Story was shit and didn't matter. Draenor as a whole was a lot less interesting than Outland and did not live up to the hype dating back decades
New characters and bosses were lack luster. For all intents and purposes they were mostly original (in the sense that all the warlords were massively different from their incredibly old Warcraft and WoW counterparts) characters who sucked dicked. MoP was fucking kung fu panda and people still autism over the Mogu and Mantid and tarzan zoo. I don't see anyone fan girling over Kilrogg or Kargath or Blackhand but still see plenty of panda shitposting.
People hated MoP and Cata Daily shit but WoDs version of random dicking around in zones for pointless rep and grinding was even worse.

Melee players have to deal with bullshit latency issues where you see players behind where they actually are, RBGs have gone to shit because of huge amounts of hackers, kickbotting is found in every type of PVP content, the balance is all over the place. There's been almost no new PVP content in the past 2 expansions. PVP quality is as high if not lower than pet battle quality.

I've never tried to go for glad because of all these issues. It also really doesn't help that if you don't play a good spec you have to put 5 times more effort than the other FOTM specs. Serious WoW PVP is a complete joke, if you want an actual competitive PVP experience go play another game.

The reason they're doing it now is because they went back on their word. In the past they said that they didn't want the game to be split in two halves, balance wise. They didn't want you abilities to be different between PVE and PVP which is why PVErs complained about PVP balance affecting the PVE game. Then they realized how retarded that was and changed it for Legion. That's why.

I understand what you mean about profit and shit, but even though they are out to make money, they still have a design philosophy that they follow. There are many changes that people dislike and have expressed dislike over that they're sticking with. The lack of distinction between PVE and PVP that we've had in the past is that, a decision that they made. That's the reason they gave us. But not for legion they're changing their mind. There's no way for you and me to know this, but I believe that making some battle grounds is more work than rebalancing classes.
