Nibelsnarf's duals are great against Kut-Ku and Malfestio. Ludroth's are probably about equal. The Gypceros duals aren't terrible. Snow Slicers would actually be good if you had anything to use them on. Twin Daggers are good enough, so are Petrified Daggers if you keep upgrading them.

Nothing in Low Rank really demands too much concern for blade choice, though. I'm just annoyed that Kut-Ku's duals are terrible the entire time. I might as well just upgrade them into the Garuga duals

Oh, Nibelsnarf's duals are all good against Glavenus in the Abyssal Mushroom quest. Gammoth and Mizu are basically the reasons I wish Kut-Ku's duals didn't suck. Snow Slicers were okay against Astalos, but I didn't actually mean to fight him with them when I did the Wyvern Egg quest, it just happened. There are probably better low rank options for killing him than those

if you keep up the assault then maintaining 3 gauges for the boomerangs isn't a problem, so don't bother with assist

just stick with warrior/fighter

essential skills are the two boomerang skills and whatever attack skill you can fit in.

There's also a skill that massively increase your attack and defense if your cat goes naked, World's Strongest, look for it.

I don't know about "unlocked" but if your defense is hovering around 100~, you're a guaranteed two shot for Arzuros, and that's at best.
His hide is also pretty tough, you'll want a decently sharp weapon which you just don't really get in LR.

Adept Longsword is the greatest thing video games have ever given us and if you don't use it then you're a faggot.

Okay can someone help me understand. Maybe I am just bad but theres just not enough windows for me to get in heavy use of crouch fire in HBG. People say that adept is the best because you can dodge right into crouching, but 8/10 times I am still in a dangerous situation where I have to roll again anyway. I feel like im having more success with striker HBG because I get the mobility, reload, and recoil bonus from guns blazing and on demand escape from absolute readiness. At least thats my experience online.

Anyone have tips for using the adept dodge?

The timing of the dodge is something I have to work on myself. But most of the time these shitty monsters walk so far away that I can't follow up after the dodge and therefore almost never get my LS to spirit up.

Tips like git gud and aim the followup towards the monster are appreciated but not really helpful in any way.

This thread is fucking shit, people dumping chibishit or whining about the game or the thread instead of playing the game. Fucking /v/ threads are a hundred times better than /mhg/ right now where people only play the game and have fun.

Do a simple calculation on the damage. The Tetsucabra one at low rank has 120 damage and -10% affinity.

So 90% of the time, it's doing the full 120
(.90 x 120) = 108

And 10% of the time, it's doing 75% of 120.
(.10 x (120 x .75)) = 9

Add the two together to get your theoretical average damage across infinite time.
108 + 9 = 117

117 Damage is way better than a lot of the other GS capable of being made at that same rank. You can do this with pos affinity too, just change the 75% to a 125%.
