but nothing like most modern western 3D animation when it comes to tone and style. So something like the FF7 sequel in terms of visuals, if I had to vaguely describe it.

Why would they do that though, there is no reason to. It's not like Ganondorf can touch the sword and he was sealed at the time anyways. There really isn't a reason to do so, and as someone said earlier, the pathway to Ganon's Tower in WW is the same as the path to Hyrule Castle in OoT. It's doubtful they did however. So far it's been in the Temple of Time or Lost Woods (Historia says it was once a Temple), so logic applies that it was once the Temple of Time (it would match up geographically as well).

I mean there is no reason why WW should be the random sole exception, outside of BotW now for whatever reason and that seems more like they moved the entire Great Plateau than the Master Sword itself and it just seems like it was rooted in the ground, or perhaps we're the ones that move the Master Sword to a different location.

Just seems logical Hyrule Castle is built over top the Temple of Time in WW. It did need to be rebuilt anyways and it's currently the only non-ruined standing structure in the Adult Timeline in Castle Town.

That's where Zelda sends him back to at the end. Link goes back to the point before he even meets Zelda, so Ganondorf hasn't done anything yet. That's where the end credits of OOT end off. The story in TP continues it, by explaining that Link ratted Ganondorf out, so Ganondorf and his thieves were arrested before they had a chance to do anything yet.

Looks enticing, but the fact there's no directional influence while falling is disappointing, and I'm hoping is implemented in the final release. I've had enough of this. In every Nintendo game you can influence the way your character falls, but Link for some reason falls like a bag of bricks.

Even in Brawl, Link plays like jumps and falls he's wearing the iron boots. I don't understand what's with this need to make him so rigid.

Mostly because there has never really been a need of it in Zelda. Jumping is finally added to 3D and directional falling could probably massively screw with the physics engine and the paraglider they have laid out.

I'm sure the Hero of Time thought about it too anon, eventually growing up and figuring out that the Saria he truly knows is in the Adult Timeline, not the Child one.

On another note, I finally stopped dicking around and got around to finishing Woodfall, that already puts me up to 7 hearts. So far so good, though organizing pics is gonna be a huge pain in the ass due to how the game is structured.
