Yeah, the truth is after you've played a hero a few times you should not use a guide for them. What you do, from your skill build to your itemization, depends too much on the specifics of your match that not only do most in-game guides fail to represent them properly, but you would have to waste too much time informing yourself on the right build for that set of variables if you did it during the match itself. It's much like using the boundary boxes of jungle camps to determine how to block a camp during an ongoing match: stupid, and the easy way out for the lazy.

At their best, guides supply a non-completely stupid build for when you don't really know what a character does, which is the most you could hope for, really.

The bots are crazy, razorbot and viperbot always end up being unkillable for whatever reason. Also after 10 minutes or all bots 5 man mid and keep throwing bodies at mid until the throne dies. However valve changed the ai in 6.88 because now the bots go to the runes. Radiant goes 5 man top rune and dire 5 man bottom rune. This happens every game. Bots are strange.
