Honestly? The fact that Toggle Crouch and Hold crouch aren't bindable keys instead of an option. In a game like Dirty Bomb where long jumping is so integral to countering certain mercs and using the map, there is no reason toggle crouch shouldn't be a bindable key while you can keep hold crouch as another key. I use toggle crouch for most games and if they're not going to make it a bind, why not remove the option since it's fucking useless otherwise.

This can't take much time to implement or test either.

Honestly the worst part is that they keep trying to push the narrative that it's cheaper.
The reality is they want to nerf player income but they can't just outright say it, so they have to come up with a bullshit scenario where it actually is cheaper.
SD knows how much people get silvers, golds and other cards from cases, they have the statistics, they know perfectly well that nobody gets a cobalt from leads only. THEY KNOW THIS.
They know they have increased the costs across the board for ALL users.
Yet there is this one megical scenario where it has become cheaper but practically nobody ends up in that scenario.

So they get to increase costs for the vast majority of the players and try to deflect some of the heat with "bu-but it's cheaper"
What pisses me off is that they think I am a complete idiot and would actually fall for this.
That part there is the most annoying, it's a direct insult to my intelligence.

This is without a doubt the most annoying bug in the game. It has been in it since I started playing around the time phantom had just come out and was still a useful merc.

Speaking of Phantom, proxy's mines randomly not being disabled sometimes when you use EMP is very annoying.

How about SD fixes the game breaking exploits they have? The kinds of cheats we see in Dirty Bomb every fucking day should not be allowed to exist in the first place. I understand it's impossible to stop the regular aimbots/wallhacks/triggers but it sure as hell is possible to stop one fucking bullet from doing million damage or killing people without shooting at all. Or making entire teams K out just like that. And holy shit if you really are so fucking incompetent, reach out to the guys who write the hacks for your game, they will help you fix your shit if you ask them nicely. This wouldn't be the first time a game developer hires a hacker to fix their game either, there are tons of examples of this happening in the past.


And before you ask, no, I'm not associated with any of this shit, I'm just tired of SD doing nothing.

No, not every UE3 game suffers from issues like damage hacks.
This kind of issue is very easily preventable with decent net code.
I am aware that FPS games are one of the hardest to protect, but this kind of issue is easily avoidable.
Kind of reminds me of players being able to disregard cooldowns in Black Desert Online, that was just as terrible.

I'm not a programmer nor the dev so I can't comment further and how exactly a damage hack works. :\ It's definitely frustrating.

You don't need to be a programmer to understand how these things work.
The player has full control over his client, but no full control over the server.
The only control he has over the server is granted him through his communication with the server, limited by the server's protocol (which is defined by the net code).
Because the player has full control over the client, anything the client tells the server may be intended to exploit the server.
You cannot rely on the fact that your server will only get packets from your client as defined by the client code, because the player has full control of the client and may be able to change the client code or even have another application act as the client.
To combat this, the server has to distrust the client with everything he tells the server, limiting the protocol to be very strict.
What's happening here is that the client is telling the server which player he hit and with what damage he hit that player.
Firstly, the server would need to check whether the client could have even hit that player.
Secondly, the server would either have to check whether the damage specified by the client is correct, or not require the client to specify the damage at all, and instead only send that he hit a certain player, letting the server calculate the damage, not the client.
As you can see, this issue is caused by the fact that the net code is not strict enough and relying on the client acting as specified in the client code, which can be exploitet by hackers. The protocol needs to be stricter.

If you want an unhackable game don't bother with anticheat at all and just get some hyper-autistic fuck like toadyone hooked up to cocaine to work on some obscure labyrinth of an engine.
At the very least it will keep 3rd world bean/gook kids from being able to set up an aimbot and ESP using a UE3 tutorial set up for some other UE3 game.
I remember when I was younger I use to make ESP for counter-strike all the time and all I had to do was carefully follow a source-hack tutorial over and over. If it ever got patched I just redid it and updated some small things.

Also you should know that Dirty Bomb picks up Foobar2000 as a cheat program, I've been kicked four times and all I was doing was listening to music.

FPS games are harder to protect because they're so fast. The issue I just explained is client to server communication. This issue is easy to solve by making the protocol stricter and not trusting the client in any regard.
What's hard to solve is client to server communication.
In an optimal scenario, the client is only told the information he really needs to know (in this case, what he sees). Because FPS games are so fast however, this is physically impossible (because you can't update every player's information every time he moves his mouse), so the server has to tell the client more information than he needs so he doesn't need to update the client as often.
Visually, the client code will only render a subset of that information.
As mentioned before however, players have full control over their client, so they can modify it to show the full information given to them by the server.
This is essentially how ESPs/wallhacks/other information based hacks work.
Aimbots/Aim assists/Silent aim/whatever essentially work the same, just that they imitate the client doing something that he isn't. This is also very hard to prevent, because it's on the client-
Anti-Hacks are just duct tape for this issue. They don't really solve the issue and with enough effort you'd even be able to turn them off (because anti hacks operate on your client, and as I mentioned, you've got full control over your client).
This is the same reason why DRM barely ever works (Good DRMs are merely incredibly hard to reverse engineer and to modify, the same goes for anticheat).
